Best Shoe for Parkour? Parkour Shoe Review - Feiyue
In this video we give a review over the Feiyue shoe. This shoe is a very popular choice in the parkour, tricking, and martial arts communities.
This shoe is great for parkour training for a few reasons.
1. They are very inexpensive. You can find a pair of these shoes for between15-25$ online.
2. They are very thin and light. A thin soled, flexible shoe is great for training because this allows us to really dial in the technique with our jumps, landings, and precisions.
3. Comfortable and versatile. These shoes are super comfortable, great to wear around for day to day activities and are great shoes for tricking and martial arts.
The only downside to this shoe is the sole wears down very quickly. These shoes will only last you 2-5 months depending on how hard you are training. They wear out the fastest when performing wall runs.
If you are just getting into parkour or train parkour frequently I'd recommend checking out these shoes. Honestly the best shoes I have worn and the price can't be beat. My brother and I have been training with Feiyues for over 8 years now and still love these shoes.
You can pick up a pair from American Parkour's website above.
As always train safe and see you in the next video!

I have picked up Feiyues a while ago and I now wear them as my casual shoes. They are so incredibly comfortable once you're used to that freer feeling compared to normal shoes.
If you are used to walking around in running shoes and stuff that has a lot of padding and support, you'll probably have to prepare for a rough start. They really do feel a bit like barefoot shoes, even though they (thankfully) don't look like it. I really wouldn't recommend doing high impact stuff with them because of the missing padding. So keep it low and technical. Use more substantial shoes for drops.
I really love mine. I have started ordering them in pairs because that way I get them even cheaper. Great for working on your ankle stability during everyday use and great for technical stuff in parkour, especially balance and precisions.
My current pair is starting to disintegrate again. I'll probably have to switch to my backup soon. ;)
I you order from American Parkour Academy, they apparently offer a coupon when you leave your order in your cart for one day. Not sure if they still do that. It's in the 5-15% range.
If you're ordering from Europe, you'll probably be able to get a better price by ordering from a European shop (less shipping costs).
I'm from central Europe and I have so far ordered mine from here: www.yellowmountain.co.uk/collections/all
Look around a bit. Maybe you'll find a shop closer to you that sells them. They are originally kung fu shoes, so look at related shops first.
Is the grip good?
I got a pair about a week ago and I absolutely love them. I wear them as every day shoes and for parkour.
What is the price ?
Cool, Feiyue the kung fu version one from legit chinese brands like Top One, Zelten, Tiger Claw and Double Stars.
Dafu (the original Feiyue maker) sadly only makes the american version/french version Feiyues but it's durable for street wear but not that flexible and are way more expensive.
God bless.
I've only had 3 different kinds of training shoes in Parkour and Free-Running. First were the Feiyues and everything they discuss about them is true, great flexibility and tread, very inexpensive ($15-$25), only downside is that the grip can get really worn down a bit quicker than some training shoes but other than that great for first starting. Second were Evolv Cruzers, which are actually pretty good rock climbing shoes because they have AMAZING grip and tread, perfect for running up walls and can take fairly high drops, much more durable than the Feiyues but not as flexible, but way more expensive ($80-$120), but when you train in those baby's for the first time, you will know where that extra cash went. Third ones which I use now are the Onisuka Tigers Ultimate 81's, pretty good tread and flexibility and can last a very long time if taken care of properly, the soles are a bit more narrow, so balancing on rails with them can be a bit more challenging, but I honestly think its helped improve my balance over time and helped me be more careful, not as expensive as Evolvs but can be a bit pricey depending on where you buy them ($50-$80) but so far the Onisukas have been my very favorite. So that's my review, other opinions or experiences may differ, but this is just my history with training shoes. Thanks for reading and posting this video guys :)
I'm with you when it comes to the Onitsukas. They're a great pair of shoes and definitely my favorite to train in also.
nice review, the only thing I gotta argue with is that the feyues are not for beginners, In my opinion the feyues are for expert that wants to feel more the feet without going barefoot, I utilize kalenji that got a really nice grip and good flexibility, I can say that big drops are safer with them, but if you train with only this kind of shoes you won't learn how to land properly. In my opinion feyues are the best solution for precisions, if you want to learn them nicely the feyues help a lot because you feel the landing, and so with tricking on concrete, on the grass I prefer barefoot. But tastes can change a lot between peoples
My personal favourite is Vivobarefoot Stealth.
Hey guys, many of your videos are very useful, and we are all thankful for your insight. A lil constructive criticism here though... be aware of repetition in a video. Get to the point, edit, and call it good. We at home can rewind to pick up anything we missed... but it is a waste to watch five minutes of you saying a shoe has great feel, good grip, good flexibility, low weight, and low cost. Same thing is true with many of your vids and tutorials. That said, rock on.
Ooh ooh shit! xD ...you guys look different ..and young without your beards xD....no offence...
I kinda like it xD
Kalenjis are very good but according to me the tempest shoe is the best? Has anyone tried the takeflight shoe? Heard it was crap :O
My personal favorite shoes are OLLOS. I have tried many shoes, such as feiyues, five fingers, etc. I love the ollos because they last a long time and are flexable. they also seem tjick but are pretty thin. That is just my opinion on them. I loved the feiyues though.
same
Looking to get some of these eventually, awesome.
thanks guys looking forward to buying them
Also the Nike flex run are amazing parkour shoes. Great grip, amazing flexibility, and are realy comfortable
Here in singapore there is a similar brand called warrior
also Chinese brand, it's even more popular than Feiyue in China in the old days
puma evo speed 5 is my favorite parkour shoe
I already haave them and I can say that is the best shoes I ever had...( sorry for bad English ) Greetings from Croatia.
How do you get it without the logo
You two should try fivefingers search at them:-)
Vibramfivefingers.it/products
Can I use them all the time? Not just for training
Is this shoe strong and used for most of the stunts
Man, just wanted to tell you thank you so much for posting this video!!! I do parkour myself and I take classes and I sprung my ankle after landing a side flip wrong and my coach said, "Man you need to get parkour shoes!". And if it aint for u me wouldn't of known feiyue shoes existed! I ordered some today off of Amazon for $19.95 with Prime free shipping!! Thx so much!!
Kalenji Ekiden 50s for life

