Brilliant regards the rear drains! (The front ones you may want to be zoomed out, to show the area you are focussing on and then zoom in - but I was able to find them all). One of the only videos I've seen where the "side" drains that sit at the rear edge of the hood are shown - I had no idea those existed after looking at a few videos and guides. I used a trombone cleaner - nice flexible metal cable with a small brush head, that works well to push through each of the drains, including those sideways ones on the rear top edges (a bit fiddly though).
I’m going to get better on my videography this year. Promise.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice post. It helps my positioning in the search engines.
@@Cuttothechase Keep up the great work! Very helpful =D
Mate thanks so much for this. Helped me solve the issue on my 987.
You are welcome. Check out how I waterproofed the roof. That is a game changer.
I think planning the shots you are going to need ahead of time will make your videos far clearer. From your video I'm still not really sure where the drain holes are especially in the front. Show what you're looking at from a distance then close in. We'll then have an idea of where this stuff is in relation to the rest of the car.
You are spot on. I will take that on board Ian. I could have spent more time showing them possibly with a marker stick. I'll get one. Im going to name it after you for that great tip. See it in my next car video!
@@Cuttothechase haha. Nice one. The HP stick does have a nice ring to it!
Thanks so much for doing this video!
Thank your for appreciating it.
Would love it if you did a video like this for your alphard!
That is not a bad idea.
Thanks sir...
Very helpful, thanks.
Thank you
997 are the same..rear ignition module under the passenger seat...mine was swimming in water..🤦♂️
Did it survive?
@Cuttothechase ....Some how it has 🤷♂️....
From what I been told they normally fail but mine so far so good 👍
@@mikefranky mine did too!
👍🏻
Thanks
dont forget the 5th drain hole under the fuel flap
I did! Thank you and I will mention you in my next video on a Porsche repair.
No point saying there’s nothing under drivers seat
Correct. There may be something underneath the drivers seat. Make sure your roof does not leak and your rain channels are not blocked. Water in the car is bad.
Guys talking bollocks,
Amplify and The alarm control modules under drivers seat’ E.C.U is under the passenger seat’ if water got under drivers seat it could cost you thousands
Hopefully you’ll get the point of the video. Water in the car is not a good thing. It may be cheaper to flood the passenger seat side if the rain goes provide that option.
This has to be the worst design of any component of any car ever. Why would there be a drain that diverts into the INTERIOR IF ITS CLOGGED?? WHY NOT JUST OUTSIDE?!?!?!?!?!?? I spent so much money on a “real sports car” just for it to drown itself
Definitely not ideal.
All soft tops are like this
