Good to see someone being proactive. Measure the situation and make a plan. Awful lot of farmers are in the same situation and they just crossing their fingers for a dry early spring. Make a plan, act early and it’s amazing what you get over.
I was going to say poor Tom Pemberton, but on reflection, he'd be the first to laugh OR point the finger back lmao
Having got this far through your back catalogue, I appreciate what Tom Pemberton meant when he mentioned your name
Excellent camera and editing work
Wart and all farming content
Provable and backed up information
Great video's, keep them coming 👏 👍 👌
Geoff
Absolutely nailed the drone footage, thanks for sharing!!!
Probably the one of the best videos you have done, with an added montage that is emotively nostalgic. 👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks! I really liked it also.
Another great video Andrew very well put together 😊
Thanks 👍
That is some fantastic drone footage , Beautiful with the sun low in the sky , really enjoyed that Thank you , Nice to see it went well for you and the team , the clamp looked so good well rolled , lets see what the result is a bit later
Great Video Andrew, I think you were the happiest in this video this year< thanks for sharing
I was! Big relief to have the fourth cut off the fields!
Very good drone footage 👍
Thanks 👍
Best silage video ever keep it up andrew
Thanks!
Alright Andrew what a relief it will be aftrr the year we have had to get a good 4th cut top video once again keep going 😂❤
Fabulous ❤.
Another great video. Looks like your gamble has paid off with the manure
The good weather makes it much easier.
Redemption in 4th cut!
We used to rally around the silage field and do a 360° handbrake turn at the far end, that my Da couldn't see.
gracias buen video y bueas explicaciones.
You should get more video of cutting especially with the drone
Lucky the weather tightened up to get grass gathered up! Only it did you couldn't have taken them oule green and yellow yoke's off the tarmac!
What fertiliser did you spread 2 weeks before cutting silage?
Great video Andrew, what make is your drone?
It's a DJI, the 249g one. Wasn't expensive
Do you have an opinion on acid as additive in silage? Have you tried it? More costly and tougher on machines but reliable
😊
Great video again, however I think you've too much on to be branching out into hedge trimming lol
Geoff
fantastic video bud
Glad you enjoyed it
Where do you get your ecocyll and applicator from?
ancient roman empire lol you did the meme
It's not a meme, it's a fact. 😅
Great video Andrew! That dronefootage was mint :) You are not considering a fifth cut on some of the fields though?
Left 10ac which I might take in October
Who is the plonker driving the 8s with the door open?
David. 🤣 The air con isn't working, need to get it fixed!
How many acres you farming altogether and how many cows you milking?
You some great land ?
Hopefully this good week gonna break the winter for a lot of people
350, 190 cows
@FarmTheoryNI
Well done you.
I enjoy your videos more so looking at your land equipment as I know zero about dairy. I've 18 sucklers and 50 sheep in the west
You
Is there a reason for why you don’t cover the sides of the silo with plastic before you start putting in the grass?
He''s given his reasons in previous videos and he would have shredded it with the compactor at the end if he had one,🫣
But agree you should always use a side sheet
Benefit is less with the sides well compacted, much easier during winter without side sheets to deal with.
@@FarmTheoryNIor maybe if you do the job right you don’t need to, we do but we don’t leave a pit as nice.
Not many farmers leave the pit as good as this farmer
How much fert u put on a fortnight ago an does it not affect grass
Only 30kg/ha of N. Will be all used up now.
The back mower should be mowing by the ditch
No it shouldn't
Yes it should
Defo should
Yes it definitely should. No break away in front mowers back mowers have them. and you have some chance of seen a stone or branch from a tree from the back mower not a hope from the front.
Never had an issue and it's easier to follow the hedge with the front mower.
Do you get any bother with mice damage on the cover with the straw there
Nope
Nothing worse for energy loss than leaving a pit unsheeted over night/rolling the morning after
I know! Sorry! 😅
🇮🇪🇮🇪🙏🙏💪💪👍👍👌👌
30 min is to long for a UA-cam video 😮
Would agree 10 to 15 minutes is more than enough
If the content is that good 30 minutes is too short!
Think Andrew has just been demoted from JF operator 😮 David didn't miss the trailer once😜just think of all those extra tons of silage you could have had in the pit had they landed in the trailer😂😂😂
WOW what is the silage making expert doing🤯🤯 leaving the pit open over night and rolling it again in the morning🤬🤬 shoolboy error, squeezes out the CO2 produced by the bugs overnight and sucks back in oxygen🫨🤦
Didn't realise your excelent silage video last year was your first, I left a comment on one of Mr Pemberton's videos telling him to watch and learn, good to see him asking your opinion on silage making, pity he doesn't always listen(his 1st cut).
Keep up the good work👏👏
I know I should have sealed it that night but I was tired. 😅 Sometimes you accept less than perfect for the sake of an easier life.
