I tried one last week, with the orange stripe, mate gave me one. I had no issues with the stripe on the fairway, found it easy enough in the rough as well. But I really liked the feel of it. Felt great of all the clubs and felt great putting it. The line was great on the tee and lining up putts. So good I bought a dozen the next day.

I played 27 holes with this ball last weekend and I'll say that if found my new ball. I love the feel and it really shows a miss hit with the putter. Also it's cool to see the spin coming out of the bunker. I'll be replacing the tp5x with this for sure.

I have done a bit of testing with practice putting at home and I am am close to the same decision. It feels awesome off the putter face. I have to wait a bit longer to get it onto the course. But my TP5x balls won't be replaced after I lose em lol

I found purple jeans and I'd say I found my new pants. It really shows the bulge in my crutch. When I fart, a purple haze comes out and I can feel the density. It's cool to see my shoes as they are skin tight with no flares. I'll be replacing my blue jeans with this for sure.

I’d assume the yellow part helps with making sure the ball is straight when putting as well? I know a lot of times when using the normal lines, you can line it up and the ball isn’t flat

i had my first round with this ball yesturday and i loved it! I shot my lowest ever score at my club, breaking the 80 barrier for the first time. Im not sure hom much the line helped, but it feels as good as a TP5 to me. My one criticism would be the colouring can be camouflage if you find some slightly longer stuff, but i wouldnt be suprised if some other colour variations were already in the pipeline.

5 months of the year in Ireland and England November to March most if not all parkland courses are lift clean and place. So you could essentially use it as a winter ball and help improve and align your set up for those winter months.

I played the ball last Sunday for a full round. Off the tee and open fairway, the stripe was weird at first. After a couple holes, it was no longer a distraction. I bought it for lining up my putts and that is where it shined! It really helped me all around the greens. $40 a dozen and it's my new ball.

I never use ball markings to line up putts, but I do love watching the spin on half/half colored balls and others with bold markings. Only going to use markings for line up on the tee if my target is at a big angle to the tee box.
AS many have noted, lining things up can slow things down-especially when you change your mind about the line after your initial "setting". That's why I quit and simply play the ball. I found myself standing over putts where the line had changed in my mind making the initial line-up incorrect. Now it's always a round ball and the target and stroke are all I have to focus on.
Just bought three dozen of these because they test out with good quality of production numbers.

I've been playing the Tour Response for months. It's a great ball for the money but when I use a Pro-V1, I have longer drives and a slightly better score. Could be coincidental that I am just playing better that day, but thought I would share. You can't go wrong with the Tour Response.

I played 18 with this ball last weekend. It feels amazing. Great performance. However, I think they need to keep an eye on quality control. I had several balls with what I assume was urethane drip. Not sure how greatly it would effect, but the ones that had it, had 5 to 6 drops square in the middle of dimples.

I love golf balls like this. I struggle sometimes with swinging too far from the outside, so on a challenging day with driver if I point the line a little bit right it just helps serve as that last second reminder to swing a little more from the inside.

I bought a dozen of these over the weekend and played with them on Sunday. My score didn't improve dramatically with these balls, but I felt SO MUCH MORE confident putting. Something about that line and knowing that you've hit a perfect putt when it doesn't wobble is so satisfying and confidence boosting. I didn't notice too much of a distraction when the line was "off" on my fairway shots either. The TaylorMade Tour Responses have been a favorite of mine the last couple years, so this is just another feather in its cap when it comes to choosing a ball.

Probably worth mentioning that this ball is also available in an all-white version as well, so if the neon full stripe is off-putting that much but you are looking for this ball purely from a cost-to--performance standpoint then you can still have all the same benefits apart from the potentially difficult full stripe version. Cost is the same from what I have seen.

Been using the ball for the past 2 rounds. I have come to like it a lot. Off the tee I can see by aiming line, fairways we pick, clean, and place so it helps there as well. From the putting aspect it helps me know if I mishit the putt or misread the line. Overall, a great ball with some added aiming aids built in. Use them if you want but the ball itself is a good mid handicapper ball.

