Such a sweet horse, I'm glad she was tried and I feel like there's a good chance she can be saved as long as no huge extra problems are uncovered. Our rescue got a 28 year old gelded thoroughbred that was in worse emaciated condition than this one plus he had some wobbler syndrome. The vet said she was skeptical it was worth trying to save him but he made it all the way back to decent health for his age and the wobbler was mild enough not to be a big problem for a pasture pet. He was a good boy too, kind of a prankster but not mean or anything. He tried to act all aloof but he loved neck scritches and was very smart and a faster learner.

You can tell how sweet she is and she has such a soft eye. Thank god you took her in. My heart breaks for the unfortunate souls that end up being purchased by kill buyers 😔
Thank you for intervening, thank you for not looking away and for choosing her. And even if it might mean you have to make a tough final decision. In the end it also means this sweet heart was not just thrown away, she was not left alone to suffer a prolonged, excruciating, painful death in either a kill pen or a slaughter factory… It will mean, that eventually someone did care, and that she mattered.
I’ve watched this video multiple times. Can’t get over how sweet she is, despite her neglect. Looking forward for the update, and sending all the healing vibes her way
So thankful to you for helping horses so in need of help. You're not afraid of an older horse to rescue and that says a lot about your compassion and passion for helping horses.
blusurf - You put that perfectly. Absolutely agree. CC thank you for making the choice of horse that you did, she can now rest, eat and feel the care you give. Maybe you could call her Hope.
Hope is the name I thought would fit her. You could see the change in her eyes in the shorts. She went from resigned and hopeless, then gradually brightened up and started showing interest in Clever . Hope was back at the end of the second short.
I love how you show and share all your thoughts and actions And when you called her and she walked right to her I saw her fearlessness or thankfulness...yes.. with wanting to join you. Love your passion You love for horses has actually interrupted my life in a most inspiring way. So thankfully you share details. Love and blessings to you

@@Cleo.R I don't think they could. I'm sure the only stud CC had was studman until he to was sorted. I may be wrong 🤔 either way I agree. The Mare is in no condition which is alarming if she is pregnant. But the Mare demonstrates remarkable spirit and determination already with CC care, attention and devotion. I've got my fingers crossed and positive thoughts sending over the Atlantic that there is no serious complications found when the vet comes and it is just a case of time, nutrition and love the Mare needs.
This girl looks so relieved! She obviously intuites that she's finally safe! Thank you for this, CC! Now take care of yourself; we get colds when our resistance is low!
She must have been well loved in her past. Seeing how she stands so easily as you clean her off on a snowy sunny day makes me think she was a star when she was younger. ❤
I wouldn't be surprised if she was a competitive reining horse who was then sold to be a broodmare. I bet her old owner would be so sad and mad to see what happened to her horse after all these years.
You are a great narrator of your videos! Obviously, you have a lot of knowledge and it comes through your words and actions. It does help us understand more the situations that you and your horse are going through...Yes, this girl is such a sweetheart! Everyone is so relieved and happy that you bought her and are bringing her back to LIFE ‼ It must be so rewarding ‼ And like you say, complicated, re-feeding her....I was so relieved when you put those blankets over her, she really needed that 💟....Please keep us updated 💙💙💙
Usually a horse that is as kind as her and wants to be in your presence has been well loved at some point in their life. Oh the stories they could tell.
As I watch CC with her horses and with this new mare I keep thinking of the novel Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. A biography of a horses life from being bought and sold from one owner to another.... some good, some bad, indifferent and so on.... a heart wrenching story for sure that fortunately ended up well. Hoping this new mares story is going to end up well to.
12:50 Isn't it amazing how many people still don't understand that even an old and sick animal has the right to a life with love, good food and the safety of not being thrown away like a piece of garbage? I think that humanity would improve a ton if more people started thinking and acting like CC!
Most people regard other people as just as disposable as beat down animals.....my mother was tied down 24-7 in her "nursing home" for Alzheimer's, and yes it was illegal. That doesn't really matter very much.
Looks like her chances for reseeding and recovery are good, thanks to the care, love, and super special precautions (complete change of clothing and disinfecting of footwear) you're taking! Bless you CC for taking such beautiful care of her!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💖💖💖💖💓💖💖💖💖
The precautions CC takes are normal for anyone who's seen Stangles or EHV in horses. These should be normal quarantine procedures for anyone getting a horse who already has horses or is around horses other than the new horse. Unfortunately, too many people don't care about proper quarantine and their horses end up sick.
Agreed. These sweet and lovely girl has been produced foals - and likely a lot of money - the for monster that “thanked her” by dumping her off at the kill buyer auction. Disgusting. She was thrown away because she’s no longer pushing out big bucks for him or her.
@@MsSonali1980 Exactly…and the freaking horse racing biz is equally as evil. If they make no money on the track - it’s on a truck to Mexico for them. My friend rescues these off track TB’s and trains them at her facility. She buys from owners at Tampa Bay Downs. She then works with them from anywhere from six to twelve months and sells them typically to those looking for a nice hunt seat or jumping prospect. Many of the OTTBs are calm (which is why they never won races) wind up becoming trail horses. Horses don’t stand much of a chance here when they are “too old” to be useful or too expensive…off to auction they go…disgusting
@@lizzieb6311 In Germany it's different, here are no auctions. But you can sell the horse for the kg price to a horse slaughter (depending on what meds are documented for vaccination in their papers) and if they think the horse is still fit enough to get sold on they have young people (mostly girls/women) who will invest their time in training them while they get fed back to life. The others get slaughtered (probably also after getting fed to gain weight). If you want to get rid of your (ill) horse, you either sell it (for cheap) to someone (privately or to a trader), or you give it away for free to someone who wants the horse, or you bring it to the slaughter. If it is already on the edge of dying and suffering the vet will tell you and put them down. I think in the US, where horses are still used to work, the auctions are more "practical" to buy and sell than our concept here, where you visit the horse seller usually.
Thank you especially for saving her from the horror of the trailer trip to the slaughterhouses in Mexico. I have read stories recently that were heart breaking. Age 26, and just had a foal?? Bred nearly to death then dumped into the slaughter pipeline. You are her mrracle. If she is in foal and you enable a healthy birth, that would be two miracles!!
I would love to see this girl thrive, and drop CC a pretty little foal in the spring, for all her hard work! (But she's so big now, I'd honestly be concerned that she might be due in the middle of winter, if she is in foal!)
@@SilverFlame819 agreed! That would be an amazing story to follow. Really happy when I heard that the veterinarian is already scheduled to come out in a day or so. That will end the suspense. A cute, healthy foal would be awesome.
I rescued a buckskin who turned out to be in foal many years ago. She was in worse condition body score wise than this pretty mare, but was a bit younger. One of my triumphs was taking her to open shows, after her recovery and training, and beating high dollar quarter horses, including an AQHA champion. That mare turned out to be one of the loves of my life. I have high hopes for your pretty lady.
The poor love. That horse has been a good faithful girl all her life... it is so sad. It feels like ziggy. Horses need good homes and they are both so lucky you saw them. She might make a lovely mare companion for Friso bill if you do rehome Prim. Calm and older... needing just good care
I so hope all is going well with your new mare. I look forward to seeing her in your next video. You have such a good heart. She was blessed to get your help. If anyone can do it you can. 🙏🏻

