    The M3s is a big deal for Dye, they need to compete with Planet Eclipse. Planet Eclipse at this stage are crushing everyone. In order for Dye to stay relevant, they needed to make a marker that broke the mold, something that took a chance, and they have done that with the M3s.

    The M3s operates @ 115 psi. not 125

    man, you really needed to add some kind of background music track into the video. there were so many silent parts between cuts. glad you finally caught-on to how significant a backing track is in a youtube video 👍

    Tuning aside, the only reason markers use LPRs is because their solenoids (SMC and Mac) can only withstand ~100psi while the markers required higher pressure to fire the ball. Companies realized they could simplify the hell out of things by re-designing the whole marker to shoot at the same pressure feeding the LPR, so that's the direction they want to go. Ultimately the number of people that want to successfully "tune" the LPR is pretty low compared to those that just pick up and play.

    • @Damitsall
      @Damitsall Рік тому

      Poppet valve markers need LPRs for operation, and has nothing to do with the solenoid. Easy example, autocockers.
      Part of the reason a lot of people don't tune their markers is because they make it hard to do so. A lot of markers never had pressure testers made for them, and most of them that do have pressure testers, it's something you have to drop another $100-200 on.

    • @ydna
      @ydna Рік тому

      @@Damitsall that's not true. With an Autococker, the LPR serves the exact same function of feeding the low-pressure 3way trigger valve. They can only withstand about 125-psi before the o-rings break, same as a solenoid valve. Autocockers wouldnt have LPRs if If the 3way valve could function at the same pressure as their valve (300+ psi). All it does is add cost and maintenance, no manufacturer would keep using that unless they were forced by the design.

    • @Damitsall
      @Damitsall Рік тому

      @@ydna The reason they do it is because you don't need 300 psi pushing the back block to cycle the gun. You can use a lot less pressure to get that job done. Yes if they were running 300psi to the 3 way, most likely they would need beefier seals.

    • @ydna
      @ydna Рік тому

      @@Damitsall yes but you're conflating a chicken-before-the-egg issue. The bolt doesn't NEED that higher pressure to cycle, it's a byproduct of the design requirement where the hoses and tiny seals would blow. If a dude is building an Autococker in his garage (as was done originally by Bud Orr and Glen Palmer), they're not going to add additional parts just to make it more tunable for fun. They added those LPR items because it was required by the design... and that was back in the 80's. Nowadays, no company is going to add additional items unless there's a functional need that the marker won't function without it. Every marker using an LPR is one where the operating pressure is higher than its pneumatics/solenoid. If the marker's operating pressure was down low enough to be the same as the LPR, the company will always skip the LPR. Realistically they're saving 10-15% on the manufacturing just by removing that component, not to mention all the additional points of failure and confusion from people setting their stuff wrong. I see other people in the comments talking about tunability, I'm sure that's a factor for some but there's no way the mass market cares about it.

    • @Damitsall
      @Damitsall Рік тому

      @@ydna I agree the mass market doesn't care about this type of stuff. Sure the autococker design is outdated but everyone knows that. They need an LPR by design to cycle the marker. Even for instance the brand new LV2 uses an LPR because it's required by design. It's not because the solenoid can't handle it. I'm sure they could have dropped the HPR pressure so low if they wanted too (I don't know what HPR pressure it uses) that they could have deleted the LPR, if the solenoid was the only limiting factor.
      Even a more clear example is the Bob Long Marqs (mostly referring to the Victory models). Those Marqs naturally use an inline poppet engine, but as I'm sure you know they also made the VCOM engine which is a spool. They use a LPR. Then Bob Long made the Insight/Onslaught. Those markers carry a huge amount of their design from the Marq Victory(s), but they don't have LPRs. They operate at similar pressures (HPR) and if I remember correctly use either the same or modified solenoids.
      My point being LPRs aren't there because solenoids can't handle it, they are there because the operation of the marker requires it.