Rick, thank you for another great video. I have put a homemade stripe on mine for years. On the green and tee box it helps a ton because I swing right handed bit have a left dominant eye. So my perspective and line up could be off without the aid. On the fairway it was at first a little uncomfortable but over time morphed into a benefit because I concentrate on different aspects of the shot instead of just the ball.
    Thanks again

Here in Spain, we play puck and place on every fairway shot (something I’ve only just learnt). Hence we can line up the ball except in rough or sand. Might be interesting to try. I like the TP5 and TP5X but am currently using the Pinnacle Rush which for I love and is virtually half the price.

    @TeddyCavachon 2 роки тому

The critical variables for straight flight of a golf ball is having the club face squared to the target at the moment the compressed ball releases off the face. The thing many don’t take into account is the slight change in face angle relative to target as the ball compresses and releases which with ideal swing mechanics will put some degree of hook spin on the ball if the face is aligned square behind the ball at address. For a golfer with good swing mechanics to hit dead straight shots they need to set-up at address to strike the ball with a slightly open face to anticipate the dwell time and angle. The better the golfer gets at staying in balance - which allows them to swing more forcibly to the point of optimal ball compression - the more the understanding and compensation for the compression/release dwell angle needs to be incorporated into their set-up. When using a ball with an alignment line the line should be set to point right of the target line a few degrees with the face open the same amount at impact if dead straight ball flight instead of a controlled, predictable push-draw is the goal.

I wanted to mention a point while I'm watching @Rick Shiels. Even when the line on the ball is pointing in an awkward direction, (5:40) because there is still some kind of marking to go by, once you line up your shot and know where you want to hit on the ball, the lines still help you keep that spot. Hope that makes sense. Just wanted to put that perspective out there, they seem great so far, can't wait to see the results.

I have been playing the Calaway golf balls for years and a couple years ago started using the trple track Chrome Soft Calaway. I decided to give this Taylormade Tour Response ball yesterday. I enjoyed putting this ball quite a bit but I have to say I was 15 yards shorter with my driver and it felt "heavier" coming off the face of my driver. I hit it 5 times on holes where I need my drive off the tee and I also hit my triple track. I was always longer with the triple track than with the Tour Response. It did feel pretty good with my irons. The only place I prefered it though was putting with it. I will be keeping the triple track in my bag. Thank you for the review though. I appreciate your honest opinions.

I like what he said about lining up the ball on some putts but not on others. Personally I like to use a line when I’m hitting a putt that I want to hit straight at the cup or just off the edge. On longer putts with lots of break I like to play more feel so setting the ball the other way would help there.

Be Better Golf had a video that showed, I believe, Rory from this angle - it was rather eye opening. From what I gather, the video was taken down - perhaps it was because of the angle? Unless I'm blind or having a severe lap of memory this angle isn't shown in the media

Been using Srixon divide in winter pairs and has been really useful. It’s a good ball anyway (Q star) and both me and partner who typically use different balls have found we can both play well. In winter it really helps locate ball in rough etc and that can help in match play if opponents white ball hidden in frost somewhere. It also oddly seems to put opponents off a little. Just bought some of these for my two lads for putting practice and it really helps for juniors to line up the line with the hole.

I ordered a dozen of these to try because the idea of that line is really interesting but to your point....after you hit the shot off the tee or fairway and the line is pointing in a random direction instead of where you want might be a bit bothering. I am going to give it a few rounds and see what I feel after, but even if they don't workout on the golf course they will be great putting aids on the practice green or at home.

Rick, I’m a little OCD and would likely have the same issue as you standing over a misaligned stripe on the fairway. However, just seeing this ball for the first time in this video, I think I would love it on the green. The rules allow you to use a new ball on the green, so I think I’ll buy a dozen and use them only to putt with and see if it helps my putting. Don’t think I would use them tee to green though.

