It seems like paintball went from having fun shooting your friends to trying to make it a legitimate sport and trying to make the best, fastest, most efficient, smoothest guns possible and now we are moving back to just having fun with friends.
SSniper14 PB i think in old Times we had so few practicing paintball. The reason differnt Styles are geting popular comes from the individualismi segments are growing as tournament play has stagnated
PB R M Life covers a lot of interesting topics. Please do subscribe, I appreciate any comments and improvement suggestions. Hopefully you find the chanel interesting enough to get uppdates again when spring comes abougt.
Well I didn't have the money to buy the genuinely good guns of the era, which were easily $1000 and actually held their resale value. I was using BUSTED old Angels, Matrixes, Impulses, etc. The Impulse was actually pretty good, but was such a quirky little gun. The $300-700 range was is extremely good now and those guns can shoot circles around what was kicking around back then.
Ah, yea, my buddy had a soldering kit for Angels he fixed. He'd rather work on cockers lol. I still have my classic timmy and she's never done me too bad. A noid went bad 10 years or so ago and now the ram sleeve might be going but that's it. Plus I never put it through the riggers of a tourney life.
You started playing about the same time as me and I'd definitely have to agree. The guns I thought were good then get out shot by $300 markers of today. Everything is cheaper, more reliable, and easier to maintain.
One disadvantage of 1v1 is that it doesn't really teach you to use low bunkers or snake -- because they are seriously disadvantaged in a 1v1 you tend to avoid them like the plague.
My 1st electronic gun was a bushmaster 2000 , it never broke paint and was super reliable, i had a sic automag too back then , i loved both of those guns. My first was a spyder TL
For pump, I always want consistant paint. The extremely brittle paint is bad for pumps in my opinion. It's too easy to chop that ball or short stroke it.
Push was the shit back in the day. Must have watched it 20+ times. Still have the original circa 2000 VHS cassette. Now I just have to find a VHS player to watch it again on....
Jerad Love Thats because in 2003 Smart Parts were given the patent on the PVI Shocker, and made the wording so broad that they sued every single company that made an electronic gun from when the PVI Shocker was introduced in 1997 and forwards. This patent abuse went on until in 2007 when WDP (Soon to change to Angel Paintball Sports) fought in court, bought the other half of the patent from the creator, and the judge awarded that the Angel V6 was also credited in the design of the first electro-pneumatic marker, so thanks to Angel in 2007, the rest of the industry was free to produce electro-pneumatic markers without paying massive royalties to Smart Parts
Also, id suggest staying away from any GI paint that is below 4 star. Our field uses custom 2 star, and it shoots exceedingly terrible. You can shoot a hopper at a target 30 feet away and wont even have two shots land on top of each other. This has been going on for over 2 years, and i just cant get them to switch paint. Dont even start on the shells, that 2 star has an extremely hard shell. 3 star is a bit better, picked up a case and it shoots much straighter, but still, old Brass Eagle paint thats been laying around for years shoots better than it too. Cant use the 3 star at my field, so i cant give any info on what its like to take a hit from it yet
#pbqt what do you think of the world cup layout? The wall isn't centered but it's still close to. A crazy snake that can lead to some run downs and sneaky plays since its that weird double snake where you can weave in and out of the knuckles. Looks like a bloodbath on the D-Side of the field with a strong snake side
I actually quit playing paintball and airsoft from like 2008-2010 until now because i was so tired of having to bring 2 of everything to every game i played because it was a garuntee that your gun was going to break or something was going to go wrong and you were gonna have to fix it. I just didnt have the cash and knowledge to keep fixing my stuff all the time. Came back about 2 months ago and was ready to spend that 300+ dollars on a gun because thats what i expected to have to pay for something that wouldent break every other game. Turns out my 300+ dollar price range and prior knowledge of the game allowed me to get a used high end gun that ive used ever since i came back and i havent had a single issue with it. Now if we can just get paint prices down.....
1) so you hold a lifelong blood feud with someone from one action? Hell, my friends and I have done a lot of shit that's far worse to each other, and theres no blood feud to be had. 2) by being active on any forum or on any gaming, or on any place where the masses can post their thoughts on the internet, youre going to see a lot more than a 12 year old should see, I mean seriously, have you ever been on online gaming? There are a hell of a lot of 12 year old kids screaming at you saying shit that I would've gotten my ass beat raw for saying, so I have lost my empathy for anyone's feelings if they're active online. 3) you sure drank the koolaid on that one, didn't you? correct, all penny auction sites are shady, but still a legal business. Forced to do the right thing? Dude, did you forget the part where all of the orders from that site were left OUT of court when he filed for bankruptcy? No one in their right mind would leave that out of their files unless they intended to follow through with it. Also, I don't think you understand that 99.99% of the "complaints" about that site were from people who didn't even participate in it, so they should've kept their damn mouths shut and left any complaints to the actual buyers that were involved. I'm sorry, but if I paid $40 for something worth $1500, and had to wait a year or two, but have it actually show up to my door, I wouldn't be going around calling for that person to be burned at the stake. Go ahead and keep attacking someone like they personally murdered your mother, but didn't actually do a god damned thing to you And to end it all. I never once said Mike was the best guy in the world, he's not, I'm not, you're not. He can be an asshole, and has definitely exhibited it before, but he still gets a LOT of unwarranted hate from the idiots that drank the koolaid.
HAHAHAHA. you should take this comedy act on the road. did you even read that drivel you typed? you must be family with mike or some shit. koolaid? lmfao. irony, do you know it?
And you shouldn't hold a blood feud against someone you've never met based off of complaints from people who had nothing to do with the situation (markerbids). And I said that I have no empathy for a kid that runs into ugly stuff on the internet, because he is on the internet where if the masses are allowed to post freely, they are going to post some pretty terrible stuff. Furthermore, I said that yes, that was a terrible thing of Mike to do, but to look outside of the situation, he posted on a forum that called for his blood, so, in those shoes, if I were to post something on a forum that was so vehemently against me, I wouldn't be posting nice things either. Now, I'm going to end this here, because I am not going to hold a flame war on this site, because I can guarantee you that the uploader does not want this in his comments.
#pbqt obviously it's hard to snipe with paintball due to inaccuracies, but is there a mask or setup that you would recommend that you can look down the sights of your marker for woodsball?
#pbqt what are your thoughts on buying older high end guns. I just purchased a excellent condition rebuilt Bob Long Vice which back in the day cost $700+. I paid $280 shipped
most modern high-end markers are just refined versions of the early 2000s high-ends. As long as you take the time to clean, tune, and maintain them regularly they will perform just as well as the modern high-ends
I shoot valken kilo rn and I have a custom parts barrel witch is a .689 and the balls keep braking and are to big for the barrel because they don go through my barrel if I drop them down. What do I do
#pbqt hi! I live i the great white north and the town i live in has one outdoor park. It snows alot here. What would you recommend for footwear? Still wear cleats or go with boots?
What kind of gear were y’all using that broke so much? Lol I had multiple Autocockers, AGD mags, a few shoebox shockers and some mechanical guns thrown in the mix and my trusty Revolution hopper.
high end paint is such weird subject basically its brittle which is BS.. so called Mid range paint is actually better for most markers even the high end paint changes caliber batch to batch. So whats the point if your not a "PRO" ? Another thing is it sells slower so its gets even worst because it sometimes sits in storage wayyyy to long
KE1R4N W Ok, that makes more sense. I was originally going to say Resurrection, but decided to ask what you meant. So now, i can say, definitely a Resurrection. Full barrel kit with solid backs, no inserts, clamping feedneck, on/off (though that ASA apparently is getting a reputation for biting the dust quickly), and it uses the 11/16 valve like the Trilogy and Merlin, so it has a larger volume of air. Macroless might be tough, but doable. Would have to be custom though, i know ive seen someone use a Relay ASA/reg from an Axe to make a gas through frame. As for the modern board, sadly i dont see that happening. Jack Wood said you wont see a new Eclipse cocker or cocker parts, and the guys over at Empire, Inception Designs, and Shocktech, most likely have no desire to make a new electronic frame and solenoid
similar to an LV1 tuned for better efficiency. Just make sure to get a new barrel (Stella/Lurker/freak XL with AA tip) because it is noticeably louder than an LV1
I disagree on a few points. Paint across the board has become worse and more expensive. Going to sub to you ahaha

