When the adventure takes you to your Grandmother's table, with memories of your dog in wildflowers. That is a true adventure.
I love that Dallas brings you daisies. It’s like it’s her way of saying thank you and that she loves you. 🌼🌼🌼🌼 Seeing you there put a lump in my throat. 🥹
You are so very lucky to have Lone Wolf Mountain as a quiet relaxing , private retreat.
It was just so touching to hear you talk about your precious Dallas. Where you buried her is so beautiful. She really is there among the wildflowers. Thanks Luke for another wonderful outdoor adventure🩷🙏🏼
What happened with your cabin?
Luke, You're right. Sometimes the best thing you can do for a friend who has lost a dear pet is to just listen. You sir are a good friend. 👍👋
Wild flowers makes me think of “Where the Red Fern Grows.”
Lovely comment you made about Tony, so very sad he lost two dogs, Bruce and Bruno, but now welcome two adorable puppies, Bernie and Bolly and so good to see Tony with a smile on his face 😊
Yes I am so happy for Tony as the loss of Bruno was so devastating. Looking forward to the new pups
I lost two dogs in the past two years - both about 12 years old. I have had many thoughts about all the vaccines I let them have and wonder if I should have questioned more. I have a rescue cat now - getting too old for a dog and she is different - and a companion. But I am very cautious re veterinary recommendations. Working with a dr in India and making sure she has no parasites - she does nail the occasional mouse - and making sure she gets raw meat that I prepare along with vitamins and a little cooked carrot. Get high protein dry food - she does eat less than the dogs even though they were not much bigger. I still cry a little when I sit close to where I buried them and remember playing ball in the yard. Cats don’t play ball.
@@marymagnuson5191I’ve Known a cat or two that play fetch.
Well Bruce led a full life, but Bruno ?? Really hope they say what the cause of death was, he was still just a pup and his death makes no sense. If it was a blood clot/aneurysm would like to know if any of the vaccines administered could have caused it.
Cats can fetch and enjoy doing so. My male and female cats- Siamese-had rather dog-like mannerisms. Aren't they all just wonderful? Blessings
Your tribute to your Dog was very beautiful. I know she was very happy with you and your family, and we know she's still with you. RIP, Sweet, Wild Girl !
Our pets, past and present bring so much happiness to our lives. They are family just like your Dallas (may she always Rest In Peace). It was wonderful hearing you talk about her, she will always be a part of your life! 🙏
12v heating pads are AWESOME. They are easy on the power, and super-efficient. Heating blankets lose so much heat by their very design. As I mentioned in a reply elsewhere, really liked the gear this week, with the exception of the awning, perhaps, as there are other tail gate options that seem preferable. However, that's the great benefit of your channel - I didn't have to buy it to find out :) Thanks for your reviews, and your friendly presence in your videos. It means a lot to those of us whom are actually here to learn, and share. Some of the comments here indicate others may be here for other reasons. Alas, such is the internet. But even online, I wonder why anyone wants to introduce negativity to the outdoor community. These videos - yours, Tony's, others whose political beliefs I may or may not share - who cares? This is the one community where I'm happy to sit back and take in the channel content, without judgment. I'm just happy to be here. Appreciate your channel. Safe travels, Luke and friends.
Thanks so much for your shout-out to Tony of AB Camping. A dog lover of Bruno N Bruce. Also thanks for sharing DeeDee, you're wild dog. I never watched you with a dog. Had to be before 2020. I hope all who camp and loss something they love could carry on camping.🎉
I love the sound of the rain on the tent or the vehicle when it's time to go to sleep
I just made shepard's pie, which is beef stew on top of mashed potatoes yesterday. Mashed potatoes are king, and these days a 5lb bag of Russets cost me almost as much as my meat would.
Am hunkered down with my back yard and the road out to the hardtop flooding. We just had 3 days of rain. It's sort of like camping in your home. The frogs are quite excited for this overdue wet tonight. Their chorus has yet to reach under my house. I am on stilts. At times in flooded yards of the past, they seranaded me from under my place.
It is always sad to lose a good friend like you and Tony did. My cat left me this year too. Their friendship is a lasting still. Thank you, Luke!
Sounds awesome, but that’s Cottage pie. Shepherds pie is lamb.
Potatoes are super easy to grow, if you have a place you can grow crops like a backyard
Roof top tent owner here. Luke is correct on the care needed for these things. Often times I see/hear people with mold/mildew issues. What works for some, doesn’t for others. My MPG is the same with or without it (sit below the roofline on my Jeep Gladiator), but the simplicity of setting up in the desert/woods/rainforest makes it a win for my needs. 5-15 night per year, enjoyed since 2020.
Yes fur peeps are amazing !! We are lucky to have them in our presence!!!
