Fitbit has NFC payments

CONCLUSION
If money is no object, the Fitbit is a better device. On board GPS, ECG, skin temperature monitoring, EDA stress measurements, and NFC contactless payments match up nicely with the cleaner app interface, but at a cost.
If you are on a tighter budget and don’t mind carrying your phone with you, the Mi Band is clearly superior. No app subscriptions, a cheaper band with a larger and brighter display, and tons of aesthetic customization possible. The Mi Band is such an easy recommendation for anyone on the fence about a smartwatch because of it’s friendly price and wide ranging feature set!

After your last mi band 7 video, I switched from my mi band 3 to 7, about 3 days ago. It costs around 50 USD here in Europe but Fitbit one costs 160 USD. So far I enjoy mi band 7. I like to bring my phone with me everywhere I go so I don’t need those extra features from Fitbit. The display is bright. Touch screen is very responsive. I don’t necessarily miss the home button since I can swipe it back to Home Screen pretty quickly. I like that I can personalise the widgets, as well. The watch faces are very beautiful and on some of them, you can edit what data to show. I can also lock my watch with a pin when it’s off my wrist. It’s cheaper, more simple, and sleek with bright, responsive display, and tracks my stats pretty well. It’s a perfect watch for me. 👍🏼

Just upgraded from Mi Band 4 to 7, 💯satisfaction!
Great video! I am currently using the mi band 7 and its been amazing. The battery life, screen, and the functionality it offers is perfect for what i need. Only small gripe I have is that the os seems a bit slow to respond sometimes, but its a minor annoyance. The fitbit charge looks like an excellent device as well. Side note, I looked up Goose the other day becuase of your vids and I'm really enjoying their music. Thanks for the subtle recommendation 👍
It will be awesome to see Mi band 7 against Huawei band 7. Since both of them are budget bands.
Super video! I got the Miband 7 two days ago. It’s super 👍🏻
The camera shutter on the Mi Band is just... Life changing.
Oooh I've been waiting for this.
Mi band 7 would be my pick. Great video btw.
Thanks for the review
Thanks for the review.
what I like about my mi band especially the part where it has 110+ Workout modes is that It tracks Fencing, and fitbit doesnt have a fencing workout mode.
Wonderful review. I'm looking for the smart alarm feature in a watch but I don't find fitbit beautiful enough :/ Any suggestion?
I had a lot of issues with the charge 4, and I wouldn't recommend Fitbit to anyone: the screen was unresponsive, the autobrightness didn't work, the connectivity was bad having to re-sync it periodically, support was bad (only solution for everything, reset the watch and restart), spotify controls only worked for spotify premium accounts... Wrist band broke in less than one year, battery died in less than two years. The only thing I was happy about was the better accuracy of the fitbit vs my previous mi band, but not worth the price.
mi band 7 can also wake u up at the right time so you won't feel sleepy. when setting an alarm just put on smart wake.
Would be great to review how accurate the sensors are.
I gotta say that Mi Band 7 also has an NFC version just with a bit more money (still about half the price of a Fitbit Charge 5).
I have an apple watch but want to go back to fitbit. My major frustration with fitbit is the amount of steps it records when I am not moving. Apple watch does it but not as egregiously. Any advice?
Don't care for gps or nfc. Mi band is a very good fitness tracker. I've tested it vs my polar h10 ECG HRT, and it was only off by 5 points on average in heart rate.
I have a mi Band 7 Pro and for me the counts of calories burned is totally off. extremely low and inaccurate: for 7k steps I got a total of 35 calories burnt.
How did you manage to have accurate results?
Do you sell them, keep them or return them after you did your review? For earbuds, I can understand for anyone to have more than one pair of earbuds but for these smart digital watches, I think one or two is enough and you seem to have a lot. 🤔😁
Great review
I would love for you to make a Mi band 7 pro review whenever the global version comes out. The new band would compete fairly with the Fitbit charge 5. I Iike your reviews
Is the global version better?
Really good comparison thank you
Thank you for watching!
Tried both and in the end decided to keep the Fitbit Charge 5. I just couldn't get used to the awkward shape of the Mi band 7, it looks weird on my wrist. I was looking for something low profile that doesn't attract attention on my wrist as I also wear a regular mechanical watch on my other wrist. Also, the Fitbit UI feels much snappier than the Mi Band, scrolling is slower and not so smooth as the Fitbit. In the end if you are looking for a budget band, you can't go wrong with the Mi Band 7. I can't believe how much functionality you get for so little money.