    I would take your side, The M3S may look very similar, but because of the change to internals, it makes it a better marker, but as you said the price I think is a bit steep for what you are getting.
    BTW. Did you get a new camera as of recently? Because the video quality of your recent videos have been even better than what they were? Love the channel, and keep all the news and hot topics coming!

    i had a planet eclipse CS Pro from august 2017-april2018 and used it at least once a week. Now i have a dyem3s and i can say i do not regret the trade. the deck is WAY more technologically advanced and dye got this gun right. i bought a full boomstick kit and it shoots fucking lazers, i havent broken a ball yet and dye has already sent me a new bolt with a completely different design, a new stronger solenoid spring, and a software update. ive already upgraded my guns major internal workings. dye has been an awesome company with customer support as well and they are in CA and i am across the country in MA and im having zero issues even getting my shipments upgraded for free so they make it to my event on time. If you are considering buying an m3s and it is in your budget i would highly suggest buying one of these guns, they look sweet and shoot consistent, straight ropes at a very high efficiency.

    I own an M3s and the DSR. The DSR has less recoil but the M3s I can one hand fire and get zero barrel lift. The recoil is all back. The shot is not as soft as the DSR but I find myself being more consistent with the M3s.

    I used mine in a 5 man woodsball tourney on the weekend. I'd only put two hoppers through it before so it was literally brand spank on the field. It was as ruff as a bag of spanners for the first match but by the time I'd hit the bottom of my second case it was really starting to rock. By the end of the day it was getting nice and smooth and was super silent. I need to try it back to back with my m2 on the same box of paint and barrel to see if there's any difference in shot.
    I think the grip spacing thing makes sense, most of the people that are going to buy an m3s are m2 owners. Knowing the gun your buying is going to be comfy and fit you well is a bonus (the front grip is exactly the same length as the m2 as well)

    Great vid. I would say that pe did the same from cs1 to cs2. Same grip frame. They just thinned the rubber grips. Basically same length between the two as well. So what's left the milling and engine. So that's what dye did. But for 1600 you get everything included. No add on's or missing items. I still think it's high priced but again it's loaded with features. Maybe it should have included 688 gf boomy and aluminium spare back. But overall I will choose dye and other manufacturers before pe. Just my preference.

    I think the video is great. I think the Dye guns all look great, but I guess changing the appearance would've been better from a marketing point of view. Do you think the CS2 looks better than this gun? I do NOT find the CS2 aesthetically pleasing, I think it's a major step back from the other CS guns, and everything else PE has ever made.

    • @PaintballRuinedMyLife
      @PaintballRuinedMyLife  6 років тому +1

      Yeah didn't think it really needed to be in the video. The pockets milled inside the body are to gain additional volume. It helps keep the operating pressure low and is a complex machining operation and since it's inside the gun and it and since the rough service doesn't make contact with anything the finish passing pass is skipped. Just super hard to get tooling in at the angle the would be required to polish an area that doesn't need it.

      Urstin I liked there e trigger frames for autocockers but unfortunately I had a couple of egos prior to 08 (quality control, board issues and poor design) and a few of the first couple generations of geos (rushed, eats orings and board really dim). Planet Eclipse supposedly has great customer service but I ended up selling my ego6 for parts because they wouldn't help. At that time Dangerous Power had about the best customer service. There techs would be on pbnation helping people in the forums.
      Thing is Dye still gets criticized years later for coming out with only a slightly different or improved DMs from 2010 to 15 while they were focusing on other projects but Jack Wood can come out with basically a new geo ever 9 months and it's the greatest thing ever.
      G.I. Sports/ Kee and Planet Eclipse are hugh corporate paintball companies. They have competitive markers in ever price range. Something I wish Dye was able to do. The mini gs, axe 2.0, Etha 2 and geo 3.5 are great guns, but I still prefer the build quality, feel, sound and customer support of dye.
