People don’t always realise or understand that the meat, chicken, fish, any type of animal food bought in a supermarket, comes from a live animal. That the eggs they buy are from chickens kept in tiny cages, never seeing daylight, nor able to walk. That a lot of the time these animals live in situations that they wouldn’t like, that their life ends in an unsatisfactory way. A hunter like Shane loves animals, takes care of them, takes pleasure watching them, learns from them. When it comes to ending their lives for food, not pleasure , it is done in a humane, quick manner, with the animal having no clue as to what is about to happen, not queuing waiting for the inevitable to happen. We can’t, nor should we, expect our preferences to be adhered to by everyone. Thank you Judy, for your video on such a sensitive subject x

So true. I laugh every time I remember a young adult complaining about hunting etc., her thought was we have grocery stores for food! It must rank up there in the top stupid statement category! Not to mention we can’t depend on stores. You never can control what could happen in public. But growing and harvesting is the only guarantee. And then we still depend on Mother Nature to allow our gardens to produce.

Thank you for explaining that you and Shane feed the deer year round and that you enjoy watching them. I would do the same if I didn’t live inside city limits. A lot of people up here feed the deer to help them survive the harsh winters because their natural food is scarce. I loved hearing that Shane hunts and helps feed people in need in the town where his hunting camp is. He is a very compassionate, responsible hunter. Thank you for another wonderful video. It made me think back to my childhood and how some families who weren’t as fortunate as others and had to rely on hunting and fishing to provide much needed food for their table. 💜🥰

Good morning - dancing INSIDE on this cold snowing morn in Niagara Falls Canada. Aunt Judy, like I said recently on a video, we mirror each other's lives and thoughts in so many ways. The first time my oldest brother cooked up his fresh moose burgers, I gagged and gagged til I puked. Needless to say I didn't come close to finishing that burger lol. Fast forward 5 years - I tried and LOVED his deer jerky - a lot! Also tried his deer sausage and didn't mind it at all. I've never liked sausage of any kind so that's a miracle in itself haha! Have yourself a great day!💃💃💃❤❤❤

Thank You so much for this video. My grandfather grew up on a farm. He was the oldest of 14 children with a 4th grade education. He was working the farm while other kids were attending school to help feed his brother's and sister's. After taking care of the farm he would often go rabbit hunting for dinner for his family. He would often keep two rabbits to feed his family and any other rabbits would be sold so that the money went to buy other things for his family. I grew up hunting with my grandpa, it was unusual because most girls in the 70's didn't go hunting. Everything we hunted for went to feed family or those that we less fortunate than us. Both of my grandparents grew up on the farm and both their parents lost everything during the great depression. My grandparents always had a huge garden, I knew that they couldn't eat all the food that they grew, so they would put fresh fruits and vegetables in paper sacks and I would pull a wagon to all the home's around our grandparents, set sacks of food on the door step, ring the door bell and head to the next house. Grandma would get with the neighbors every harvest and she would have canning parties. All the kids would help Grandpa harvest the crops, a group would get everything ready to can and Grandpa would barbeque meat on the grill. I have so many memories. Grandpa taught that food was not wasted and we always gave to the less fortunate. Judy again Thank You for sharing your life with us! Thank You for reminding me of the good ole days. Much love from our family to your family 💞

Judy, I’m just like you. My grandparents lived on an 80 acre farm in Macomb, OK. They had cows and chickens, and my grandpa kept bees. I had no idea about where meat came from. Now I know. I have a hard time with it, but I still have the occasional burger. I don’t know how to get past knowing that people shoot deer and cattle are slaughtered. Part of it is taking care of animals humanely before slaughter. Anyway, I’m so thankful that your husband feeds people in need. God bless you sweet girl! 🤗❤️

Judy I mix regular hamburger meat and venison burger together and brown it up and use for spaghetti, chili, tacos, hamburger helper, vegetable soup. I also use both in meatloaf. Venison cube steak is wonderful and so much more tender than beef cube steak. I like to marinate a tenderloin in moores then wrap in bacon and cook on the grill it’s so good. I’m so glad to hear about Shane helping those people out.

