@@ericchristianjohnsonphd7197 Thanks man! Thinking about doing this more often with my videos. This video was just a lot of wind and paddle strokes lol
You captured some awesome views of square top mountain and the Green River lakes are an amazing place to camp and explore. Hope you had a great Christmas.
This was fantastic, Gatewood!! I didn't even think about there not being music until I read your description after watching. I was completely caught up in the adventure! I like both! Excellent video, brother!!!
Another epic video. A buddy was a backpacker and Wind River Mountains was his favorite area. I thought he said the mosquitoes could be bad. Of course not for a Houstonian.
Cheers to that THT! Those wind rivers are wonderful and a hiking trip is probably the best way to see the peaks and cirques. Luckily the bugs weren’t bad when I went! Got lucky for sure

Wow wow wow. What a day! Man, you really were out there this time. I got worried for you on that second windy lake. I've been missing your videos, glad to see this one pop up!

I've got a video of Texas Kayak Camping coming out in the spring! We went to a river close to where you're describing too so I think you'll enjoy it. Problem with Texas now is that there is so much ground water pumping the rivers don't flow like they used to so its hard to kayak camp some of my old favorite spots. Kinda sad!
I did notice a lot of people do that! While researching the region I saw a bunch of pictures with people paddle boarding around. The wind would be a challenge though!
Wow, this seems like a step up from your more tame videos. Absolutely stunning scenery. One question from a novice kayaker: why an inflatable raft, not short kayak like the ones I've seen you ride previously? You are an inspiration!
Thanks for another awesome, beautiful video. Any thoughts of coming up with some kind battery operated propeller to assist with longer paddles that don't have much of a current. You don't have to worry about having an inflatable kayak like in Texas with all the rocks.
Ya know the regulations around battery powered watercraft give me pause. And out west small inflatable rafts can skirt around some of the regs so it’s been pretty handy. I do want to try some powered craft in Houston though!
@@GatewoodBrown that is brilliant! I would have never thought of that. I live in Orlando, Fl and have been wanting to kayak in other states but don’t want to drive with my old town sportsman 120.

Hello my friend, I love your videos. I’m fairly new to kayaking…why did you take that particular boat instead of the typical kayak?
Because I can pack it into a suit case!! Inflatables are good for paddling places far away. If this was close to my home I would’ve taken a hard kayak
@@GatewoodBrown that is brilliant! I would have never thought of that. I live in Orlando, Fl and have been wanting to kayak in other states but don’t want to drive with my old town sportsman 120.
Old Flat Top is actually a petrified tree stump left over from Paul Bunyan. 🙂

I guess there is no point in bothering with drip rings on the paddle when water is coming over the bow right in your face!