I see you in every paintball video
I started playing around 1997, the game has changed so much! Obviously! But I think we need to go back to 15 bps psp ramping. Lol
Can confirm that 20% of all paintball sessions from 2001-2006 I were cut short by gear failure. My Mom was a saint for putting up with it
What were you using that failed so often?
Well I didn't have the money to buy the genuinely good guns of the era, which were easily $1000 and actually held their resale value. I was using BUSTED old Angels, Matrixes, Impulses, etc. The Impulse was actually pretty good, but was such a quirky little gun. I love all the different types of paintball out there now!
One disadvantage of 1v1 is that it doesn't really teach you to use low bunkers or snake -- because they are seriously disadvantaged in a 1v1 you tend to avoid them like the plague.
The impact paintballs back in 2008 it was sold at Wal-Mart for 35-40$ and that paint was so much better then any 40$ paint today
My 1st electronic gun was a bushmaster 2000 , it never broke paint and was super reliable, i had a sic automag too back then , i loved both of those guns. My first was a spyder TL
Brad, I seriously forgot how great PUSH was. Thanks for the reminder man! Watched the entire film after your video ha! 👍
Right! I watched it too lol.
#pbqt what is your opinion on magfed paintball and what direction do you think it could go in.
This channel can really make it big!! Great content!
#pbqt what is the best thing to eat before playing? Small portion or bigger portion?
For pump, I always want consistant paint. The extremely brittle paint is bad for pumps in my opinion. It's too easy to chop that ball or short stroke it.
Aaron F graffiti bruh
shot apx advanced and precision for 2 weekends in a row shoots great probably some of my fav to shoot now
Push was the shit back in the day. Must have watched it 20+ times. Still have the original circa 2000 VHS cassette. Now I just have to find a VHS player to watch it again on....
So glad to hear I wasn't the only one that thought the 2003-2007 era of paintball guns were awful.