God Bless You Judy. I have eaten deer meat and bear meat. I love Bear meat the way I cook it. It’s never greasy. I have actually been the butcher for a many of deer that my husband’s friends have killed. I ate deer meat for a long time until one midsummer day I heard a baby deer crying. I left it alone and let it cry for most of the day praying that its momma would come back for it. Well she never showed back up and I finally climbed the hill and went to get the baby, it was all wrapped up in my farm fence. I untangled it, brought HER home and she became MY ANGEL. I loved her and she loved me. No more deer meat for me. But I am glad that we still have hunters around. The deer, bears, raccoons, skunks and coyotes are growing in population numbers FAST.

    Awesome video. Great explanation.
    Genesis 9:3
“Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.”
This verse from Genesis establishes that God gave permission to humans to eat animals as a source of food. It signifies that animals are meant to be a part of the human diet.
Scriptures also emphasize the importance of responsible stewardship and humane treatment of animals. God’s original intention for mankind was to live harmoniously with all creation, including animals, and to take care of the earth.
So what you were saying Judy was so right.

25:15 Ms. Judy, how much are the little alpaca toys? Oh my gosh! My cat has had one for years. It’s her baby. I’ve sewn it back together a million times because she carries it around in her mouth, she plays with, and sleeps with it. @ yes that’s what the one my cat has is made of. It’s super soft and fluffy. I know some do them like they do the dryer balls they make with it, and some are just like it came off the alpaca with tanned hide with the fur sewn into the shape. I’m assuming that’s how it’s made. It’s got a backing like leather. I bought hers at a craft fair probably 5 years ago.

I agree with hunting for food and I did hunt in my younger years but one thing that's done in your state that I don't is baiting deer meaning putting out corn all year which makes them feel safe. I know it's legal there but is not here in Tenn because Baiting can concentrate animals in feeding areas, increasing their exposure to diseases.
    Habitat damage
Baiting can lead to an overabundance of wildlife, which can damage the habitat.
    Aflatoxin poisoning
Corn put out for deer can grow a fungus that produces toxins that are toxic to game birds.

Hey Aunt Judy ❤ I was raised in the country but my uncle raised pigs and cows and I was at there house a lot and I would go out and talk to the pigs and to the calf's and I loved on them so needless to say the day came to load them up. The next time I was there I would ask where porky was and where May the calf was he would make up a story to tell me, he would say that May moved down to his Mom and Dad's house and he told me for alone time that the pig that was out there was porky I knew it wasn't but I would believe him because he always kept a pig in the yard for me, and I love that about him. Has I got older I understood and then I was the one that would package the meat and ground the sausage up and hang the meat in the smoke house. But I'm not a hunter, I just can't but I will cook it. Love y'all and God bless you and your family and all the animals and feather's ❤

My dad would deer hunt every hunting season. I’m an animal lover. I’ve also understand if we don’t allow people to hunt deer, they can become overpopulated. Which would lead to shortages of food sources for the deers and an increase in diseases that deers can get. There would also be an increase in car accidents and they can be hit by cars. People need to look at this whole picture…

Same with the pioneers that settled this country. There were no stores or fast food places to go to. I was raised in the country and the kids had guns in the window of their trucks. They knew how to respect the animals. Hunting was normal and it was done for food, not sport.

