Hope you are all excited for this. The mod should make Rome a real challenge and the premise to me was a fun way to have a sandbox of history to play in. Also here are the time stamps to skip the intro if you want to. 0:00 Intro and Campaign Premise 8:25 Campaign Begins
Did you get the guaranteed major factions mod from the steam workshop? Because I tried using it from there but it says the mod is out of date so I don't think it runs properly?

Man, and just like that, I'm back in 2013 when you had the Hannibal Trailer icon for your channel (the one where he was crossing the alps). Nostalgic af.
Heir, you’re the best man. Been watching your channel for 6 years or so? You’ve helped distract me from a ton of life’s problems haha. Good to see some Rome 2 again :)
I remember the first playthrough I watched from Heir was his Shimazu campaign for Shogun 2, it's what brought me into total war and it brings back good memories from my childhood.
Heir, it's so awesome to see you playing the game that I found your channel on. It was your first ever Carthage campaign on release date. Man it has been one hell of journey. Thanks for being a constant source of entertainment and comfort for majority of the formative years of my life! Wow, appreciate you man!
This brings back memories. I still remember your Carthage campaign from the 'Hannibal at the Gates' DLC way back when. It's good to see Rome 2 back on the channel. This will be a fun watch!
Not sure anyone's mentioned this, but Hannibal actually met Scipio in person while part of Antiochus' court. The two of them had a bit of a back and forth verbal swordfight. Scipio asked Hannibal who he thought the best General in history was, probably intending to break his balls a little. Hannibal replied Alexander, which Scipio agreed, before putting himself second. Scipio was incredulous - probably had his ego wounded a bit, and responded by asking where he would place himself if he actually won at Zama. Hannibal replied he would then have placed himself above even Alexander.
Just finished watching back the Legendary West Rome campaign from 2016 so keen for a new Total War campaign. Loved watching you for year heir all the way from Australia
Heir, I love to see you back in Rome 2! I joined your channel back when Rome 2 was released and remember your Rome 2 campaigns with nostalgia. I also loved your TW Arena videos. So excited to follow this campaign. All the best to you!
I'm happy to see you playing another Rome 2 campaign. I've always found the Seleucids an interesting faction in Rome 2 and I am looking forward to this campaign quite a bit.
This is insane, I booted up Rome 2 today for the first time in 5 years and started a Seleucid campaign. Came to youtube and saw this video just released!
Back when Rome 2 was released, I bought it as a gift on Steam and sent to my friend and told him to hold it for me. If I finished x number of specific projects I wanted to complete, he was to gift it back to me as a reward. Well...8 years later I still haven't finished that stuff...so next best thing is to watch you play it I guess!
This is nostalgic af. I learned to play total war Rome 1 back in the day from your original Carthage campaign. Seeing you back on a Rome game is awesome
Thank you for the history lesson at the beginning. Fascinating! I think I know the ancient world a bit but I didn't know that. So this campaign will be interesting!
Selulcids are fascinating from a a Biblical perspective.Alexander who is shown to come onto the world scene in the book of Daniel .and then Antiochus Epiphanes would take over the the Jewish Temple and dedicate it to Zeus.basically the first type and shadow of the Abomination of Desolation to come later.eventually Pergamon would be known as the "seat of satan" acoording to the book of the Revelation.interestingly there was a giant statue of Zeus there..amazing history !!! looking forward to R2 campaign..
Great to see the campaign up and running, Heir. I like the historical prologue, just hope that Hannibal doesn't take all the spotlight from the fascinating Seleucid Civilization and its generals - after all its founder Seleukos was one of the generals of Alexander the Great. That being said, I am a subscriber to the channel of a Hannibal fan. Keep thematise your campaigns. :)
Thanks! Glad to hear you are excited for this. I am too. Despite Warhammer being a favorite of mine it doesn't mean I don't still love some good Rome 2 action. This is a great game.
As better and quicker commenters have already said, it is a real joy to see Heir return to Rome 2. I wish you good fortune in the wars to come, good sir
Oh man, I was so hyped when voting this campaign. But then, I totally forgot about it (life issue's) and today I found it! Great first episode, love the premise! Eager to catch up with the campaign.
I don't know if you are still watching the comments this far back but I wanted to say I am loving this campaign. I am late to the party having just picked up Rome 2 last month and had never played any of the series before. I have learned a lot watching your campaign playthroughs (loved Baktria) and have learned a lot. Hoping to catch up someday!
Please please please heir give a decent amount of episodes for this 😂😂 I’ve been watching 5 year old Rome 2 clips from you because your commentary + camera work is unmatched on this game.
I love the premise, and I think it is a very interesting "What if?". Also, considering that it might take you a while to get to Rome it may be a superpower.
Heir of Carthage doesn't know how to pronounce [Pah-Trow-klees] Patrocles :D Glad you still play the game even after everything that happened. Hope it continues and I see i'm behind on this series already by 6 episodes :P Good!
I’m sure he probably already knows this but a satrapy is the territory governed by a satrap. Satraps were the governors of the provinces. So you don’t have to say satrapies if you’re talking about a singular satrap.
I appreciate you being willing to do so. However this mod seemed like it may do well and I needed to get running. Would hate to have you doing work just for me 😀
@@HeirofCarthage I usually mod these games quit heavily even though I only use these modifications for personal use like changing stuff I don't like in already established mods, making a mod for U would be a huge step forward for me actually, and consider this a thank you after all the online battles and videos that I watched with great pleasure these passed years
Been years since I had a PC capable of playing any real games, but man Rome 2 was my drug of choice, back then. Love the setting, and the historical tidbits about Hannibal - more little anecdotes would be welcome, if they fit with the campaigns progress.

Hey Heir, just wanted to chime in- Remember how you are supposed to pronounce Heracles? Same with Patrocles; Patro-klees.
Never get tired of you playing Rome 2 man.
Likewise im still playing historical when comes to romes conquest. Attila like shitter version i just stick to rome since they figured out campaign
@@trexpen2418 The one thing Attila did better than Rome 2 was cav. In Rome 2 they just feel like soggy spaghetti...
Thanks! I am super excited to play this one.
Hell Yea Brother!
Heir of Carthage plays Rome 2 is supreme nostalgia.
It is for me too 😀
Yeah for me too, I think later I might rewatch the dei Carthage campaign it was fun.
so true ! and so cool ...

Hannibal and Scipio just nonchalantly arguing in some random ass court is hilarious
Yes it is funny.
Yea I read this. If it really did happen then this is hilarious. I love it.
This is how it all began for me watching you play Rome 2 so many years ago, good times then. Even better times now. Keep up the great content my man
Yea I loved my time in this game. Definitely fun to take a walk down memory lane.
I love the seleucides. Especially in Rome 1. In 2, I turn Mesopotamia into a bread basket to feed my armies that I build on the Mediterranean coast.
Yea they are such fun faction in both games.

Lol West Rome was a great time. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy this one too!
Seleucids are hands down the funniest faction to play as in both Rome TWs
