Nice, subtle job. Some people overdo it, I think, but that looks good! Of course, Stormtroopers typically don’t survive in battle long enough to get dirty! 😁

I did this with my carbonized stormtrooper because it looked to clean and your technique is so helpful thanks!!

I mean, the cleanness is kinda the point of that particular figure, but whatever works for you.

This is great!! I did the same thing to my jumptroopers, I took the shoulder pads off of the first order snow trooper and transplanted them onto the shoulders instead of the orange to have solid white jumptroopers.

weathering for cheap people: get a simple black or gray sign pen (thin drawing pen is also ok) then put lines on the parts you want the weathering, then put your finger or thumb and rub get a small eraser to clean some stuff up keep on doing that till it's perfect for you.

If Hasbro did that, it would be an "exclusive"! Lol! Would have liked to see a before and after or a side by side comparison. Thanks for the upload!

I used to weather my wrestling toys with red paint to make it look like blood. Looked really cool especially around the head area. The blood would go well with horror figures too.

After I’ve weathered a figure if I add a clear coat or a matte finish can I clean the figure without the weathering being removed?

Great video Greg, good technique for photos, you can start lite and finish the shot with them extra dirty, I remember when we would dirty them up just playing outside with them.

Try the vallejo weathering dry pigments I use them for my milarty models and figures there all types of earth sands etc and washes rust wash oil stains grime etc the cheaper way is to get some artist pastels and scrap them for the pigment powder use abit of enamels thinners to bind them to the model figure so don't rub off, I used to use oil paints before splashed out on washes i made my own from cheap oil paint 2 dots in a wee tub with some petrol lighter fluid thins it down to make a perfect wash! The gun metal pigments are great for the weapons and or dry brushing on acrylics use enamels on your figures if your just doing this now and again and don't have an airbrush to add a dull coat there my wee started tips for weathering for you for less than 5 bucks mate and last you a whole enterprise! Haha I know that's star track but hey Darth might invade sometime haha!

I used the black pearlescent acrylic ink to blackwash an action figure but don’t like that it sparkles when I shine light on it, how do I get rid of the sparkle?

    Nice one:)
My motto has come to be; ‘Nothing is safe from me, and Nothing is sacred to me.’
So far there’s not much in my collection i haven’t cut, painted, remoulded sections, and generally füct up (*¡ mean artistically designed with châos;)~ in some way with soldering iron, knives, drills, mini saws, hammers, the wall, the ground! > pretty much anything my influential imagination supposedly comes up with.
If there’s a competition to see who can cus(f#%^!)tomise the biggest and most expensive action figure around, i think i’m well on way for a placing;)

*To my action figures, i am a timely appearance presenting as a god, there to unravel their mysterious soon to be known plot.
And they call back to me ‘Nequam Deus in Nobis!’…….. hahahahaha;)

Great video as always, myself I use Vallejo pigments mixed with pigment binder and wash the whole figure in it then I use a damp sponge to dab the mixture off till I'm happy but I will try your method on some rebels.