Thank you x100. I had a horse that couldn’t survive and it really broke my heart. I have never got over it but I know her last year with me was one where she was happy and loved. When I got her she attacked everybody and every horse. She nearly killed the vet but knew I could get her to feel trusting again. By the end she was so loving and sweet . Her body couldn’t make it though. Thanks to the cruel people who had her before. So I hope this mare makes it. ❤

And even if it might mean you have to make a tough final decision.
In the end it also means this sweet heart was not just thrown away, she was not left alone to suffer a prolonged, excruciating, painful death in either a kill pen or a slaughter factory…
It will mean, that eventually someone did care, and that she mattered.
This made me cry, so beautifully said! ❤
@@pretzel2272 Same here 😭
@@JaySchuldig yes beautifully said; wise, kind and simply said.
I’ve watched this video multiple times. Can’t get over how sweet she is, despite her neglect. Looking forward for the update, and sending all the healing vibes her way
The boys being so quiet and somber, when you pulled the trailer in with her.... They knew. Well done.
They knew all instantly.
I'm looking forward to the vet visit. It'll be interesting to hear what she has to say.
@@SuzanneHinds-q3k I also saw that glimpse of hope in her eye's. I'm willing her back to health, slowly and steadily with CC.
I love how you show and share all your thoughts and actions
And when you called her and she walked right to her I saw her fearlessness or thankfulness...yes.. with wanting to join you. Love your passion
You love for horses has actually interrupted my life in a most inspiring way. So thankfully you share details. Love and blessings to you
I saw this video the first day you posted it right after you’d gotten her, and i fell in love with her, but have been really worried too; you said your vet was going to come out to check her out to evaluate (one thing: whether she might be expecting or have a disease 😭😬) and i’ve checked your site a few times ea day since, eager to learn her prognosis 🙏🏻🙏🏻, but haven’t learned anything yet… I’m hoping that’s not bad news, but simply that you’re refeeding her and healing her❣️
I have cried over so many of your clips, some bc of broken heart (Skeletor 💔😭) and some bc it warmed my heart for the horse and your love and care for each of them ♥️♥️♥️. I’m hoping 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻that this new little girl (“Sugarplum”?) will gradually be healed and provide joy to you and the other horses (and tiny and huckleberry) because of her gentle sweetness and being a good sport and wanting to be with you ♥️♥️♥️. I’m trying to be patient in learning her diagnosis (i think if it’s not good, that my heart will break again for you, as it’s so close to Skelly💔) but i know you are doing everything possible and if she’s able to have a good outcome, you’re definitely the one to help her get there 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻♥️♥️♥️♥️
Your “channel” is my FAVORITE UA-cam to watch… I realized that is bc it is about LOVE ❣️yours for each of your beautiful horses and their love for you ♥️♥️Thank you, CC ♥️❣️
She must have known love sometime in her life, and she chose you. Thank you for sharing her story. She is special.
My heart melted when you washed the gunk off her and put on her warm, snug blankies! Bless your hearts. Now I'm gonna go cry! ♥
Yeah, I'm teary eyed too. I'm a beat up older "mare" myself...😢