I'm looking for something similar. A smart band for my right wrist while I have a real watch on my left. But my only concern with the charge 5 is it's width. Isn't it too wide like a real watch? Because I also want a tracker which doesn't get the attention. Thanks if u reply!:)
Hey how is the step accuracy on the fitbit? Is it better than the mi band 7?
Thx a lot dude
Hi i have quick question. will xioami release a global nfc version? thanks
There is no mention of the issue with gps problems , heart rate monitor and band tightness on the fitbit. Getting the band just right isn’t easy and Fitbit is arm waving the problem. For me that’s a show stopper.
Have they improved the GPS on the Charge 5? I got the Charge 4 a few days ago, and I'm kind of disappointed with the onboard GPS. I went on a 6-mile roll in my wheelchair (I checked the distance on Google Maps) and my band was telling me it was 8 miles.
Just wanted to follow up on this.
I have the band set to dynamic GPS now, and I'm using the Bike activity rather than the Walk activity (because the Walk activity goes by steps if it loses the GPS signal) and it looks like I'm getting a more accurate read now. I have to try it with these settings using only the onboard GPS, ,but i think this is the solution.
One thing I seem to be running into, though: When I first start the exercise, it won't register any movement. I have to go back to my starting point, end the exercise, and start it again for it o count distance correctly.
Update to the update: I've kind of given up on the GPS on the Charge 4. I hope the Charge 5 GPS is better. I've been on Reddit looking at the Charge 4 posts, and it looks like a lot of people are having problems with the GPS after the last update.
Will you be making a new comparison video with the Mi Band 7 Pro?
$150 for the fitbit is kinda expensive. In my opinion I would suggest just getting the Galaxy Watch 4 instead. Now if you don't want to spend that much. Then that Mi 7 sounds great. And you got to love there design.
Only thing there is insanely low battery life and way extra functions that you might not need on the Samsung if you just want a fitness tracker.
I get 2 and a half days out of my Galaxy watch 4. It's not like your going to work out a week straight without a charger around. Realistically charging your watch every 2 days is very doable. But if for some reason you want more days out of a charge the $50 Mi Band 7 gives you the 14 days. Why spend 3 times more on a fitbit or even a Galaxy watch 4. But again it all depends on your budget and your needs.
Thanks!
Thank you.
aap video bahut achhe dalte ho clear samjh m ata h
I'm just going to say it, I really like your voice
Hola. Saludos
Not clear what's the value added of the fitbit subscription and if these features are free on Mi Band 7.
I don't see the utility of the FB Charge having music controls if it's not providing the music itself. Most headphones have audio controls built into them anyways.
I actually use the music controller on my fitbit sense on every workout. "Most" headphones have touch controls which don't fit well with sweat. Only my Jabras have physical buttons so the music controls on the fitbit are clutch for me.
Charge 5 don’t have any Music control😅
As someone who runs by himself, I usually have my phone on me in case something bad happens. So the idea of having a tracker that has a GPS built into it has never really made a lot of sense to me. I like the Fitbit ecosystem and the app, so I have the Inspire 2, but if I didn't care about having a Fitbit, I don't see any reason why I wouldn't get the MI band. I have always considered the Charge 5 to be overpriced by a lot.
Your channel is Amazingly helpful! The best part is you think of every possible comparison and I'm like how does this guy know I was thinking the same thing 😅
I’m feeling the touch screen on the mi is not that good from watching ur video please advice
Helpful
Do a comparison with mi band 7 pro pls ~
How well does that waking you up not groggy function on the Charge 5 work? I haven't heard many users talk about this.
On charge4 it works reasonably well.
how do they perform in pool swimming? which and how many stats do they show?
I went to Amazfit 7 as it has larger screen & battery.
Can you tell me if I wear the fitibit in the ocean? I can't find anything about open water swimming proof?
What is the Watch face of the Mi Band 7 in the video. I can not find it in store.
My Charge 4 has both a weather app and music control (Spotify). However the quality of the Fitbit devices isn't great. My display faded to black after 1.5 years and it seems to be a common problem.
What is the MI band 7 watch face you are using?
Is the breathing exercises vibrant or do I need to keep on staring at the band?
The mi band 7 does vibrate during the breathing exercises
are we able to use the Fitbit GPS to track a lost person or location of a person?
asking for a mother constantly worried about her young one get lost in hiking/shopping mall
You want to track your kids? That is a big invasion of your kids privacy. Why not instill some trust in your kids instead of living in your anxiety/fear.
