- Chicken and broccoli casserole is a simple, yet delicious, dish. It makes a great midweek meal as you can whip it up the night before, put it in the fridge, and into the oven when you get home. Believe me, the entire family will love it. Served up with some dinner rolls or garlic bread, it is out of this world.
Of course, you can alter some of the ingredients. For example, if you are fan of garlic, go ahead and add some. The same applies to any spices.

if you put the crispy onion rings on top of the cheese when it's almost done and bake for another few minutes it AMAZING! I make this all of the time!

I was searching for a simple broccoli chicken casserole. I just happened to have all the ingredients- all the other recipes had bread crumbs, rice, cream, this and that! I will now always have cream of chicken soup on hand. I only had one so I used a cream of mushroom too! 👍

This is really good, made it for years raising kids, you can add a can of milk also to the casserole and mix it up, you can also add cooked minute rice to it or noodles is another good option, Rotini noodles works well but any noodles are fine, if you want to save a cooking step you can use a store bought cooked Rotisserie chicken for about the same price as raw chicken and cut it up to use in the casserole, I then pour the Rotisserie juice from the container on top of the casserole then bake, adds a good flavor. this is really good with french or italian bread on the side.

Dave, cauliflower works well in place of broccoli if its on sale. You might want to blanch 6 to 7 minutes if you use cauliflower, and of course cut into florets, but if you go by weight, sometimes cauliflower is a better buy, have a good day friend

My recipe is different and has more depth of flavor IMO. I use the roasted chicken from the store and remove skins + bones. I add cream of chicken and cream of cheddar cheese campbells soup with some milk. I add seasonings like onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and saffron. Next, I add frozen broccoli, chicken cold white rice (must be cold), rice, 2 cups of cheddar jack cheese, and peas. Heat everything up. Then I place in a 9x13" dish. I also toast some plain breadcrumbs with butter and sprinkle on top. Bake 25 minutes at 350F. Comes out delicious. Boiling the chicken is bland, I prefer using roast chicken. Also, milk is needed because the soup is too thick. The rice make it a complete meal where you have your vegetable, starch, and protein- so you're left more satisfied.

The only thing I would do differently is add some buttered crackers on top of the casserole before baking. Or even add the french fried onions as a topping also. Love a good crunch on top of a casserole like this. Can’t wait to try this.

Yum! I added a layer of leftover mashed potatoes on top of the chicken followed by some leftover green beans, followed by broccoli and a can of mushroom soup and of course the cheese. Everything in the fridge must go! So quick and delicious!!

I was looking for the "classic" chicken and broccoli casserole. Although those other recipes are probably just fine, they weren't close to what I was craving. I just want something that was the perfect "comfort" food. Dave you nailed it. I love how you say in your videos that we can add what we like, so I added cooked rice to this dish. AMAZING. The house smells tremendous. Absolutely delicious. I'm going to try your spaghetti and pepperoni dish next. Thanks and keep 'em coming.

Made it today..it was delicious. Shared with my neighbor, she loved it. I had some small gold potatoes I cooked with the chicken sliced them up and put on top, the cheese made a great crust on them. So easy to make will do it again.Tks

I love this recipe but what I learned a long time ago is that I cook the broccoli n chicken as u but I add 1 cn cream of chicken soup n then mayo n some curry powder to mixing bowl then mix in the broccoli n chicken n cheese n add to casserole dish n bake. curry powder is delicious in this recipe. Recipe can have crumbled ritz crackers. yummy

It's delicious as a side dish, but I love Rice and if you layer the bottom of the dish with rice, then add the chicken and serve the dish with a small salad, you would have a complete meal. Don't add so much oil, it's better to use a spray oil , such as PAM, and drain any excess oil with paper towel. Enjoy. Cindy Smith...grandmother...Central Florida, USA.

For the final touch, I add saltine cracker crumbs sprinkled on top of the cheese. Ritz crackers are good as well.