I imagine you may have seen it already, but a car camping awning I really like is the slumberjack roadhouse tarp. It attaches to the vehicle simply and easily by just wrapping around your roof and buckling onto your wheel spokes. Then on the other end you can use one or two poles. Makes a huge covered space and what's really nice is that it covers the opening to the back of your vehicle so you can get access inside even during a rainstorm. And to your point, it packs away small and inside the vehicle, no permanent attachment. I bring mine with me any time I take my jeep offroading and it's come in handy often. Nice heavy duty stakes and guylines
It sounds like Dallas has blessed the earth with the wild flowers bud. Thank you for sharing
Sorry for your loss. Dallas is still with you and it's amazing that the flowers grow there. Beautiful.
Dinner looked delicious.
LWM is Beautiful, thanks for sharing it with us.
I agree heating pads work. I stayed one whole winter in a tent in Saskatchewan with a heated mattress cover as my sole source of heat.
That's some Where the Red Fern Grows stuff right there, Luke.
Our fur babies are such a part of us!! ❤ Blessings to you all who have lost a dear friend who is more family than pet.
When you watch a vid and immediately play it again. A+ thank you!
I bought one of those Teton pillows, after Luke’s review. He is right about it being best used for car camping. Still enjoying the break from chemo. 🤙
Been there done that! 2 1/2 years of it. Hang in there.
Cheers to you fellow warrior. Thank you for positive comment. I’ve been fighting the brain tumor(oligodendroglioma) ever since they woke me from a chemically induced coma, way back in 2010.
@@ReasontoLiveAdventures just remember, you’re still here.
Aye, I agree l. The original prognosis was five years, and a wheelchair for those years. Destroyed that prognosis years ago.
Maybe you can get this to Tony at AB Camping. His videos do not allow comments...
Where To Bury A Dog
There are various places within which a dog may be buried. Beneath a cherry tree, or an apple, or any flowering shrub of the garden, is an excellent place to bury a good dog. Beneath such trees, such shrubs, he slept in the drowsy summer, or gnawed at a flavorous bone, or lifted head to challenge some strange intruder. These are good places, in life or in death. Yet it is a small matter, and it touches sentiment more than anything else.
For if the dog be well remembered, if sometimes he leaps through your dreams actual as in life, eyes kindling, questing, asking, laughing, begging, it matters not at all where that dog sleeps at long and at last. On a hill where the wind is unrebuked and the trees are roaring, or beside a stream he knew in puppyhood, or somewhere in the flatness of a pasture land, where most exhilarating cattle graze. It is all one to the dog, and all one to you, and nothing is gained, and nothing lost -- if memory lives. But there is one best place to bury a dog. One place that is best of all.
If you bury him in this spot, the secret of which you must already have, he will come to you when you call -- come to you over the grim, dim frontiers of death, and down the well-remembered path, and to your side again. And though you call a dozen living dogs to heel they should not growl at him, nor resent his coming, for he is yours and he belongs there.
People may scoff at you, who see no lightest blade of grass bent by his footfalls, who hear no whimper pitched too fine for mere audition, people who may never really have had a dog. Smile at them then, for you shall know something that is hidden from them, and which is well worth the knowing.
The one best place to bury a good dog is in the heart of his master.
by Ben Hur Lampman
What a beautiful dog Dallas was! May her memory be a blessing. And for Tony's dogs as well. Nature and listening - two under-appreciated resources. I really like the gear this week, for car camping. Everything you need, nothing you don't. Since I seem to be the official Temu tracker, I saw a mesh fire pit listed on there, but I haven't had a chance to do a comparison with yours. Nature Hike and a few other vendors have shops on Temu, but I also didn't notice if the mesh pit is from a "known" vendor, or is a new model etc. I'll check, and report back, if anyone is interested. Thanks for the great videos! Always appreciated. Also, dinner does look amazing. Nice mini olive oil! Those individual containers of both rice and potatoes are super-light and easy to carry, especially for car camping. I craved mashed potatoes before I even knew I was pregnant EVERY time (four children!) The mashed potato pregnancy indicator was strong with me lol. 😊
Considering what's going on with global conflicts, our prayers are with your daughter.
Nice story about Dallas . Thats Awesome about the wild Flowers . She is letting you know she is watching over the property 😉
We lost our fur baby Zoey to bladder cancer 12 weeks ago, this made me cry
Great one night "reset". Thanks Luke for taking us along. Stay safe and God bless.
Been watching since 2016. What a channel this is! 💪
Hi Luke, love watching theoutdoorgearreview, I feel we are all family here, I was filling up when you were talking about your beautiful dog, as even to this day my beautiful German Shepherd Nitika passed away on me 3 years ago she was 14 years old and it's still very hard. ❤bless you abd your family from a fan from Ireland 🇮🇪
Your place is so beautiful Luke. Thanks for sharing about your fur babies. I know the pain of losing someone you love. They are our family.
