This is the easiest tutorial I've come across. I'm trying this for the first time. 2 things I've noticed. 1) There's baking soda in the washing soda, so why add the extra cup of baking soda? The extra cup of baking soda seems to want to separate from the other ingredients after mixing. 2) 2 tablespoons doesn't seem like enough.

@Elnaz Hamai my recepie is (cheapest detergent in the store) Laundry booster, baking soda, cheapest scent booster beads, zote soap bar shaved, borax! Did it once and it lasted my brothers and I 4 years and going, so i make batches to give to friends :)
@@UBoobTube most definitely! All the ingredients cost me about $12 at Walmart. I’ve made 4 or 5 batches so far and still have half of every box. The only thing you replace more frequently is the soap bar. But since the Zote bar is about twice the size of the Fels Naptha, I use half a bar per batch.
If it’s still an HE washer, the same. If it’s not an HE washer, I usually do 3-4 tablespoons. It seems to work fine, though obviously you go through it twice as fast. 🫤 I’ve added more than that if it is a particularly dirty/large load.
It helps to add the soap and let the washer fill up and give the basket a couple of turns and then add your laundry at the end. Warm water helps also I’ve learned! I love this stuff.

At first it won't clog, but within time, it will. I've been watching many many videos to make your own laundry detergent. Came here to say that! Washing soda is expensive! Just make your own, since baking soda is so cheap!! ❤

Could I just add ph up

Borax powder eliminated a flea infestation (from a new cat) in my house many years ago. 👍
It cleaned a huge greasy mess out of my oven too. That's good stuff.
How did you do this my dogs may have fleas now
Baking soda works well for flea infestations, also.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
You're welcome!☺️

Why do I need baking soda if i already have washing soda?

There’s no BS in WS.
As used here BS is a filler.
Yeah, baking soda is pointless in this recipe. It is redundant.
Is Borax the same thing as boric acid?
No, they are different.

I would add salt as it desolves grease
How much salt?

@@arminsenpai that's a better idea because no one should put soap in the washing machine.
How many loads does this produce usually? Thank you
Anyone???
@@UBoobTubeI got at least 8-10 loads with this amount. Probably more though. I didn’t get an exact count. I just doubled the recipe.

What’s in the soap though?
Stuff works great but hate the residue it leaves on colors and dark clothes
Use white vinegar as your fabric softener and it will rinse them clean of that. It also cleans your washing machine while doing it.

That’s because it’s soap, not detergent. Soap leaves a residue.
I didn't have that issue and I use a LOT of any detergent for washing. I always do extra rinses.

Yeah, I’ve been doing this last six months and it does not work that well
I've been using this for a week, and I think I need another detergent ingredient. The socks don't seem clean
Add another bar of Fels Naptha...
Or you a box of everything for a larger amount

What type of clothes softener do you use?
I don’t use softener. I use vinegar instead of fabric softener 😊
Yes, I second this! Fabric softener is horrible for your washing machine & clothes, plus vinegar is so much cheaper!
How is this stuff on the environment if it gets into the creeks or rivers .
It's far less toxic than store detergent. One brand I saw last week had the corrosion hazard symbol. You know, the acid burning the hand. Disgusting.
