I saw Tab live many years ago at a little Hollywood club in LA called the Sugar Shack and man I've never forgotten that performance. His performance was so raw and in your face, that you couldn't help but sweat and feel that and want more. It was intense and exactly what the blues is all about. He is one of my favorite Blues artists. He plays a mean Tele, which is what I've been threatening to buy for awhile. This year is the year. He's got it, no doubt and is the real thing. Peace.
Thank you for posting this. I just saw Tab last week in Kentucky, but the police was hot on people recording, so I just took pictures. This man is unbelieveable. He gives it all he got, to the tune of breaking three strings in two hours, lol. Gonna see him again in August. Can't wait.
Two tremendous talents right there. I first heard Tab on Dan Ackroyd's radio show when "Standin' on the Banks" was out and have been a fan ever since. I'd love to see him play live and wish he'd do a show in Indiana.
One of my best buds happens to be Tab's first cousin and we went to see him at the Cabooze in Minneapolis MN. The man was smokin' on the guitar and vocals. I love Thackery too and have some of his music on CD.
I have been watching Thackery since the 70's when he played w/ the great bar band The Nighthawks ( they're still kicking! ) If you can find the album Live At The Psyche Deli ( a bar in Bethesda, MD ) it is some of the most awsome blues rock guitar ever recorded!! He does about a ten minute solo on the tune "Shake and Finger Pop" which rivals anything Hendrix ever did.....ok, i'm getting a little carried away but you get the picture!
where is J.Thachery's edited solo...??? although i love Tab's playing and i find his approach nice and warm, it is a wonderful complement to Thachery... Thackery is going to go down in history as the unknown guitar god... that's my two cents...
It's funny how Jimmy has a fully equiped pedalboard and Tab always plays straight into his amp :P I also never use any pedals, I just like the clean fender sound and also the vintagy standard fender distortion, so classic!
Amen to that, brother! Ronnie will rock your soul. I used to say that Ronnie would massage the neck while Thackery would choke the shit out of it! And I mean that in the best way possible.
Thanks. Love earlier videos. Moving me as always.
Love this bluesy tune...my favorite of his works!!!

Just makes me homesick, missing the blues and food. Tab is my favorite blues player.
Saw him at the Gretna Festival. He was awesome!!!!!
AWESOME blues guitar licks.....would love to see Tab and Wes Jeans from Marshal Texas get together and do a gig......that would be one GREAT night.
'....Y'know itz been freezin' out here y'all...Howlin' wind sends a nasty chill through my bones..."

Jimmy playing on a Telecaster
I was there, so obvious Jimmy T didn't know what the F was going on, until his solo, and still missed the feel.