Omg I instantly fell in love with her kind eyes 👀 and sweet disposition 😊😊😊❤❤❤😊😊
She is home now 🙏💙💫 and shows the same feeling of happiness and trust like Ziggy.
Next thing you know, she might foal and Ziggy will rightfully deny paternity ;) @sussiemikkelsen1764
I think Ziggy will love to keep her company
Ditto! I reckon this mare and Ziggy will become best pals! What an adorable couple they'll make!
Agree
@@naiomirachelallison4853 We don't want any foals though.
@@CraftyZanTub Ziggy is a gelding. She does look a little pregnant.
Please give an update on this sweet girl. ❤️

Clever horse she is.

Her looking around when she stepped off the trailer 😊😊😊❤❤❤ She looked very happy ❤❤
I cried watching this. I cried for all the right reasons. You just keep doing you clever cowgirl ❤️

Seeing this just breaks my heart. Thank you for helping her.
On this day of Thanksgiving, I'm truly thankful that you helped this girl. My thoughts and good wishes will be with you both.
This girl looks so relieved! She obviously intuites that she's finally safe! Thank you for this, CC! Now take care of yourself; we get colds when our resistance is low!
She is lovely in every way. So glad she found such a kind, understanding and knowledgeable new owner.❤❤
Thank you so much for giving her the love she deserves ❤
No matter what happens, you have already helped her and she knows it and is happy.
She must have been well loved in her past. Seeing how she stands so easily as you clean her off on a snowy sunny day makes me think she was a star when she was younger. ❤
I can see that little spark still a-blazing.
I wouldn't be surprised if she was a competitive reining horse who was then sold to be a broodmare. I bet her old owner would be so sad and mad to see what happened to her horse after all these years.
That what i thought to or roping @@CricketsBay

Snowy, Ivory, Angel, or Betty she is wonderful..
Thank you CC 🍀💕🌴🤠
How about Sadie as a name?

@mousiebrown943 I'm sorry for your mum 💗💗💗
@@mousiebrown943I’m so sorry your mom was treated like that.
I totally agree! ❤️
Thank you for saving her and for the lovely relaxing music too. It is so relaxing to watch your videos, and the music makes it even more.
It's always the ones that just want to be with us that are so broken. It. Breaks my heart
Agreed. These sweet and lovely girl has been produced foals - and likely a lot of money - the for monster that “thanked her” by dumping her off at the kill buyer auction. Disgusting. She was thrown away because she’s no longer pushing out big bucks for him or her.
@@lizzieb6311 That are people who sell high priced fillies but they don't care about the mares.
Thank you for showing us this little girl. Love her for all of us.

We are thankful for you, CC. You warm our hearts with your love, kindness, and support for your herd.
She's so gentle
The poor love. That horse has been a good faithful girl all her life... it is so sad. It feels like ziggy. Horses need good homes and they are both so lucky you saw them. She might make a lovely mare companion for Friso bill if you do rehome Prim. Calm and older... needing just good care
I so hope all is going well with your new mare. I look forward to seeing her in your next video. You have such a good heart. She was blessed to get your help. If anyone can do it you can. 🙏🏻
You didn't choose her... She chose you!

I love to watch and learn all the details and nuances it takes to care for the horses. It makes it easy to see that even with the best of intentions one can make a lot of mistakes, but live and learn. This horse is so friendly and sweet, so I hope she makes a full recovery.
That flashy palomino didn't really need you but this girl does. Thank you for rescuing her so she wont end up feeling betrayed by humans and giving her a chance no matter what the outcome turns out to be.

Oh, thank you, honey, for taking this poor horse and giving her the care and comfort she deserves! I love you for that!
