- I bought this 98 Corolla as a theft recovery vehicle because I have an addiction to Toyotas and talking mad sh*t lol. Can't go wrong with these things

Just a protip for the future and others: you can remove the two screws on the column covers if you turn the steering wheel!
Nice one mate. Still surprises me that you don't have a few mil subscribers. Just a matter of time I guess. Definitely the highlight of my day when I see you've released a new video. Love the humour.
I very much appreciate the viewership and kind words, idk if I'll ever get to 1mil but I'm about to hit 1k lol. I never even thought I'd get this far so you never know! Thanks for watching!
@@jimmyjimjims7483 Wish you the Very Best! :)
I have a 94 Corolla with a drivers door that will not open, I subscribed because I like seeing all of the Corolla doors open and shut in your videos.
I like these little Corolla's, my godmother drove one in Sand drift pearl, I believe.
Thanks for the video.
I have a 2001 toyoda corolla sport that I painted navy blue the other year and a haulf ago. It's a great daily driver. Good exterior, interior, and gas mileage
You would think Toyota knew how to make door handles
you deserve 500K subs, great content.
900 dollar toyota can't go wrong. Brought a $1000 01 Avalon couple of years back when my falcon broke down put 30 k kms on then sold it for $1500 post covid.
Falcon What's That It Sounds Like The Name Of Ford In The Roblox Game Greenville
@@joshuafoster7772 Aussie made Ford its kind of like a crown Vic but four litre straight 6 and there dirt cheap in aus but can come in sports models and utes as well as sports utes (ignore the shitty filming) ua-cam.com/video/8U71TfBCHpQ/v-deo.html
Holy shit bro i think you may have just solved my aftermarket stereo issue!! It powers on and all the wires are properly connected yet produces no sound whatsoever!! I may have to check those wires underneath!!
A lot of memories came back to me when you started it, I've had a 2001 and a 2002, both manual. Don't think I've ever seen a VE with literally 0 options like that before, vast majority at least have A/C. I broke lots of door handles and that's about it, 1ZZ's are noisy as hell, not particularly powerful, and like to burn oil, but man can they take a beating. They're pretty much nonexistent to find this rust free in Canada, both of mine had a little rust in the rear quarters and on most of them you can almost remove the contents of the trunk without opening it
You filled your Tank the corolla has doubled in Value👍
I can relate to the title lol I’m on love with corollas had a 87 and a 96
You should pick up a front anti sway bar from the junk yard, they were standard on the '98 Corolla LE and CE but not on the VE.
I have a 2002 Corolla S and I want another one honestly
What you’re doing is exactly what I’ve been wanting to do! Buying old cars from the 90s and restoring them. I have to ask; I have a 1995 base model 5 speed. I want fold down seats which the base model doesn’t have. I think the LE model has. I haven’t found one in any junkyard to find out and compare the hardware I need. Have you converted to a fold-down seat before?
Yeah I have you just buy the whole seatback and dont forget the bolts/hardware and they bolt right in. The architecture of the car is the same for all models its only the options themselves that change. I always do measurements beforehand because some companies are buttholes enough to change the setup for each car but Toyota isn't typically like that, the Japanese are very ergonomic in that way
interior is nice and clean
FYI , you dont have to take the steering wheel off, to access the screws just crank the steering wheel hard left and hard right.
In the junkyard the steering wheels are locked because there's no key in the ignition so the steering lock engages and there's no way to disengage it with the column cover on, that is true if you have the key but in my case I didn't
I have the same issue with my Corollas door handle
I own a 98 Corolla Manual in pristine condition with low ks here in Australia. I will never sell it. Its like your cat a family pet.
@Stendec Stretcher what’s the mileage? I’ve seen them with 800,000 km/25 years old. Toyota manuals are awsome. Just so smooth. Not boring at all
Is your clutch pedal a bit stiff? I'm not used to a hard clutch.
Do that burns oil
best choice corolla...
No A/C? In Texas? Crazy!😂😂😂
Dang, need parts from the civic at 5:58 :(
Behind The Green Door . . . 😅
Ayee bro you know if you would’ve turn the steering wheels either left or right you would be able to have enough space to unscrew both bolt for the steering wheel cover with out removing the steering wheel completely haha
At the junkyard the cars have no power and no keys so the steering wheels are locked in place, it works well otherwise but at the junkyard its a pain in the ass since they just toss the keys that unlock the steering lock
@@jimmyjimjims7483 sheewsshh that’s right bro I forgot about that :(
Nice I bought a 99 ve 5 speed manual for $700 I'm fixing it and I'm going to sell it
Oil burner
That Air Force engineer probably worked on F35.
Why didn’t you just pull the door handles off the car in the yard?
At least it has OBD2 🤔
I never saw a car that displays the fuel level while its off!
Older cars did. Once the gauges have gone somewhat semi-digital they stopped showing.
That Is A Vary Old Vehicle No Door Handle's Wrong Paint On Door And Fender
Bro how did the people drive Manual with no rpm reader back in day ... that’s crazy lol
I do it by ear, most of my crappy old cars that were sticks didn't have a tach so I just listen and shift by the sound of the rpms
Have I been doing it wrong? I just go by sound, and stay under 3k rpms I hope I haven’t messed up cars!
👂
Funny enough, you can install the OEM tach inside the Corolla. You just need to swap the speedometer between the gauge cluster to keep the original odometer reading.
i think most people do it by ear
I thought you lived in AZ 😮
I live on the very border of where New Mexico becomes Texas, I can walk down the street and be in either state (or Juarez Mexico) within 10 minutes
I have 398 corrollas! The Le has 350k and the ce has 265. Driven daily i would not part with them.
398 Corollas is a LOT 😱 !!!
Where in TX are you?
buy a 93 then put a 4agze super charger on it
900 money units. Lol
who tf disliked the video?
Like I said I never heard you mention anything about the oil consumption most people do not maintain Toyota Corolla the 1.6 Corolla from 1993 all the way up to 97 Prince Royal like a b**** along with the 98 all the way to 2006 or 5 for an oil like a b**** and make engine noise in the lottery
My 94 Corolla is a 1.8L 7AFE and it never burns any oil at all, my 95 is also a 1.8L and it also never burns any oil at all however the 93 1.8L I had burned like a quart every 2000 miles and the 99 Prizm I had burned a quart every 1000 miles. The worst offender is my 2007 Camry 2.4L which burns at least a quart every 1000 miles or more. I check my oil frequently so for me its no big deal but there is a cheap "fix" to help mitigate oil consumption. Remove all the spark plugs, dump a mix of ATF/B12/PB Blaster down each cylinder and let it sit for a few days or even a week. Turn the engine over without the plugs in and blow the remaining junk out, change the oil and put it back together. Do this 3 times. This frees up the piston rings which is the main culprit of the known oil burning issues and its worked for me on several cars, the rings get stuck and allows oil passed them and this is what causes the oil "burning" issue. If people changed their oil regularly it wouldn't even be an issue but Toyota and Suzuki piston rings are prone to gunking up
I wouldn't pay no $900 for an old 201 Corolla a 97 1.8 but that made the mistake of getting a 1998 Rolla stick shift in 07 still got it 2700 big 1,s new clutch 90k still not using little oil burning vary sat 10 years when and it's still will start right up hate to sell because of the cheep assholes
Yeah I save it for a spare card I know I can get in it and drive it to California and back like I did twice already yeah brand new clutch it's fast is a bullet
I would not ever want another 98 to 2003 or for ever again for any under any circumstances no miles on it and the oil and
What !???
owned thousands of Toyota Corollas 99% of them burn or like a b****