Gps does not work with heart rate sensor simultaneously in fitbit.
No altimeter on Charge 5 is a deal breaker for me. Idk why they dont put this feature anymore
Can the Fitbit 5 actually do payments without your phone being near?
Great video!its ridiculos that after one year the charge 5still lacks a weather app (its a fitness tracker, the purpose is doing workouts also outdoor)and calendar/agenda app, both basic features 🤷🏻♂️
And it's GPS suck. (Charge 5)
Well you do have a phone right? You can just look it up before your workout…
@@supermario9598 you're not understanding what this is all about. the fitbit charge 5 should work independently, without a phone. I would expect a watch that costs me 130 pounds, to warn me if there is worse weather approaching, even without my phone being present.
Mi band 7 also has smart alarm not just fit bit. But remote shutter doesn't exists in my mi band 7, where is this?🤷
As far as the GPS goes I look at it this way for safety reasons I always take my phone on a walk or a bike ride regardless so the GPS wouldn't matter that much to me The phone comes with me for emergency matters that could come up that's all I look at it whatever I'm doing....
I had a Fitbit charge 3 and after two years the screen was fading then died. The battery was gone in a few hours. Fitbit is really expensive but it still is a Chinese band sold with an American brand. Just save money and just buy a Chinese band, not ashamed to show it’s Chinese root. I hesitated with the mi band 7 but finally bought the HUAWEI band 7. Will it last longer that my former Fitbit charge 3? No idea but at least it is 2.5 times cheaper
The entire thing is made in China. Fitbit does not manufacture in country. The guts of all these things all come from the same factories.
Compare fitbit charge 5 with Mi band 7 pro.
Mi band 7 pro have GPS or NFC
Now fitbit is more expensive AND you have to pay for prenium to get more info💀
So would u say the steps and the sleep are pretty accurate on the mi band
ahaha how do u know
The new Miband 7 Pro has just been released and it will disrupt the smartwhatchs and smartband market.
if only they made the miband shorter and with the strap having the same width as the watch itself... as it is it would look ugly on me. Fitbit charge 5 shape is perfect
It does not seem a fair comparison considering the price difference especially when mentioning the GPS. A better comparison will be with the Huawei watch fit. The Huawei has all the advanced features of the Fitbit and still for a cheaper price.
Hi mate are you from Australia? I just picked up your accent.
>>>> mi band 7 pro rolled out, with GPS and NFC variant will release later. So a Big NO to overpriced FitBit.
Mi Band 7 is incrediblely cheap in China😅
在中國賣多少錢?我買了Mi band 7 Global 45$ USD
@@siube 37$ USD
@@julieli6313 yeahh it's cheap in Japan too
@@julieli6313n india, for mi band 6, it almost cost 43$ (3500₹) without offers, but sometimes we can get it for 30$ rarely (2500₹), mi band 7 approximately cost above 55$ india if it launch, but you said that in china we can get it for 37$ it's very cheap😵💀
Now mi band 7 is very cheap , official store just $20 😂
The only thing that's disappointing about the Charge 5 is the lack of music controls.
And you can workout without ur phone with mi band the only features that you will lost is the gps but every features is working
I loved my Fitbit until I didn’t. I first had a charge 3. Two months in and it went kaput. Got a replacement which lasted a year. Went to a charge 5. Same thing. Two months in it stopped working. I got another replacement which lasted 5 months. Very disappointed because I loved the app and the info. I used it for walking and swimming. Maybe I got two lemons, but I will try the mi band 7. I notice that the charge 5 is now selling for $99.00. I paid $159.00. I should have written to the company, but I’m lazy. I still might. CAVEAT EMPTOR. Also the battery life on the charge 5 was about 5 days
fitbits dont really last that long sadly, same situation with my fitbit versa 1
The mi band has stress and active heart rate sensing aswell
My band 7 pro eclipsed the fitbit
Fit bit 5 has a known bluetooth problem they cant seem to fix causes you to loses gps frequently!! Built in gps is a joke kills the battery in 2 hours
Mi price great. Charge 5 has GPS, and better sleep accuracy.
that is the point, if you are looking for a sleep accuracy , take it
The Xiaomi mi band 7 has nfc too
Fitbit 5. Insanely overcount steps. Extra precisely monitor sleep. Your choice.
