- You need PRLZ to buy so many things in Splatoon 3's side order, like cool hacks to make your runs go smoother and locker decorations from Cipher. But getting PRLZ can be quite the ordeal, so in this guide, I explore all the ways you could get PRLZ and find the best one.

One tip I'd add is turn off the pearl drone hacks if you arent going for drone set chips. This gives you a slightly higher chance to get the chip tone you need.
That’s smart. Because then, there’s less chips in rotation which would make it easier to get the main type.
I personally farm with the brella, the pearl drone ends up fighting for you by the end of the spire

More lives means more Prlz, good to know. One thing I would have liked to know was how many times floors and vending machines can be reset until the membux used makes it no longer worth doing so.
That varies on your strategy and approach
For vending you want to have at least 300 membux leftover incase you need to floor reset right after. And you want to have over 500 membux after the reset cost so you can actually buy anything.
For floor resets, again depends, but usually after 4-5 you're going in the negative with membucks (won't earn back the reset cost even if you do a rigorous). But that's okay in some cases, like if you're trying to do a monochrome run.
I hope they do something similar like in the story mode where they include in a Update a way to spend the pearls for the online mode. After you unlocked all hacks and bought everything else they don't do anything
There's still a use, and quite like story mode actually...
Cipher will start "today's find" for 100 prlz and it's just the shell drone but side order
Once you have all the hacks and everything from Cypher the only thing to spend Prlz on is continuing runs you died completely on, keeping in mind you don't start with any Membux if you do.
But if you're trying to 1000% Side Order, you have runs where you almost maxed out a chip, and you have enough floors left to do so, I think it's worth using them on trying.

Brush is really good , my first ever completion of the tower was because of it being pretty broken.
Brush isn't good at all but it's rush is a really good mobility tool
I would like to say that monochrome drone runs are worth it. Just don’t do any danger levels, as they have a higher chance of being “no drone.” With only drone chips, it becomes nearly hard to even function, especially on hard and rigorous levels (LOOKING AT YOU SISYPHUS. I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!)

@@DrRank the fact that the game itself says to use them against psychic types, but the damage calcs were done wrong, so psychic was immune to ghost instead of being weak to it
@@DrRank was just using gen 1 ghosts as like a comparison for the common tones. The game SAYS that each palette has certain common chip tones (and I’m sure that was the intention), but statistically they aren’t without using any color chip bias hacks.

I've been trying to work on a highest score possible run just for fun and I think it might be possible with only floor resets and high chip bais on for a 2.7x multiplier, but runs ive tried with this tend to die early because of not getting a chip of the right color, so you'd probably need massive luck, but could get you on the score leaderboard.
The whole chip biase thing actually gets in your way if you are trying to get all the colored chip badges.
You litterally have to turn off Chip Biase to have a chance of getting a certain chip, simply because that chip only appears on a specific type of weapon, and the chip color isnt the same as its most common chip for the weapon
Looking at you Splatling Barrage, Rush Turf Coverage, Extra Dodge Rolls, Brella recovery, Ect
A good tip I have for any color chip badge farmer is to spend all your prlz into all the hacks Marina can give you, dont buy anything from the shop just yet.
Going up the tower with every hack on is litterally easy mode. You can get through Rigorous Danger levels with ease if you know what you are doing (as long as the danger modifier doesnt interfere with whatever pallet your trying to build, like for example your doing a drone pallet, and you get a no drone danger modifier)
This is self explanatory but choose the right weapon that has the most common tone for the chip color you are trying to farm for.
Focus on filling up 3 or 4 chips per run. You could try for 5 or 6 but its highly unrealistic your not gonna be that lucky
Focus on only getting that chip or chips. Keep rerolling the elevator until one comes up or you run out of membux. Or you try your hand at the vending machine
If you are only farming for one specific chip that you need (like the off colored chips for specific types of weapons), its a good idea to pick chips that just have an on/off option. Once you have that chip, its removed from the chip pool, giving you more chances to look for what you want.
For grinding for one chip only, I highly recommend to not use vending machines. It a big membux waster. Vending machines are only useful when you are doing a monochromatic pallet
The Switch app on your phone is actually a good way to tell how many chips does each chip max out at. While in game you can tell you have a chip maxed out, it doesnt tell you how many copies of a chip are they to gain the full benefit until you are in the elevator from the only three chips the game gives you a choice from
Most chips Max out at 5 copies, while very few actually need 9 or simply 1.
This gives you a visual representation on how to plan your run going up the elevator and what to focus on, at it gives you litterally everything you need to know

idk what it says in the video (avoiding side order stuff) but personally on my grind to finishing the octoshot, playing up to floor 10 and then dying actually gives you a pretty crazy amount of pearlz in a very short timespan

Just a small detail I wanted to mention that doesn't add or detract from the already great video, but the different tones have different patterns on the chips! at 6:10 you show that the 5th chip's tone is different by changing the color, but didn't change the pattern.

I was so mad I was doing a min hacks run on Risky rewards and I was down to one life with a vending machine on floor 29. So I get to the vending machine and there’s NO EXTRA LIVES. So I die in the last section of the last phase of smollusk by one of those stupid curling bomb attacks never doing risky rewards again

i did the octo shot run with no hacks yes sure it’ll be very difficult but for me i found it to be very easy
when you buy everything from cipher you can buy a daily thing that you get the next day for prlz

Yeah, you can just go up to any floor and then give up. Going up to the tenth floor is what I do, and maybe if I can survive that ten goes to fifteen.

Does risky rewards activate when you've only partially disabled your hacks or does it have to be fully downgraded for the bonus to activate?
It works, just with a very small multiplier.
If you have all hacks active, it will give you a 10% bonus at the end (it maxes out at 300% with zero hacks active)
But what if I DID use the last weapon I unlocked paired with only the risky rewards and vending machine and membux hacks? even If i didn't clear the tower I'd just get a bunch of PRLZ on the way.
Sadly, not worth unless you're turbo good at the game and super lucky
You end up getting more prlz with a monochrome than a maxed out risky reward
If you start getting PRLZ instead of chips, you can get like 5 prlz; but if you're getting a monochrome chip, esp at the 20+ floors, the bonus ends up giving you like 20+ PRLZ
(SPOILERS FOR LAST PALETTE)
while risky rewards arent the best normally, when you have to go through the tower with eight's palette without hacks, I recommend turning risky rewards on, as it does not count as a hack. when I did this, I ended up with around 900 pearls from that one run.
edit: I just realized that a monochrome run with normal hacks basically does the same thing so nvm

This expansion was such a let down. It’s impossible to beat and literally nothing makes it any easier. It’s just a massive dice roll on whether or not you’ll ever see the end. I’ve played since launch non stop, upgraded everything, done everything the guides say to do online, nothing works. I refuse to believe that anyone has actually beaten this without hacking their game or cheating in some way.