Over the years I have had several pets. One died in my arms. Said I wouldn’t get another one, but I eventually did. My old fur guy that I have now is going on 15 years old. He is such a good boy, and I love him a lots! But that time will eventually come. But until then, I am thankful for every day that I have with him.
Thankyou for sharing a precious moment with Dallas 😪 tears, beautiful flowers where she is buried ❤ thankyou for putting the temperature in Celsius on screen. Great video ❤
“Nothing but Nature” is a great space. I agree with you and I really enjoy your videos! Thank you! 🎉
Luke good memories! Myself I had two dogs. One was my buddy. We both trusted each other. Smart as hell! The second one, still a great dog dumb as a box of rocks. But lovable to death! Miss both everyday!
Evening everyone from accross the pond in the UK 🇬🇧 here new upload by luke means 2 things dinner & a nice big cowboy coffee
Hehehe
Do they really spell across with two Cs in England?
My favorite episode of all time. Thank you Luke.
Luke, you're a good guy and your parents raised you right.
Love your videos and your commitment to constant production is Awesome!
Lovely tribute to your dog Dallas and to Bruno too. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
YESSSS!!!! Starship Troopers...absolutely Epic!
Gen x and millennials, needs to watch this movie. Gen x , love this movie.😂😂😂
Iron sky's, about when the natzis on the moon ,come back to earth and use an ad campaign . Is hilarious 😂😂
Seriously 😂😂 worth the watching.
If it's raining, Luke's camping 🎉
Hi Luke & Susie, Beautiful Spot all those.Flowers represent your LOVE and Dallas LOVE my Condolences to You and your friends lost for His Pets. LOVE And GOD BLESS You all Aloha Always Sister Chrissy 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Food always tastes better when camping
Luke; I would love you to test the TARGET THIEF scenario. I would love to see you deck out TRAILs with attachments with game cameras and hide in the bushes my friend.
That would make for a great video. Strength and honor.
I've got the exact same fire pit. It's brilliant and I've put some pretty decent logs on it. Nothing drops through. But what I have noticed is it goes through wood pretty quickly due to it be so well vented.
Jens Williamson, III (Deaf)
You can please give me just one taco? Lol 😂🎉
I like you, Luke because you are the camping expert.
You or others buy the new tent or do not buy the new tent if problem. Good Job! Thanks for your time. Have a great day!

Still in San Antonio, Texas.....
Bexar County 🇨🇱
You did the right thing.
One of my dogs got really sick and died 3 months ago, and I still can not get over it. I cry every time I think of her. She was only 3, still a baby
So sorry for your loss. Just 3! So sad!
We lost our rescue pup a year ago. We still miss him every day and
speak of him often. They are really more family than pets.
poor guy lost two puppers back to back really quick. rip bruce and bruno.
I didn’t know that what happened to Bruno
@@randyspencer5937 i believe they were out and he had a seizure.
Its so sad man. A friend of mine had the same thing awhile ago, same breed too. I teared up at work when I got the notification from UA-cam.
I think this is the first time I’ve seen you eat anything that wasn’t reconstituted in a bag!
Star Ship Troopers!!!! Did we just become best friends!!!!
Just Thank you for your channel and what you do! Simple as that! Stay safe out there and clear skys!
Ah new upload, I’ll get a beverage and ease back
A 3 point turn in a fucn open field!! 😊
As a fellow husky owner it was a lovely bit about how the wildflowers had grown. You are absolutely correct about huskies escaping and being WILD! Love the videos cheers
I was so sad to hear of Bruno passing and loved Bruce too. It is hard to lose a pet a member of your family ❤❤❤
Few bonds can match that of man and a dog. The fact that we take in another species and treat it like our own child so easily just shows how ingrained dogs are to humanity, theyve been by our side for quite some time
I love the sou d of mother nature after it rains. Soòooo soothing
Bruno was a sweetie! Hoping Bernie and Bolly fill a little of the void
Great adventure. Thanks for taking me along! 👍🇺🇸
I miss the days of roman noodles, summer sausage and(obviously) bbq beans
Try a Napier SUV awning. It goes over the back hatch door, gives some shade and good rain protection while the hatch is open, and has held up, according g to some users, in 60 mph winds. Fits into a bag. Makes sleeping in the back of a minivan (what I had) more open feeling and with great ventilation.
Perfect vehicle for you. You're also a great spokesman for the Toyota 4Runner.
AB Camping has a folding awning you might be interested in.