So true! It also has GPS issues a lot and won't connect. It's awesome monitoring sleep, way better than my Garmin.
How does Mi band it perform with iPhone?
By zepp life app and Bluetooth
If I had too choose from one of these I would pick the mi band but I’m still going to stick with my Apple Watch
if fitbit has a non-italic font, then maybe it's worth buying. that's just me
Fitbit the only tracker which provides you open API.
The Charge 5 stress test asks you to breathe for 3 minutes and gives a reading. That is going to naturally de-stress you so your score is going to come down.
I like the mi 7 pro,it cost twice as much,it looks good
A big no for me about the Fitbit band is the lacking of Apple Health integration. Of course you can sync the device using third party apps, however Xiaomi does that with no issues. By the way the fitbit can also connect to your phone's GPS saving battery life, which is almost mandatory, because tracking long activities using the integrated GPS on the fitbit, kills your battery pretty soon.
Are you Nate O'Briens brother or somethin?
Try mi band 7 pro
Fitbit messed up their Android up. And not to forget, they have a very expensive "premium version" of the app, which gives you stuff you get for free from others.
It's an industry with low barrier to entry - subscription model is the only way they can continue to make money.
Fitbit charge 5 is on sale $109
The biggest advange of the mi band 7 is that you can set a lot of things on the band itself without need to connect to the phone. I had a Fitbit Sense 2 €300 and send it back because of that. You can't for example change the home screen wallpaper on the device, you can't set different goals for an exercise on the device!! How stupid is that? Almost every little thing you have to connect the fitbit to the phone! You don't have weather, you don't have music controls, you don't have google assistant (being fitbit a google company). Plus, they want you to pay a monthly subscription to have access to 2 or 3 gimmicky features! What a load of ******* i gave mine back and bought a mi band 7 for €39 in black friday and worth every cent. The only thing decent in the fitbit was the heart rate tracking and the quality of construction. But as a fitness device, it fails big time, specially considering the price.
Just change from mi band 6 to fitbit charge 5(gift). Feels like lot of downgrade for me......😢
I have purchased the band a week ago and the count of the calories burnt is completely off: 7k steps are worth 36 calories wich is completely wrong if I compare to my pedometer app and with Strava.
Anyone has the same and found a solution? (I pair the band with an iPhone 8)
fitbit is better accuracy
Mi band 5 doesn't measure the heart rate accurately, how about Mi band 7?
The Fitbit is an absolute no for me, regardless of its features. Why? because I can't conceive the idea of buying a product, and then having to continue paying in order to fully use it. It makes no sense for me. In about a year you would end up paying the full price of a proper smartwatch, so why not buy that instead?
Welcome to the modern world where everything is becoming a SaaS product including cars. Subscriptions for literally everything - designed to keep you in an ecosystem and slow bleed your accounts dry.
Bcos they wanna get ur money so subscription it is 😂😂😂
Which one is more accurate? That’s the real question.
If you need GPS function, just wait for Mi band 7 Pro, still cheaper than Charge 5 but with built in GPS, a bit larger battery & display, cost less than $100
Have they announced that coming out?
@@lk963 already releases last week and available for order now, at least in my country
Charge 5 is the worst product i owed since it founding. Waiting for my 3rd replacement i had yet received any update since returning the defective unit. Each charge 5 only last 4-10 months and it will black out and cannot be charged. Bad online support as they simply cannot advise the replacement status😡
Forget the Charge 5. After just a few months the battery will consistently die after just 3-4 hours even with everything switched off. So it's not even just a friggin WATCH. Maybe they should work on making them actually work instead of making them uselessly small.
More features are pointless if half of them collect inaccurate data.
I have both and i will say the sleep traking on fitbit 5 is much more accurate
The Quantification Scientist shows that the Fitbit has some of the best sleep tracking out of all the bands. That is a huge advantage to the Fitbit device.
Given how important good sleep is to our health, that is one of the major reasons I use Fitbit
@@mementomori29231 same here. I wear my charge 5 all the time and the sleep tracking is the best.
answer calls?
Wearables that don´t have built in NFC and/or GPS are utterly useless. My phone also has a step counter, calorie counter, sleep tracker, etc. If i have it in my pocket all the time and put it next to my bed at night, then i really don´t need that fitness band because the phone can give me just as much information.
There's a mi band 7 nfc ver
For 10 euros more so only for the body temperature and gps nut the mi band pro at 100 euros has gps so only if you Carr about body temperature
