    You all are killing it on the support of these videos. Please keep it up if you can. It is helping my channel a ton in terms of bringing more traffic and getting this series recommended to others. As I said in the video if you all keep up the support like this cause you enjoy the Rome 2 stuff...then I will just start another series right after this one to help thank you for your time and effort. Happy to bring you all what you want and really appreciate all you are doing to help me out. It is making a HUGE impact.

      Same here. I am infinitely more invested in seeing historical empires with (somewhat) historical troops, governments and ideologies go head to head, than I am interested in learning what the "Skaven" are or otherwise filling my brain with lore pertaining to some hand-painted table-game LOTR rip-off. I love the unadulterated historical nerdiness of Rome II, and the fact that Heir seems to share in that love. Really enjoying this throwback content, and also the excellent community interaction on the part of Heir. God I hope CA can come up with a good, historically accurate TW game. Needless to say I will be watching any and all Heir campaigns on such a game with considerable gusto.

    What you can do at court is Secure Promotions
    -To other parties, this gives them more power through gravitas but will increase their loyalty and reduce army upkeep of generals (doesnt seem to be applicable to admirals for some reason?)
    -To your party, it's very key in my opinion especially if you like me field armies using your main party as it reduces their rising upkeep, also gives more gravitas which is key to either make court actions or keep control over your empire.
    Other things that increase loyalty is winning battles with 'other party' characters for example, and avoiding the things that they do hate. For instance the 'hate easterners' if you have treaties with eastern empires they will lose loyalty etc.

  • @fodge5395
    @fodge5395 3 роки тому +17

    Heir if you click on other party family members there are certain actions you can make them do like holding games or sending them as diplomats that will increase party loyalty. You have to balance it thought because it will raise their influence but sometimes if you're lucky they might die on a mission. There are also mods that basically disable loyalty so you don't have to bother with the political stuff.

      Currently I am playing Kush, and it has proved to be quite the challenge. I seem perpetually both strapped for cash and attacked from all sides. Sticking in there because I want to see my elite kushite skirmishers and armoured shotel warriors pulverise Roman legions before the gates of Rome itself.

    • @HeirofCarthage
      @HeirofCarthage  3 роки тому +1

      They are a fun faction. Love their light javelin armed swords and their heavy swords have great attacks as well. But their roster is certainly more limited than something like Seleucids.

    Thank you for the kind words - give yourself credit, too! This is a really fun campaign to watch so far - you're hitting a great balance of mechanics-talk vs. battle-action, which makes it engaging, and that honestly makes a huge difference to me as a viewer, at least. I have stalled and lost interest in a few of your older campaigns occasionally, because of exactly this, so without any sort of flattery, I do think you've improved.

    When it comes to political parties, you can promote their members for loyalty, and there are options to send them to boost food output and public order in settlements which will boost up loyalty. I think promoting their members in that menu will boost loyalty, too. The last option is my favorite because it gives generals bonuses.

    P.S.S. There is special edict to increase loyalty of the parties. Also I think warious political actions like secure promotion (used by character from party) may help. And look at party prefetences (red and green laurels).

      @@HeirofCarthage One other thing; regarding autoresolve. The army stack that initiates the attack is the one that takes the strange, gross autoresolve casualties. You can use a few trash units in a second stack as the aggressor with your main force reinforcing it to avoid autoresolve elephant losses to a great degree.

    I think others have offered wonderful advice regarding the politics system, but I'd like to remind you of agents! Champions can help with units exp and dignitaries add economic bonuses when deployed and I believe they can also boost loyalty if deployed in provinces owned by your opposition. Thanks for so much fun, loving it!

    That second battle against the Galatians went a lot smoother than the first one. Your Mercenary Veteran Hoplites are definitely crucial for defeating Galatia. I believe the Galatian infantry you're referring to is the Galatian Legionaries. Good episode. I am looking forward to the next one!

    Fun fact about ancient Egypt since you just conquered it. In the Ancient Egypt days, there was a "Upper" and "Lower" Egypt, 2 separate countries. The interesting part is that the portion they called "Lower Egypt" was in the North while the portion they called "Upper Egypt" was in the south. That's because they based the names off the flow of the river Nile.

    I'm not a subscriber, but I started a new Seleucid campaign and wanted to get some tips for the strategy and that just happened to be the same day you posted your first episode of the Seleucid campaign so I started watching. I've since watched every episode on my time, so I'm a little behind the schedule, but I've really been enjoying it and hope you continue the series long term. I watch about 2-3 of these videos a week so your schedule is perfect for a viewer like me.

    Heir that second battle against the Galatians, was a joy to watch. Good calls on the mercenary Hoplites and Thureos spears. I suggest that you upgrade the barracks in Syria too, to have access in that province to stables, skirmishers, and Thorax swords and pikes. Also try to upgrade your military docks in Antioch to the final level, it will give you a heavy ship with Syrian heavy archers. As for politics click on any charchter in another party, and try the secure promotion action, should give you some loyalty from them. Really enjoing this campaign!

    Also, i almost always wait for the reinforcing armies to join the main force before i attack it. Of course, there are situations where the impetus is on me to divide and conquer, and it's not my place to advise you on strategy, but I always find that letting the enemy approach from behind, when the best method of winning in rome 2 is the double envelopment, almost always results poorly.

    • @HeirofCarthage
      @HeirofCarthage  3 роки тому

      Yea when I have pikes I don't mind all their troops getting together to die simultaneously as the AI can't out flank pikes. In Warhammer where I can use magic or terror to get a quick route I sometimes like the divide and conquer method.

    I've been having fun in Rome 2, but man am I terrible at it. When Heir started this Seleucid campaign I started a Bactria one on medium and got stomped in a siege I started. So I enjoy hearing him talk about the AI's flaws and how to softly exploit them since I can barely cheese corner camping.