ive heaared that vevo barefoot are great too
Hey johnathan...how do you parkour with long hair?! Well I have long hair myself...but mine are getting in the way....plus I don't wanna cut it
I have a big question
I had the chinese version, and the french are more durable. I use them for walruns, cat-to-cat, and wall climb-ups never fell apart. chinese one is less durable specially if you buy the first generation chinese feiyues
I keep trying to do a backflip but I get so scared and I'm afraid to do it so what should I do
Tapp brothers I also forgot to pit in my comment down below that the last tilme I checked I am only just get aeound to 5 foot and that I only bench around 50lbs and curl arount 20lbs and if you read my las comment then you should know that i am only 13 so I know I should try to et stronger and at least have a place to train.
WHAT ARE THOOOOOOSEEEE
what do you prefer over priced Jordan's Nike's etc
+Not Me I like them
there just shoes tbh the person who did that vine should get fuck up he's fucking stupid
stanley 123 exactly
eme lmao
Hoodie inside out!!
He was not kidding when he said to not do wall runs with them. I did like 5 on the day I got them and it lost a whole lot of the grip. What kind of parkour shoe cant handle a wall run
Why do you wear your sweater inside-out? :P
PotHat probably to hide the logo (unsuccessful)
I'm 12 do u have any tips for ps beginner
do you have a bigger size shoe for size 13 and 14?
Ya guys, thanks
Another downside is that they are slippy when wet on smooth surfaces such as tiles, they slip from side to side. You would walk fine one day, coming inside from a rainy day and then bang you slip and fall to your side in a very unpredictable way. It's not that bad, but just beware when they are wet on slippery surfaces
+thaik56 Aren't all shoes slippy on wet and smooth surfaces?
Yeah but this one is unpredictable, every time I slip, it was because it totally caught me off guard.
I live in Thailand how can i get those feiyues?
I have been trying to learn the parlour roll and i cant do it. I have looked at dozens of yt vids and cant do it....could you please make a vid on different progressions for it as its one of the most basic moves for parkour and i cant do it... Thank you.
Parkour roll not parlour roll sorry.
What's size 5.5 on the site
What about vans
what about Asics Tiger 81 Onitsuka shoes? would you recommend them
Those or the Mexico 66
what about skeletoes? (shoes by FIFA that separates ur toes)
I use Vibram Bakilas which are much thinner than the Skeletoes, I would recommend using regular rounded shoes. My reasoning for this is: the ability to stub your toes more easily, the ability to slide your foot front to back within the shoes, and lastly, the ability to catch your toes into crevices. When I first bought my Vibrams I did a catgrab on a wooden playground and half my toes went between the boards. Not very fun!
Doesnt sound too fun...*puts on regular shoes*
do u live in England

Stephen Gsell
I understand what you're asking, For me I didn't have really anywhere to parkour because where I live I basically have no city within an hour away, I found myself using trees/hay bails for my training and eventually I was able to make my own vault table and stuff like that :P
you look different lol
Fey yeah (how these are pronounced)
He's cute.
bad bad bad shoes never again
Hey Tom, I feel that it's only right to say that there are a lot of counterfeit version which are sold on lots of websites as the real thing. Feiyue shoes are far more expensive than the £12.72/£12 ones you might find online. This is reflected in the wear down of the sole, it's also worth noting that these shoes are intended for indoor martial arts.
I don't know if you're trying to imply that the French ones are the real ones, but they aren't. The authentic ones are all Chinese. There are multiple authentic Chinese brands thank to shared manufacturing rights. What the French guy did was maliciously aquire the rights while the Chinese were having governmental a/o economical issues. I am not fully learned on the rules at that time, but I believe that only the original manufacturer should be allowed to hand over the rights. I do not believe the company he got the rights from was the original manufacturer either.
@@deadmercy3113I mean, the original comment was 7 years old when you posted this, but that's true. The Chinese apparently are lower quality (but in some places that don't matter like the holes for the shoelaces) and the Chinese ones wear out quicker, but everyone (even people who do martial arts) say they are stickier. easy way to identify Chinese from French is if at the bottom of the shoe there is a green triangle with Chinese gibrish written on it and if the y in the logo looks like a very scuffed v then they are the Chinese ones (which is GOOD)
gross
I hate those cheap chinese shoes. There is NO SUPPORT.
Chinese martial art shoes are traditionally made like these unlike shoes in the us. I'd say it's because of historical reasons but I couldn't tell you why. Just believe me. I'm Chinese.
+DJmicaiah That's kind of the point.
+DJmicaiah if you do the moves right you don't need support.
it is the point so you can feel all your mistakes