I hear ya, I normally say I only like the 4 and 5 star.
And nothing has changed

I started paintball in 1995 and guns were reliable at this time, trouble came with the first electro guns but it didn't last long.
My buddy Mat and I would watch PUSH every fucking day!!!!
from my experience graffiti is extremely accurate as well brittle
I started playing around the same time. Miss those days, paintball isn't the same. It's all about cheap and fast now.
What do you mean by cheap and fast?
Ashraven PB was gonna ask the same there’s legit nothing cheap in pb
Your crazy! MY DM6 with the Trama board in it, still keeps up with any electro today and will shoot 9 pods out of a 68/45
same goes for shockers and intimidators (with the right upgrades of course)
Should you lube your gun before you play or right after you play? #pbqt
#PBQT I have a air compressor but no hose attachment recommendations????

BogeyT15 Games - what is your High end gun that you ended up getting? I’m curious !!
Love this channel
Whats the best electronic hopper for a dye dsr?🤔
Strongly recommend Graffiti balls in the T15 👍
#PBQT What marker should i buy, the etha 2 or the gtek??
Casa De Pola Gtek if you wanna upgrade to an oled board in the future. Etha 2 if you won't.
Thx
Gtek.
Also the growth of magfed paintball
TronChris Vs Gaming magfed is sooooooooooo fun
Brad I think I want to get into pump but I'm not sure of it should I just go for it need some help pls answer
go for it. The KP3 isn't too expensive and you could probably find on for around $150 used
I started in mid 03 when did you guys/girls start
I know he gets a lot of hate, but Mike from techpb has a really good 1v1 strategy video

Kevin Scozzafava an e flex. The rubber lest you bend into a position where you can actually aim
alex trevino good to know thanks for taking the time to answer my question

How easy can you find parts I was thinking about building an eblade gun any tips
What loader do you like that will take a beating and will not have much paint bust in the loader
Kc Niessen Spire doesn't jam since it isn't force fed. It's the fastest agitated hopper, technically.
The Valken V-max Plus has a very durable shell and cant jam.
Vlocity, always Vlocity
The most durable ever made is the Dye Rotor. My favorite loader ever is the Spire III
What if people dont want electronic or using highend compressed air, in a pump and cheap in 2018
I shoot valken kilo rn and I have a custom parts barrel witch is a .689 and the balls keep braking and are to big for the barrel because they don go through my barrel if I drop them down. What do I do
Awesome video!!
Thanks!
#pbqt hi! I live i the great white north and the town i live in has one outdoor park. It snows alot here. What would you recommend for footwear? Still wear cleats or go with boots?
#pbqt follow up question footwear for no snow but ground is pretty frozen

