Nice car ❤ , when I was 15 about to turn 16 and get my license i bought a 68 road runner from my friends grandfather and gave him 100 bucks , that was in 85, i put a battery on it and fired it up and drove it home, it was a 440/4 speed with dual carb, s , he thought the engine was wore out cause it smoked but I checked it out and the valve guide seals were gone and cracked letting oil pour in the cylinders as it was running, me and my dad replaced them and put a cam in it and it was wicked lol , naturally I put air shocks on it and cragers with huge 50,s on the back with 12 inch cragers, that's the first car I owned that spun the center out of the crager pulling a hole shot, i traded it for a 69 torino fastback, cobra with the 429 in it and the four speed tranny, well never see times like that again 😢
There's def chatter in the valve train on this 383. I've seen broke lifters and bent push rods in manual tranny cars a lot. If the wheels loose traction while you're getting on it and the motor zings up to 7500 rpm, you get noises like this one has. Or.....it might just be a noisy solid lifter set up.
Could be a hydraulic roller cam. Morel lifters tend to make a little racket. Who cares really? Trying a hydraulic flat tappet cam is like playing roulette. Really expensive when you lose.
It could be this is the very first time he has driven this car and hadn't gotten used to where the clutch engages and the throw of this particular linkage.
This car as is will get all kinds of looks and compliments at the local shows, and you could drive it daily from now on. Put a Vintage Air on it if you just had to. Beyond that just enjoy it for what it is. An ICON of the muscle car era.
Well Nick, I see some bad comments that I do not understand, for I have been shot twice and have shape metal in my body means that I am done with life. For this 69 road runner is worth every Penney and she still stands up with the best of them.
My dad had a '69 Road Runner with the four speed also. I distinctly remember the orange REVERSE light on the lower dash panel, but this one doesn't seem to have it. Did all 4-speed Road Runner's get the light or was this an automatic converted to a four speed?
Ralph Williams used to sell these on Saturday morning TV just like that one in Houston in 1969. 25 hundred and forty nine dollars friends! Exit 8 off the Gulf freeway 😮
That's a beautiful Mopar. What little adjustments it's needing is mostly an easy fix. One could take this walk around video and use it as a punch list over at Bryan's Motor Sports and she'd become the jewel she was meant to be. This won't last long at all.
Back in the day you could buy a used Roadrunner for about 1500 bucks. If I only had 1500 bucks back in the day. Mopar headliners are a pain to install...correctly.
Don't we know it. We aren't in 1978 anymore. You could get one of these or a 70 Challenger R/T 383 for that back then. If I had only had a warehouse to seal them in, with a sign that said Do Not Open Until You Are 50 years old or so.
What a nugget, i had one with an automatic in 1975 when i was 17, if only i had the cash, this will be gone in 48 hrs, good job on the video👌 P.S. I like the shirts, are you going to offer any just like they are with a front pocket with your logo on the pocket also?
Shame who ever done the body work and paint job didn't do any better, looks like it has a good amount of bondo patch work and several spots where they painted over some rust, over all decent 69 Road Runner though. Definitely needs some clutch work or attention and I'd adjust the steering wheel to square it up. Do you consider any Harley Davidson motorcycles on trade in towards a purchase?
Great car Nick, just a few minor things need attention and it will be good to go! Now I need to take some aspirin after getting hit with that oil pan...🤕 😂
Mr Nick Superman Southgate you should go on the voice or agt you have a great singer voice you should try auditions including American idol just look at Kelly Clarkson she from America's idol and where she is now I'm just saying performing local stage you be on the Nashville Grand Ole Opera stage or bigger my grandma always tell me think big why when you can people see how big your really are by not by your feets body heights and heart how you voice is by singing like a wolf or bird both always singing and every human follow where the sound of their song coming from peace and love ❤❤❤
In '77 I had one almost identical- was blue in color. The horn worked. I bolted on some speed equipment on it, including a Holly 800 carb. with mechanical secondaries. Big mistake. Did not have enough cam, etc. to handle the fuel flow. Flooded it a few times. Great car to cruise in. I think it had bench seats.

