    To be honest, why I love your videos is that they are natural. There isn't fake enthusiasm that 90% of IRL UA-camrs have, and if there is enthusiasm, I know it's genuine. This is real banter, no made up skits or talk points, no jumping around like clowns and making unnecessary comments or changing speech patterns. And in the end of the day, I see you as a common man doing things he loves, not these posh millionaires throwing around status symbols like expensive cars or houses. I ain't saying being rich is bad, but being humble in your wealth shows character. Cheers !

    The question of "where did you learn it from" If you work in agriculture especially if its a family thing you find that your learn many things on the hoof by necessity. You also develop extremely cunning and effective bodging skills. Anything to not pay another man when you can fuck it up yourself.

      This tracks so much.
      Been a cityboy all my life. But dad grew up on a farm. And his father was also a blacksmith, so he lived in an environment where everything down to door hinges could be homemade.
      Sure did affect how I approach things.

    • @toberwine
      @toberwine 2 місяці тому +3

      I grew up on a farm - I can fix things, but not as well as my Dad! Wish to this day I’d taken more of an active interest in that said of things than I did: instead, I just decided I disliked farming, and switched off. Still, the approach of fixing stuff is ingrained in me, and I’m getting better at it, aged 50!

    Truly admirable to hear Joe state his love for what he does is his prime motivation, as opposed to financial gain, and the trappings of life most people fall for. I imagine the majority go to the grave with their priorities back to front. So it’s heartwarming to hear someone from Joe’s generation reject the prevailing narrative.
    And the humour! Where would we be without our inimitable and blessed British humour! Salt of the earth guys & gals. My favourite channel to date.

    Mr Hewes it’s lovely to see your protectiveness over your family’s and friends desire to be or not be on camera, it’s also good to see your intention to just carry on as your going, 1 idea for a design would be to put a technical diagram or exploded design of a chieftain or challenger on the front or back or both.
    Keep up the very entertaining and funny channel, heavy metal, heavy humour, heavy innuendo and ted take care guys.

    • @anonymousplanetfambly4598
      @anonymousplanetfambly4598 2 місяці тому

      I second this. I really enjoy technical drawings and exploded diagrams, and think it would be a grand idea for a silkscreened T-shirt or hoodie. I'm in the States so a Sherman would be a natural choice for me, but anything technical really would be great.

    It's a way better education than what you'd ever get from wasting one's life going to school and uni!
    Plus one gets to drive huge off-road vehicles that do a multitude of things at a very early age!...for me....those were the Fordson major and Nuffield tractors....and a Zetor just like the one by the apc that those brambles didn't want to part with a couple of weeks back...that Zetor was a blessing....a cabbed tractor meant one didn't get covered in manure while spreading that lovely country smelling stuff on the fields with an open top wooden rear fling trailer!😂

    Joe & Jack. That was the most enjoyable 45 mins I've watched in the last six months. ( and I've seen a few!), Thanks for that at least. You have answered most of the questions I had for you, but the answers were well wide of the mark as to what I'd imagined. I thought you were at least army family. I thought Jack was dif. army, cpl at least and REME driver! Joe, I thought you went to uni, where you were in the ... Can't think of name (CCF type thing). Were military trained somehow. Ditto Adam and the rest of your crew. As to your attitude, to most things, I love the way you think. You are so open and considerate even with the jibes, I am a Patreon with LM, and he said you were as you are: a "nice young man" in effect. He was so right. You all have shot up in my estimation which was very high to start with. And your answer as to why not to work with you : was bang on! There are so many things that are restricted these days, because of stupid actions by others in the past, that have distorted the world we live in today. Thanks for being so down to earth and such genuine people that all of your 200K+ viewers, like you so much. Stay as you are and may you and the crew remain friends 'til the end. You’re right about people worrying about the wrong things… Everyone pretending to be a millionaire, getting themselves worked up if the next door neighbour’s telly is 2” bigger in screen than theirs. It’s a joke, and there’s loads of people in debt that’ll ruin them for life…. Living in a shed but go to work in a Range Rover they struggle to afford to fuel. Whereas the actual people who are doing ok wear holey jumpers and knackered, old jeans :) :) Nowt to prove… You two are real blokes and it’s good to see decent people doing well for a change (I mean happiness rather than wealth, but I hope you’re turning a decent profit too). The litigiousness that you mention is also a disgrace, what happened to personal responsibility? Balls to suing everyone, if you’re acting a berk on a 20 foot drilling rig and fall down the side of it because you’re acting a berk or had a couple too many the night prior, it isn’t your boss’s fault. Keep fighting the good fight m’dears! XXX Congratulations on the 200k as well, that’s amazing! Much love to all at the farm.

    Keep up the good work lads, I used to work on anything from mini vans, land rovers, to Volvo FL10s and renault tractor units, for the county council. I always watch your videos. I came of the tools in 1992, when I started a career in IT. I still repair family and friends cars. #mechanicforlife

    I reckon you answered many of the questions I'd have asked.
    Thanks for a very interesting dive into the background to the channel.

    Thanks for answering all of the questions, I really get a kick out of your videos because I learn a great deal about tanks and the trouble they can be. And it was amazing how much you guys struggled, without Ted. But you did give him credit, so I’m sure he’ll keep you guys around, lol! Keep the great videos coming.😊

    Great episode! Love to watch and listen to Jack. I have said it before, and I will say it again, nothing fits better in the American ear than the British accent.

    I was in the army. During Vietnam. I was a 63 bravo 20. Wheel vehicle mechanic. 4 1/2 years. I became a master mechanic in civilian life. Never worked on a tank before. But I’ve learned A lot when you do your fuel management on your engines. Thank you for your videos. Remind me of me when I was younger.

    Thanks for the video chaps!!
    I am in the process of restoring an old car so I understand a little bit of what you go through.
    I think bringing these metal beasts back to life.is a labour of love and not for those looking to make money.
    This channel is a great look into the British psyche.
    Good luck with the work on all of the projects and with the channel.

    You guys make great videos. Always interesting, no bullshit drama and nonsense for views, no distractions from what the project is all about. It's like a DIY learning channel where the 'hosts' are also learning, except instead of carving some wood, squishing some mud into a pot, or melting some metal shelves together it's fixing and restoring really big death machines.
    Throw the ball again, I have a ball here, hey, throw the ball.
