I saw some information that said we shouldn't use any bar soap in our HE washing machines because it leaves a film in the washer that can ruin the parts of your washing machine.

if you use non-alcoholic vinegar as a fabric softener, then you are good to go - it removes calcium and other stuff like soap film... and keeps the clothes and washing machine pretty clean

I purchased these items months and months ago, finally, this last weekend I just made my homemade laundry detergent. I just noticed your video today. Guess what my hand looks worst then yours. I made a large batch need 2 bars of soap. Second bar, yep, i grated my hand or should I say my thumb, 2 places even. brand new grater I bought just for soap. It wasn’t good. My guess, I’ll be more careful next time.

Everything is good EXCEPT...if you have pets, essential oils are very toxic for them. No matter which ones. So we're doing the laundry & the pups & kitties lay on our blankets, clothes, etc. Best to omit any/all fragrance-producing oils. The other thing...traditional washing soda is also toxic--it is a chemical that can be a bad skin irritant.

I don't care too much about bizarre and hilariously named chemical compounds in my detergent since I'm not eating my clothes, I'm just sick of being financially squeezed and robbed. I'm finding that most things you use in your household can be made at home pretty easily. I've got a big 5 gallon bucket of liquid detergent cooling right now. It's pretty runny atm but I seem to have had some luck with a small amount of corn starch as a thickener.
Also we are rentoids so I don't care if it damages the machine lol