wowww !!!! 🪃🪃🪃🪃
One of my pet peeves is steering wheel not centered
🙈 😉 🙈
Agree. That drives me crazy.
the front end Needs work..it should be centered for sure
Easy. Buy the car and straighten it. No more pet peeve
It’s facking miles off 😂
When I was 16 my friend had one spun lots of rubber , lots of fishtails lots of fun

The iconic roadrunner gosh what a beautiful car 👌👌
The '69 Roadrunner is my favorite musclecar 😎👍
🏆69 kicked out some 🍀great cars 😎✌️
That car would look good with that pistol grip shifter
Mopar or no car. The Mighty Roadrunner. BEAUTIFUL. Thank you Nick.
❤ i love Road Runner🇧🇷🇺🇸
BEAUTIFUL CAR.... Kind of envious of you Nick, gettin to drive all of those cool cars. MY DREAM JOB
Oil pan flipped the camera, underneath the car was pretty clean to be 53 years old ! Great looking MOPAR nick ! 👍😁
Thanks 👍
Guarantee that seeks w/in 24hrs
I actually flinched when I got punched in the face with that deep pan. I had to watch it again after I recovered. 😊
That takes me back...beautiful beautiful car seeing that mortar orange and 383 looks and sounds like a beast of her time.
I definitely deserve a huge thank you to maple motors for having a road runner remember the Plymouth road runner is my favorite classic muscle car 😎
Meep Meep
Sounds like it needs clutch throwout bearing and synchronizer work
Or it's the return spring under the dash, I've had two cars that just needed a blob of grease on the return spring.
It could be this is the very first time he has driven this car and hadn't gotten used to where the clutch engages and the throw of this particular linkage.
Classic.

Seems to be running a little rich.
Needs the carbon blown out of it
Yeah nice nick its a beauty like these Roadrunners
Mopar guys want a VIN and a picture of the fender tag. Seriously .
Someone removed the fender tag ????
Beautiful Roadrunner. Nice color too.
Well Nick, I see some bad comments that I do not understand, for I have been shot twice and have shape metal in my body means that I am done with life. For this 69 road runner is worth every Penney and she still stands up with the best of them.
Always wanted a roadrunner when I was a teenager. My two older brothers had 69's. I bought a 70 duster 340. Good old days.
Had a 69 roadrunner, 383 4speed , and it was the meanest car i owned
That yellow Roadrunner looks to be in vety nice condition considering it's age. Interior looks really clean.
Straight Facts.🔥🔥🔥🔥
I had one just like this but with black vinyl top, orange & black pinstriping along the sides & bench seats.
My dad had a '69 Road Runner with the four speed also. I distinctly remember the orange REVERSE light on the lower dash panel, but this one doesn't seem to have it. Did all 4-speed Road Runner's get the light or was this an automatic converted to a four speed?
It sure sounds healthy.
Nice ride.
did we watch the same video? Some strange noises coming from under that hood my dude
@@indetrucks
I did hear a ping during the drive over, I was going to go back and listen again but didn't.🤷
It has a exhaust manifold leak kiddies
Nice roadrunner nick my dad had same year and same color and the horn beep beep the horn work too 👍
Love the color, needs the pistol grip for the shifter but other than that a pretty sweet ride.
Looking good big 10
Nice one Nick. It won't last long.
Hey nick this Joseph back with u ready to roll
Looks great, sounds great.
Ralph Williams used to sell these on Saturday morning TV just like that one in Houston in 1969. 25 hundred and forty nine dollars friends! Exit 8 off the Gulf freeway 😮
This would be one of my bucket list cars 🥲
get into it a little more lets see what it well do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So beautiful, I love it!❤

Mopar at Maple Motors!

