One tip in case you didn't know. Instead of creating folders and dragging videos there, you can do it on your desktop. Create a folder the videos and inside the folder create sub folders for each ( Talking Head, B roll..ex) and then when you drag that main folder to Final Cut it will split it automatically.
I would love to see how you are doing the round trip to Davinci from FCPX with Sony cameras bc it just does not work do to the timecode issues. I have never found a good way of doing it other than exporting everything in Pro Res and you cannot have stacked clips nor can you have 2-3 clips in one clip for example if you have a 16 x 9 clip and you did split screens, Davinci does no recognize the clips or transforms them and when you come back to FCPX they have black bars around them, totally sux. I eventually just color grade in FCPX bc it is a PIA to round trip to Davinci and back. And I have too many plugins I use all the time that are not available for Davinci or I only bought them for FCPX.
Great job on this video. I really liked the pace. On another note, I’m always amazed at how much the client doesn’t really care about. You’re always going to get the most hate from other filmmakers. Somehow, I never see other filmmakers at the bank.
can you please create an Arri Alexa and FCP X workflow? since fcp doesn't allow you to import Arri files natively without first creating a ProREss and or proxies using Resolve.
For music videos I find it best to make the song the first “clip” of the project cuz generally you’re not going to move the song. Make the song your “base layer” then throw all your clips above the track.
I don't primarily shoot Sony but I have a Series of Sony videos where I talked about the settings I liked when I did try the Sony A7Siii. Few months back.
Hey whats up Ryan ive been using final cut x since it dropped dope video. Have you tried Color Finale to color i know its a paid plugin but trust me its so dope. You can also create luts with it. I also stack footage for videos and i like how you found out about lifting the video cuz that use to kill me. Now i just color in davinci and create a lut there export and import it to FCPX. Good work tho i left premier years ago lol

@@ekphotography I basically drag all the footage to fcpx. Then i save each clip as a clip grab. Import the clip grabs into Davinci make my nodes color etc. Then i export my lut as a cube file and import them into each clip in fcpx its easy i know it sounds like its difficult but it really is'nt. Im doing this for now till i learn how to really use Davinci i just use it for the color features to be honest i'm a die hard fcpx. Fcpx is coming out for the ipad pro i'm definitely ignoring the kids the wife the world lmaooooo
@@eagleseyemedia CLip grabs? You mean screen shots? I never thought of that and might work, I would love to color grade my videos in Davinci, but due to the Sony timecode problems and funky xml from FCPX, I can never do it. I like your idea. and thanks for responding, I appreciate it. Did you mean screen grabs or what are clip grabs? Thanks buddy
I do 4K verticals but export them as full HD and they seem to work fine, There are a bunch of guys I have seen videos from claiming Instagram does show 4K and they are better quality but I have tried it like you and they actually do seem worse quality and nobody's phone is going to show 4K... I wish someone would chime in here and dispute that. I had some back and forth with the UA-camrs saying it is better to upload in 4K bc apparently Instagram reels can be 4K... But I cannot figure it out...
Drop any questions here & I'll be answering them periodically 🖤
Do you have a course? I would be interested in it?
I don't but I do have a direct mentorship group, better than the course. Direct access to all my knowledge ⚡ It's available on my store, link in description @@cafeundergroundshow

GREAT TIPS BRO!!!
Hi! This was a very good and helpful video. Thanks for posting. what are your thoughts on the new Final Cut Pro coming to the iPad?
I haven’t looked into it yet but seems cool.
yo i int gonna lie my boy is fire! with the video editing
Can you edit multiple music clips at once like premiere pro ?

What camera do you use for your vlogs man they look crisp clear vibrant too i wish i had the time to vlog.

It’s been a year in FCPX! That went quickly
Fast!
Not a FCP user but thx for the info!
Appreciate you still watching & commenting, the best supporters 🖤
Bro when you get used to that magnetic timeline and how to use it you’ll never go back-
Agh, it’s alright for a talking head but I love layering.
WHAT SONY SLOG SATTING PLZ ?

Why don't you convert to 709 using a lut and then do your grade?
I feel like the Canon Rec709 conversion lut is too intense.
How do you deal with the wobble of the R5?
I don’t usually get a wobble, I never use IBIS tho.

Color Finale is nice, I haven’t pulled the trigger yet but I plan on it 🔥 stacking footage is dope!

So the noise reduction fcpx feature is not as useful professionally?
NeatVideo works great.
