This is definitely one of the most imaginative movies ever. Felix and Calhoun make me think of what could happened if Mario meet Lara Croft
The three most adorable children's characters in the history of animation: 1/ Boo, from "Monsters, Inc"; 2/ Agnes, from "Despicable me"; and, of course, 3/ Vanellope von Schweetz, from "Wreck-it Ralph"

There is also no "Hero's Duty" whose name is obviously inspired by "Call of Duty" and whose theme and aesthetics are inspired by "Gears of War" and "Halo". Finally, there is no "Sugar Rush", the video game in which Vanellope's races take place. Its racing theme and style are inspired by "Mario Kart" and "Crash Team Racing", and its colorful scenarios and amazing candy shapes are mainly inspired by the work of the great Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi.

Love this movie! And even though it’s kind of a different type of movie, this reaction to the racing makes me think all of the girls should watch the Speed Racer movie together. One of my favorites

Wreck-it Ralph I think this movie is so clever! I love the little jokes and inside jokes they make referring to playing video games. Anyone who has played any video game of any kind could probably find a lot of entertainment in this movie. When you base movies off of video games, you have to be careful and create a unique story that people can relate to. I feel like Ralph and Vanellope are very relatable. They both feel like outcasts and that life is unfair, but realize they are fine just the way they are and have a place in their world, and the others around them learn that too.
"Wreck-It Ralph": The secret life of video game characters. "I'm, Bad and that's Good; I will never be Good and that's not Bad, there's no one I'd rather be than me." I'm not the target audience for this movie, since video games and arcades came along just as I "aged out." It's all about the story, the characters, and The Hero's Journey of Ralph, Felix, and Vanellope.
Disney still made normal movies that were original.
Stand up comedian & actress Sarah Silverman is the voice for the girl racer that Ralph helps.

The bad/evil dudes from Mario, Streetfighter, Sonic the Hedgehog, Mortal Kombat, Space Invaders etc.

Wreck-It Ralph is actually a parody of Donkey Kong and Fix-It Felix is a parody of Mario, but I do believe someone actually did make a Wreck-It Ralph game and an arcade cabinet.
Sugar Rush is a mix of Mario Kart and Candy Crush. Q-Bert is an actual arcade game and a very classic one, if you get the chance to play it, go for it, it's a very fun game =)

OK OK I get it.
This may not be the overall "best" animated film of all time but, now that I have seen it six or seven times, I think it is not only ONE OF THE BEST but also it excels at the following:
* best use of video games as a metaphor for an action story.
* best atmosphere -- just when you think you are comfortable with the interior of one game, they introduce another. It is like a 3D film without the actual need for the glasses.
* best matchup of voice actor and personality -- every animated film, now, in the past, and yet to come, strives for this. Many die-hard fans will say that Ellen Degeneres as a fish nailed it. Well, I don't think so. The voice acting of Sarah Silverman matched with the animated character (which I swear seems to be just Sarah herself when she was maybe 5 or 6 years old) is the most perfect meshing of the two I have seen.
The story, the acting, the direction, all perfect -- this is an amazing movie that really did not get the attention it deserved.

If you watch the sequel "Ralph Breaks the Internet", make sure to watch the bonus short film "Pancake Milkshake"

If you wanna see some mind-blowing animated movies then you need to watch movies by Satoshi Kon: Perfect Blue (1997); Millennium Actress (2001); Tokyo Godfathers (2003) & Paprika (2006). My all time favorite animated film is "Millennium Actress" (2001)

Oh really? Last I checked, there’s also kid shows that are known for being viewed by adults that watch them on their own. Gravity falls, Adventure Time, and obviously Avatar: The Last Airbender. Wreck-It Ralph isn’t any different.