Beautiful ride 🔥 and a 4 speed 👍 Nick this should sell quick.
Clutch needs bearing and spring.... Overall, cool car.... 😎
Nice driver
Nice Roadrunner Nick, tight and right, sharp looking ride! 😍
Beautiful Mopar you have bro
Beautiful Mopar, though needs minor work
I had a 68. Went through a lot of throw out bearings.
But now you know not to sit at the red light with the clutch on the floor.
Check steering wheel way off center. Loads up quick. Clutch would drive me nuts! Overall nice car foe its age.
A MOMENT OF SILENCE for my
O.C.D
and that uncentered steering wheel 😢
Not all road runners came with power steering and power brakes....back in the days those were called options.
I'd take it just the way it is and make any repairs needed with out bitching. Somethings are dreams even if they aren't perfect
Money talks!
Just your basic muscle car , nice 😊
For that money, that's a beautiful car. Some very minor issues. If it were perfect, it would be 100k.
Looks great sounds awesome
What a nugget, i had one with an automatic in 1975 when i was 17, if only i had the cash, this will be gone in 48 hrs, good job on the video👌 P.S. I like the shirts, are you going to offer any just like they are with a front pocket with your logo on the pocket also?
You need to beep the horn twice like the cartoon character
Now this is a car to
😢HAVE FOLKS❤
I,ll be stop'n by to pay yall a proper visit and place my orders for some a yur inventory fellas. I appreciate yur videos
Ouch Nick, now I have MOPAR stamped on my forehead!! lol
Lol
Mopar Monday!!!!
Decent car for a decent price !! Well done.

No sorry we don’t take bikes in on trade.
@@MapleMotorsNickSouthgate ok I didn't think so, just wanted to make sure! Thank you, have a good day and week!!
The last of the leaded, gasoline machine, 383 4 barrel R/Runner. Fix that squeaky clutch and toe, and you good to go, Nice Nick 🏁💯
fender tag, vin #?
You so evil Nick I likey 😂 but he didn't care about the horn because it didn't go beep beep like the real road runner 😂
very nice
Great car Nick, just a few minor things need attention and it will be good to go! Now I need to take some aspirin after getting hit with that oil pan...🤕 😂
Good call! Lol
Needs engine rebuild but nice.😉
Is it a real road runner or a satellite ?
numbers matching?
Nice !!
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice beautiful car will need a valve adjustment.
I would give like 33 straight cash for that but 40 is kinda a stretch
Mr Nick Superman Southgate you should go on the voice or agt you have a great singer voice you should try auditions including American idol just look at Kelly Clarkson she from America's idol and where she is now I'm just saying performing local stage you be on the Nashville Grand Ole Opera stage or bigger my grandma always tell me think big why when you can people see how big your really are by not by your feets body heights and heart how you voice is by singing like a wolf or bird both always singing and every human follow where the sound of their song coming from peace and love ❤❤❤
Ayy thanks
Is that the lifters needing adjusting. Js

Knew the horn would work.. can't have a roadrunner without the beep beep.
Do you have any numbers matching stuff? I'm not talking bout pricing it like that. Any real numbers matching
UTG Mopar crew incoming with microscopes . 🤣
Right lol they have been doing that. Mopar guys are for sure the hardiest people to sell to. Gotta love it tho , to each his own
Do they ever fix anything on these cars they have for sale ?
yes some things but I'm not about to spend a year fixing on a car to make 3k
@@MapleMotorsNickSouthgate makes sense !
We want to see some more aggressive driving, maybe some drive bys. He drives his cars like he is coming from Sunday school.
Pretty loud tappets
l see the steering wheel is way off needs a alignment.
Does your pa ever worry about you getting a speeding ticket
Nope I haven’t have one since I was like 16. Well that was 16 years ago now lol
You didn’t step on it bro …
Give me the Runner and 25k and I will give you my numbers matching 70 Cuda 😀
I’d say about 15,000 over priced
I could sell this car 200 times if it was 15k cheaper , not to mention I would buy 200 of them at that price
I never said that you could sell it for 15,000. I said it was 15,000 over priced. You’re trying to sell it for 40,000. So 40,000-15,000 is 25,000.
Spare me the music
Sixty eight would be better, Is my opinion
Your sing that song to slow! LOL. That all you need is a You Tube critic LOL Road Ruuner won't be there long nice!
Lol you silly
Needs a pressure plate..😮
Also roadrunners came with power steering and power brakes standard that's a clone hopefully you guys didn't lose too much money 💰
Yes ! 🚦💥----------------------------------------------------------------------------🏁
Nice car!
Needs cam/ lifters/springs aluminum intake and EFI..nice car tho..
Estimated cost for all that?
@VanceMacdonald $4000 + - these days, because you have to go roller cam which means adjustable rockers and custom made pushrods too.
