- Pete's Blue.Roy Buchanan*******Roy Buchanan was one of America's true geniuses of the electric guitar. Even posthumously, he commands the ardent respect of his fellow guitarists and a devoted army of fans. The Buchanan sound is unique: heartbreaking, searing solos, trademark shimmering tone, gorgeous melodies and a mixture of lightning quickness and technical creativity that mark him as a wizard of the instrument.
This is just a blues masterpiece...very controlled....a deep thinking
Its heavenly .... thought provoking ... its roy to perfection .... thank you roy ..
I was lucky enough to see him live in Miami , What class and style he had ,enormous talent ! One of the best, we miss him a lot , and Gary Moore as well.
Gary does a version of Messiah will come that is ....jawl dropping...!!
The things he could do with a guitar and not use special pedals or effects was absolutely amazing. He did with his talent and fingers.
In 1972, three friends and I saw ROY BUCHANAN (with his Snakestretchers band) perform several times at the Crossroads Night Club in Bladensburg, Maryland. We were seated at a small table only 15 feet from him!
What he did with his Telecaster made our hair stand on end!
I am the proud owner of the (“highly valued collectible”) burlap-wrapped LP, “Buch and the Snake Stretchers.” I bought it from Roy after one of his sessions at the Crossroads.
im 60 been a roy fan since about 14 .. still get mindblown sometimes .. this version is one of them .. heavenly ... RIP Roy Buchanan ... thank you indeed ... magik ...
I'm 68. Saw Roy Buchanan live 1973 in Montreux, Switzerland.
Had a handshake and an autograph after the concert. I was 18.
Excuse me for my poor english, because I' m a swiss citizen, french talking, who has learned english at high school.
I remember hitchiking in Lausanne with my friend Daniel, waiting for a car driving us to Montreux.
After a few minutes, a guy stopped in his blue Volkswagen beetle....
So long time ago....
Thanks for your answer. Merci pour votre réponse.
Maybe you've heard about Montreux. Peut- être avez vous entendu parler de Montreux.
This town is on the Lake Geneva shoreline. Cette ville se situe au bord du Lac Léman.
Do you know " Smoke on the water" , by Deep Purple?
We all came out to Montreux, on the Lake Geneva shoreline" .....etc.....Smoke on the water, fire in the sky....
Do you speak french? Parlez- vous français?
@@thomasspoerli4659 no french sorry , but seen Deep Purple in early 80s .. know the story of Smoke on the Water well .... Frank Zappa and the mothers , they had the best place around ... . etc .? im an oldie . seen alot of the great bands , preformers etc .. done personal security with solo artists (bb king , satriarni, iggy pop plus more ) and bands for a few yrs in 80s .. always wanted to visit yr country ... but wont/no vx so loks lik my later in life travell isnt going to happen now .. we are trapped in NZ .. one dource of news , govt , police state full of brainless mockingbird victems ..
@@thomasspoerli4659 sounds like it was a huge party house full of craziness , creativity and fun before , some mo fkr , burn it to the ground .. my type of house .. 😂 .. lived in afew like it in old days .. cant live like that now unfortunately ...
Dan Grande ...Non ho parole solo lacrime...Suuuupeeeerrrrbbeeee Fantasticoooo
I too saw him, only three times, didn't get an autograph, but got his picture, as they say, his playing would peel the paint off the wall
👍👍👍 peel it roy ...... 🎼🎶🎵🎶 ....
This reaches me, which is uncommon. God Bless him for this.
Can't get enough!
Yes, indeed!
Oui, en effet!
Saw him 4 times up close & got a autograph @ a show in Waynesburg, PA at the college there in 1973. Humble guy who never had the "star trip" persona. He was never comfortable with his fame.
That's because he didn't realize just how good as he was, and always worried about not giving the audience his best.
This is real awesome he played so awesome.
Since 1969 /1970 and I still get goose bumps !
One the greatest blues songs of all time period.
I was in a band ( Vocals keyboards and harmonica). My friend (the guitarist) was a huge fan of Roy. We used to go to see him whenever he was anywhere in the NY or NJ area. Sadly, that friend ( the guitarist) and I no longer talk to one another...
Roy is still the BEST
Listening to this set songs is mind blowing. The video work is nothing short of * just plain wow*
Most excellent blues player modify ever heard of
He's so much more than just the blues. Les Paul said "his guitar playing doesn't know any limits'.
Una cosa incredibile, una chitarra tirata al massimo che non vorresti che finisse mai ! Grande Roy Buchanan, e questo ellepì è un gioiello.
I keep watching the video all I can say is Thank you God thank you Kostas 💋👀🖤😊
Réellement bon!

the Best guitarist to ever pick up a telecaster
Absolutely ... if this doesnt make you close your eyes and wonder ..... nothing will ..... thank you mr roy buchanan ... and 1986 auckland town hall new zealand was my night of heaven ... plus the visits by mr SRV .... .. how sad ... rip ... roy and stevie ... both blew me away like no other ...
This transcends everything. The emotion in his playing is unbearable! And it's all done with a simple old Tele... The fingers, the heart of the man... WOW!
The minor harmonic lick at 1:53 is a unique thumbprint in this piece.
From the near east to the far west one is a click away on utube and a minor scale difference away.

I would have to say that Roy and Gary Moore be the two best "benders" ever......maybe David Gilmour could jump in that group they could bend the strings like no other
Abartrom script writter❤ died or alive dn't know❤;)
Stone cold!
I couldn't have said it better abartrom.
That’s ever heard of
Hoi Abertrom , I play too Guitar ________ see frederic duerst music , hope y n join . ALL BEST from SWITZERLAND
ovo je do jaja
You see Roy had a good sense of humor and he referenced the licks of the people before him but he was certainly superior to most of them. My teacher Teddy Irwin was in his band in the early seventies and I and I was exposed to to great music When I was quite young. Both of them drank like fish
Blackmore stole a lot from Buchanan...
a they all did.....the most sorely under player .. and on a Telecaster with almost no peddles......
No pedals here at all ...
I saw Blackmore with D.P. in 68, long before he would have heard Roy. They both play the same idiom of the blues, both great players, but Blues players who learned from the generation of pre-war and early post war Chicago Black players. White boys doing the Blues, that's cool.
Volume and tone knobs on the Tele only!!