(No, I didn't eat any, they didn't fix any then) I was never raised to hunt or even use a gun. Dad had guns and a rifle, but he never taught my brother or I to use them. Anyway, I was raised without hunting, but I understood where meat came from. We lived above a farm that raised pigs and butchered them . (Dad was in the Air Force, and we were stationed in Germany) My brother and I sat and watched them take the pig and tie it to a big barn door dispatched it and then proceeded to butcher it. I was always fascinated by the precision in how they did stuff and how quickly they got it done. The blood and stuff didn't even bother me cause I was so interested in the process. Both my brother and I were. Then we'd get bored and wander off to play in the field or pick fruit of the trees and eat them. Anyway, I was raised a little differently, too.
You are such a sweet and kind-hearted person, and for anyone who says anything like that, well, they must not watch you enough to really know how you are and how you and Shane are. You are so amazing how you handled the negative comment. You left it there and spoke directly to those people and other people who might say the same kind of comments. You gave them a little insight into why hunters like Shane hunt. Shane is also very kind-hearted as to why he hunts. I've heard others on the channels I watch that also hunt and bless others with their bounty. Some people just don't understand and may never understand the reasons why some people do what they do. And also there are those that want to change your mind to not do stuff and do it thier way. 🤷🏻‍♀️ At least, Judy, you gave them and us a little insight into why and what y'all do with the deers or whatever is harvested and if they don't like it, cause you're not going to change it. They can move on cause this is how you and Shane are, and you tell it like it is, and, well, they'll either stay or move on.🤷🏻‍♀️ There's not much else to say about that!
Love you, Judy, and your wonderful hubby, Shane. You have a wonderful channel, and you love your animals and show respect and care for the wild animals in the forest. God bless.😊❤

I tell people all the time if you didn't have farmers you would not have vegetables, pig farmers you want have bacon and ham, cattle farmers you want have hamburger, roast,or steak to place on your table to eat. And if you don't hunt you want have wildlife to eat and a healthy wildlife environment. My great grand parents are wildlife because they had little money to buy meat, then my grand parents had a little more an would eat wildlife and other meats.

It's okay not to wear orange as it's your property and okay to walk up on Shane. I highly doubt a Deer is going to sneak up or walk up to Shane..... LOL

I certainly will never judge but do appreciate a warning so we don't have to view if we choose not to. You shouldn't have to explain yourself but I did listen and do understand. I must admit I found it upsetting when you were talking about how you wouldn't shoot an animal you've been feeding in a fixed area with corn. You went on to say if it were a 12 point Shane might kill it. That right there tells me it's about the trophy not feeding the less fortunate neighbors. And trophy hunting is ok if that's your thing. I will continue to watch you Judy and respect your point of view. And.....I too would hunt and know how to use guns but would only do so if I were starving :)

You need to get rid of those things. They'll find their way to your home and boy the damage they can do.

A lot of people don’t under that wildlife has to be managed just like pets and farm animals. Pets and farm animals can be pinned up or have surgery to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Wildlife doesn’t get that. They are hunted to provide food, leather goods, etc. It also keeps them from being ran over by cars. There’s nothing wrong with hunting for food for yourselves or others. Don’t just waste an animal by killing it and leave it laying. Add some fat to your ground venison, it might help the taste for you.

Opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one. Keep doing you Judy! If hunters didn't kill a few deer they would become a danger to the public. Disease and running in front of vehicles too. Would I eat or kill a deer, no but if you do it is not anyone's business.

Hunting is better than the way they do feeder beef they stand in mud & poop 24/7 till slaughter time in a jammed pack barn . It's a way of life your fast food hasn't always been around and most hamburgers from fast food are half soybean

I am anti hunt and a Vegetarian, before you start screaming. I understand why deer are shot, beef and pigs are raised for meat consumption. It is the senseless killing of deer that bugs me just so they can have a trophy on the wall. I watch loads of Home steads that hunt for the freezer and also donate meat to people. They raise pigs and cattle for eating as well. Most people do not have a clue where the meat comes from in the supermarket. Plus a lot of people have no idea where milk comes from. 🙃🙃🙃

Judy, respectfully your private life is your own business but I would not film and promote killing any animal. Shane can help feed others without killing a deer. In my opinion you hurt your animal rescue page by posting videos supporting hunting. Surely you have more positive video content ideas.

I'd be willing to say at least 75% of people have no clue were their food come from. It's sad that this is not taught in school so people grow up knowing where their food comes from . What it takes to grow and raise our food. It would make a difference in the way they consume their food and what they eat