In terms of apparel, do you prefer HK Army or Exalt? And why?
I have heard a lot of bad things about HK's quality control and Ive heard nothing but good about exalt
For sure Exalt. Lower price and higher quality.
A good '01 day playing paintball for me would be a day without something breaking.
same
What kind of gear were y’all using that broke so much? Lol I had multiple Autocockers, AGD mags, a few shoebox shockers and some mechanical guns thrown in the mix and my trusty Revolution hopper.
high end paint is such weird subject basically its brittle which is BS.. so called Mid range paint is actually better for most markers even the high end paint changes caliber batch to batch. paintball is basically candy.. let me ask you would you buy stale candy even if its better vs good old heresy bar
All I want is a new budget autococker with modern upgrades and incredible reliability!
KE1R4N W for an autococker, what exactly are "modern" upgrades?
TJ Jahn Smaller bored barrel (for our ever shrinking paint), lever lock Feedneck, on/off ASA, and maybe a macroless design? Just a few ideas.
TJ Jahn Maybe an electric autococker with a more standard board?
KE1R4N W Ok, that makes more sense. I was originally going to say Resurrection, but decided to ask what you meant. So now, i can say, definitely a Resurrection. Full barrel kit with solid backs, no inserts, clamping feedneck, on/off (though that ASA apparently is getting a reputation for biting the dust quickly), and it uses the 11/16 valve like the Trilogy and Merlin, so it has a larger volume of air. Jack Wood said you wont see a new Eclipse cocker or cocker parts, and the guys over at Empire, Inception Designs, and Shocktech, most likely have no desire to make a new electronic frame and solenoid
TJ Jahn Yeah lol but I need something relatively cheap and I prefer to buy new. To bad the only knew cockers I've found are Psycho Ballistics :(
Cheers for the answer c: helps alot, i see what you meaning by hanging out more cause i do to be honest
hey brad how the jt impulse shoot
Raylene Gonzalez They are great shooters.
similar to an LV1 tuned for better efficiency. Just make sure to get a new barrel (Stella/Lurker/freak XL with AA tip) because it is noticeably louder than an LV1
Could you make a review on the Nummech AxePro VLP Frame?
I probably wont be, I'm not really interested in it and I cant imagine there are a lot of people that are.
Paintball is fun at its basic form
#pbqt what’s better the Proto Rize maxed or empire axe
The axe is better, but I'd rather shoot a Reflex Rail than an axe.
Yeah Axe for sure....
Kinda sorta true except I know I can go air up my viking and 07 ego and they’re gonna shoot no problem but my dm5 and lasoya intimidator 😅😅😅
#PBQT what are you most excited for at cup?
kickboarder90 the new gear
1vs1 is so intense. My battle buddy and i play tipx 1vs1
#pbqt I just got my first paintball gun (Azodin Kaos 2) and I wanted to find out how to make or join a league in my local paintball park.
LeftyM e I would mostly play rec for now
open play!! scenarios are awesome too!!! play alot!!!
I like my 2006 pm6 a lot but the rest of my 2006 guns are all broken
#PBQT what’s the best sub 400 dollar gun
Timmy Spel Mini GS or Rize Maxxed
Etha 2 for $400
I disagree on a few points. Paint across the board has become worse and more expensive. In the early 2000s we had more paint companies and an expensive case of paint was $60 which would get you real ultra evil, gap banana ball, or zap chronic. Everything else was $40ish and you could still get paint that a million times better than todays paint like marbalizers. And all the paint was 685 or bigger. Also the pump scene never went away it was always the popular counter culture to the electro arms race of the early 2000s especially in california
Can you do a giveaway
maybe
bro i'm still using shocker sft as my main lol
Why not an NXT?
b/c i paid $800 for my sft back in the day + $350 on upgrades on it haha
i usually found more problems with NXT's than SFT's (that's just me though)
inVIcious lol same here
Gtek160R or Dsr or XLS
160R in my opinion
Hunter Chewing
any reason
IMO
XLS>160R>DSR
again a reason?
I like the way shockers shoot/feel. The 160R shoots pretty well, its very reliable, and is comfortable is the hands. I don't really care much for Dye markers, but if you like the ul frame then it seems like a good marker (I haven't actually shot a DSR yet)
I pay 40 for 2 star at my field and it shoots pretty straight
I shot 2 star once and at 30 yards it had about a 40 ft spread. Plus none of the "balls" were even close to being round. Maybe I just don't have good luck with paint.
SSniper14 PB yeah sometimes it's or sometimes bad but it's cheap enough to practice with for my team
I bought 4 star and 5 star before, and they both sucked. I was pretty disappointed about 3 out of 10 shots were straight, but I agree with SSniper, I think I have bad luck with paint lol
I've been playing since 1989
#PBQT Hey Brad, you've expressed your distaste for HK Army in the past.. just curious as to what your reasons are for not liking them so much...
I just wasn't a fan of the quality. After looking over a lot of their newer stuff at World Cup I think they have improved in some areas.
Wrong....on sooooooo many levels.
