Love all your videos but these type are what's really missing on UA-cam. From a novice saddle maker and rope maker I appreciate you knowing that there's an audience for this. DALE YEAH!
Thank you SO much for this video! I hope you do more like this that teach alot of us how to do many things we've never been able to before! This is extremely helpful! (Although I don't want you to slow down on your regular videos! You're a cool & good man Dale!) Thank you for the camera man, and the gentleman who did the knot! Thanks to all y'all good ol boys!!
I love stuff like that, ol school tricks of the trade that are dieing out, youngins these days don't care and would rather buy a store gummick than to make there own or have some one like this show em, keep on grindin my friend.
You Texas boys like to tie Hard and Fast, but out here in Montana we Dally ! Keep on having fun and by the way You're my hero Dale and I'm 60 years old ! LOL
The old joke with me (from Oklahoma) and some of the great basin buckaroos was that they dallyed because they were afraid of commitment haha. In all seriousness some of my favorite people ever come from your part of the world.
Well Dale Yeah. I've been doing this for a little while. I think its the best way to tie on. This way is easier to get on the saddle horn and off the saddle horn.
Really cool DB I will tie the knot because I love knots but I'm a big Northern chicken and I like to throw my dallies when crap gets too real. Who knows maybe after I tie the horn not I'll get a colt good enough to tie hard and fast with. If you don't tie hard and fast you ain't no cowboy. Thanks Dusty and Dale for the tutorial Ol'sons
You throw your dallies away when shit gets too real? You have no business on a colt. Get a broke horse that knows more than you. And ride with some folks that are willing to help you. Or get back on your tractor.
This guy is definitely no legend I have a legendary Cowboys in my family. They just make two overhand loops, put one under the other throw it over the saddle horn
Could you tell us what are the differences between dallying and then tying off versus tying on? Techniques, rope length, horse ability, horseman ability? Dusty gave a quick answer in the video. Vaqueros prefer the dally and cowpunchers prefer to tie on?
If you don't know how to tie a turkshead, you ain't know cowboy. Even though I'm a dally man out here in the great basin, I can appreciate cool cowboy sh** which ever side of the fence you're on.
Have you watched any videos on it? It's pretty simple just tie a normal not but then go around the rope and stick it through then pull it tight and there you have it
I guess this is tradition, but I have a question. All you appear to be doing is forming a choker that will close on the saddle horn. So why wouldn't an eye splice to pass the choker be better? I know it would be simpler and I think it would be stronger.
Hi Dale. I worked on a small 400 acre ranch as a kid. We just used a feed trough to bring the cattle in. Does this process not work well on larger ranches.
Mark Jones there are some places that run cattle on nearly a million acres, you would need a pretty big feed trough. Large outfits have cowboy crews that go out and gather the cattle.
The feed truck only works on cattle that have been fed with a truck. And you can't drive a feed truck everywhere. On a lot of places, 400 acres would be one pasture.
I know this is an older video but I love this better than your interns. Education is always better than entertainment!
I agree! This kinda stuff is way more interestin

That’s funny because I live in Texas and I always dally and I always carry 60 ft ropes. My dad prefers to tie hard and fast but I prefer dallying.
No hard tyin in Cali!
You know how I know dale is a cowboy, because he posts his video at 7 am this morning lol. Nobody post their videos that early unless you're a cowboy.
Thanks ol son..
Yes sir, keep on keeping on.
Some strippers go to sleep around that time. They like to do one last thing b4 passing out. 🤔
Are you my brother in law?
Thx for teaching me! Awesome vlog.
Well Dale Yeah. I've been doing this for a little while. I think its the best way to tie on. This way is easier to get on the saddle horn and off the saddle horn.
Spencer Tyree, a chain link or quick link is way easier and comes right off.
Learn something new everyday, I got a lot of old ropes laying round might be hobbles soon!
What a useful and informative demonstration. I’ll be practicing this.

Oh shoot, nothin wrong with dallying. You do you you boo-boo. But if you do decide to tie off, this is one way to do it.

If you are looking for that first knot in a knot book, look under Foot Rope knot.
Stylin bratha that's cool
Those hobbles he holds up, what’s the length between knots? Pretty cool looking setup
Great video get him to do a honda next
Just do a rosebud in the end and tie a Honda.
I'll just buy one from him
We don’t use tonight in Arizona hardly ever kind a looks funny to see one
Do how to tie a Honda knot. I’m beginning to lasso and have fun with it

Hola saludos desde la ciudad de México los vemos
Great video, what kind of ropes do y’all use?
I assume classic equine
Nobody ever started a good story with "I dallied and then..."
Thanks dale that was real helpful you and dusty are real cowboys ol'son
You rarely hear of a dally man having a horse with ruined shoulders, rigging torn out of a saddle, or half the critters roped being crippled.
The hoodie... Where's that hoodie?
He's so cute 😍 but he prolly married with 3 kids 😭
or gay
If you dont use the word "mash" on a daily basis...
I would like to buy this rope
But I can’t find it online anywhere can someone give me a link
It's a cactus weapon
now i can leave you a message after the beep
Was someone too busy adjusting their bra straps to maybe pre-cut Mr. Burson a few pieces of electrical tape?

굿 잘보고 갑니다.
일반 로프보다 좀 억센 로프같네요.
Where do you buy those ropes
What make of rope is that?
Wonder who the first person was to do this... I’d just wrap and clamp but I’m not very creative
U shoud do it more slowly but other than that i like it
Nacho RDR2 sounds sexual
Which rope is that
Where would you get that kind of rope? I can't find none in the Central Florida area. Forgive me if I don't use the correct name.
Garret Smith I'm in central FL too, it's not sold here, look up Kings saddlery online
It’s a cactus weapon
Pretty much every guy I day work with carries a cactus weapon! Great rope
Your joking? Cactus rope dealers all over central Florida, go to their website and click on dealer locator.
Just order a poly calf rope.
What kind of rope Is that
Montgomery Parsons cactus weapon
Lasso 🤣
Show how to do a 3 strand
scroggs horse training if you do a three you do the same thing but when you have to do the under two over one braid you can just do three flat
Same deal. Just do what he says until you run out of strands.
Can I have one please I really need it
That is too difficult for me
I have this
Golf clap.
bad throw...pushing horses into a corner and then catching two and once? that's a disaster about to happen...
Mumble, mumble, mumble!