I just want to say you're the best and I mean that with all my heart and soul I love what you're doing keep up the great work
Refreshing rain sounds. It is very hot and dry here now.
Thanks for the tip on the air mattress! Just what I'm looking for. Will try the heating pad tip, too. I have used an electric blanket to keep warm. I learned to set the blanket on low and put another light blanket on top to keep the heat in. Didn't drain my Jackery.
Our husky escapes ALL. THE. TIME, too.😊
OMG!! I have been so busy the past several weeks and have been catching up on your videos. I saw this one and it moved me so much. I just lost my dog this past Saturday and it has been hard to deal with. That field, the flowers was just beautiful. Thank you for sharing!!
I love Lone Wolf Mountain. So beautiful! Your stories about your dog made me LOL. Smart girl! Glad she is able to rest in peace in the wildflowers. Seems right. And I love Idahoan mashed potatoes, too. So fast & easy...and taste great! For a real treat I add shredded cheese and green onions. Good tip about using a heating pad for warmth. Thanks!
Amazing place you have there ! Beautiful story and resting place for DD ! Thanks alot ...Alan in 🇨🇱
Old school cowboy coffee. That's what I grew up on in the Kentucky mountains
I absolutely love mashed potatoes, especially with a little bit of milk to mix in with the melted butter after the potatoes have been mashed.
I grew up having mostly boiled potatoes, mashed potatoes were reserved for special occasions
4:17 I have always have best results with suction cups, if you clean the surface a bit, and wet the suction cups or/and to the surface with some water before applying.
Man you own a lot of land that’s crazy baller status man….
That food looks divine
Ok newbie here.. I’m hooked on your camping videos! My health doesn’t allow me to enjoy nature much.. I was a pontoon warrior 😅 I do enjoy watching you do your thing!
Your comment on Dallas and the wildflowers really touched me. I lost my husky Sury 4 months ago and think of her every single day. Sorry to hear about you friend dogs.
Hello I remember you were talking about in one of your videos about why we watch your channel. I watch your channel for one I may want to go camping one day lol but it's the outdoor scenery the fire pits the rain as well as the food you cook lol I love the relationship you and Suzie have I love it until next time strength and honor be safe be well in the words of Luke ❤🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
You got the 4 stars, starship troopers, star gate SG1, star wars I-VI and star trek from start all the way to enterprise.
Get yourself an umbrella lol
Seems the logical option to me
“Boy” you looking 👀 good 👍🏾
Awesome video mate.
The canopy probably could be attached to your roof rack with some tie downs.
I'm in my 60s. I'm not climbing a ladder to go to bed and besides, my dogs sleep with me. No hammocks or ladder climbing for me.
Love camping outdoors you have inspired me and my friends to go out doors have a laugh and enjoy nature 👍
Thank you for mentioning Tony (and Bruno) as well as sharing again about Dallas. What a lovely thing nature has done in the wild flowers... especially since Dallas was a wild girl. Her breed is what made her that way. Lovely video Luke! Say hi to Susie from someone who watches your videos from way across the big pond in New Zealand :)
Your dog brought a blessing to that spot
WOW! I just watched your video talking about your dog named Dallas! I am one of your subscribers and my name is Dallas and guess what, I have three huskies that I rescued about a year and a half ago! so great to hear you talk about your husky and how much you loved her. I love my dogs and they are escape artists! LOL 🐕
Lovely comment about Tony reminds me of my best friend Jack been gone 5 yrs💟🐕🐕
Another amazing video❤...so simple, yet comfortable with proper required equipments. ..loved it
Bag in the bag in the bag…brilliant
Luke. I really like your style. Like when you go off topic to talk about life stuff. - I know, I'm weird.
4 runner looks damn good with tint man
Cheers to your puppy, Luke. I know she must have had a great life ☕️😔
Such a difference from California to NC.
Here you never hear thunder or see lightning.
East coast it gets crazy.
Those flowers are probably a way of your dog saying she is there and always be there .
Eating cold tortillas is mental
Did saying that make you feel better? 🙄
Since you're already in Janky Territory, for the Moon Unit attachment to the side of the 4 Runner - suction cup to the side window glass!? Luvs, Grancrappy
Good point,I don’t have expensive gear hanging off my 4Runner either. Makes your vehicle an easy target for break ins.
I can see the rain..😮
Thanks for another great show, I always enjoy watching. I'm especially interested in the car camping, as I'm in my 60s. I really like the firepit, pretty darn cool!! Just have to remember to use those compressed logs, easy-peasy. UA-cam is unsubscribing people again, I've been having to re-subscribe every week. Good video, simple and no nonsense. I like that. See you next week.
Omg you had a husky too, my mum has a pair of beautiful ones and I love em to bits, such unique doggos 🙂
