What about the SU-24M? It is NATO designated as a bomber, or are you only looking at long range bombers?
@@chrisriley1450 I'm not looking at any attack aircraft. It just opens it up too much. So yes, only strategic bomber aircraft.

With the US bombers range doesn't matter because of the USA's huge air tanker fleet and number of global bases. I also disagree with the B 52 placing as i feel it should be higher as it is due to be in service longer than the b2 and B1,, both supposed replacements. the b1 also should beat the tu160 in my view as it is stealthier and can carry a payload which is far far more diverse. Just my opinion obviously and a very interesting video.
I do think a big factor in it's continued use is our involvement with far inferior forces. A B-52 would be a sitting duck for any even semi sophisticated air defense systems.
@@AviationAustin maybe so, the pilots often train to fly under the radar though (100ft) and with long range cruise missiles I feel the 70 year old plan is still relevant, its a really good debate though with the B21 entering service relatively soon.

Tu-160 is the best, it's the fastest, have long range ang can carry 12 Kh-101 stealth missiles, which have 5000km(not a typo!) range.
@@AviationAustin you did forget that the b1 lancer has some stealth capabilities like lower rcs as low as the f16C which is 1.25 rcs and also the b1 lancer have a external payload of 50,000lbs on top of thee 75,000lbs internally which makes it the most payload of any bomber in the current fleet and the B2 spirit bomber max payload of 55,000lbs sense it can carry 2 GBU 57 bombs but typically it is about 45,000lbs.
The TU22Ms are terrible planes.
What?! B-2 is a very bad bomber. It' slow, unmaneveurable, and simply unflyable without electronics. It's only advantage is stealth, whicj is overestimated.
All these other bombers would get shot out of the sky by IADS before reaching their targets. Stealth, which isn't "overestimated" as you claim, allows the B-2 to reach its targets without being detected
Skeptics have called it “overestimated” since the F-117, yet… it works, sooooo…