Tee shots or approach shots I never line up using the ball as an alignment guide. I pick a spot about 12 inches or so in front of the ball and line my club face up to that line. I never use the ball as a reference for alignment. However, these would be awesome on the greens...much easier to align puts than the thin black lines.

I think that's there is great merit to the pronounced line. It is a great training aid. I do, however, think that the line becomes the only focus. I like using the line squared the other way to guide my club face orientation, which i can't do with the normal thin centre line. As someone who balls with the face coming through misaligned, this helps loads! Putting it promotes confidence. And with with durability and soft feel. It's the future for the mid handicapper.

I just bought this as my first premium golf ball. I am entering my third season playing the game and have only bought Cut brand my first season and played with gifted sets of Callaway Warbirds and Superhots and found balls the last two seasons.
I feel that the alignment “issue” in the fairway won’t be that big of a deal as it is the same issue when the brand logo is showing and is “off line.”
I like the idea of increased visibility as I tend to lose my ball when looking for it. I hope it helps!

This ball has really improved over the yrs. I play the TP5x as my standard but in a pinch I'll use this ball without hesitation. I actually have some of those putting wheel ball things and this is just a full ball example of those. Great training tool for putting and lining up putts IMO.

I won't be taking tp5 pix out for these. Would have the same reservations as you about 2nd/3rd fairway shots

Over thirty years ago Ping introduced a two colored golf ball, half red, half white as one of several color combinations. I liked it for alignment and seeing how true you hit your putts. If you hit the putt square you could see clearly each side of the ball as it rolled to the hole. Ping stopped selling them after a few years.

I played a few rounds of golf with this ball last weekend and I loved it! It's my new everyday ball. It was awesome to see the stripe on the green and watch it roll. I highly recommend trying out the new TaylorMade Tour Response Stripe golf ball.

I got me a box recently because of its medium (70-ish) compression combined with urethane cover, and out of interest for the stripe. Loved it instantly. Lines up with driver and made 4 longish puts last round that I'd usually would miss. I was worried a fairway shot would be awkward because of the stripe not being in line, but it didn't. There's classic white enough there not to distract me. Will but more now. Well designed Taylormade. I may have stepped off of your putters after 15 years, but you are still making my bag.

That line up line would be amazing when you Sally gunnell one along the ground and you can see it rolling perfectly straight into the rough in front of the tee box.

Like the idea but I've struggled with all TP5 variants, the tend to randomly balloon on 2 or 3 tee shots...switched over to the AVX this year and have had zero balloon issues

I don't use the alignment on a triple track or tp5 but I really benefit from the Callaway Chrome Soft TruVis around the greens. It really allows you to see how much spin your ball has and knowing if it'll check up or not. It really helps during practice but totally translates to course play. I love it and it never is in a odd position in the fairway like a triple track

TP5 pix the best Art Deco ball. Pattern is random so none of the negatives you talk about but retains descent alignment line for putting.

Played one round with these. I found that if I was able to put my hands on the ball to align it, it was great. If not aligning it (fairway, rough), it was easy to just ignore the stripe - pre-shot routine takes over.

Like the new animation on the green, showing where the ball is and the line. Nice feature! Still feels strange seeing Rick in a non-Nike top, but the J. Lindeberg looks class. Will try these balls!

In Australia, these are currently retailing for the same price as the TP5/TP5x. I love the stripe idea as I apply a line to my golf balls anyway. Could be well worth a try.

I read or saw on one of your video’s you can’t mark a full circle around your ball is that true ?
If true how can they make these balls like this ?
Good to see you back on the course again Rick !

I have played a couple of rounds with this ball. The durability is fantastic. I played with the same ball for 36 holes and I reckon it will go another 18. Great off the club and soft off the putter. And visually fantastic. Although a little hard to find in the rough depending on how it lies. But all in all my new favourite ball

following up on what Rick said about the ball target and the flag target; I think the best thing for golfers to do would be to buy a 3 pack of these at your local golf shop, go into your living room and just work on getting the line to roll straight.

When it comes to putting if I change my mind about the line while I'm over the ball it makes it difficult to make adjustments and trust my new read.
