No chance of that. Hasbro will just reissue the same old figures with the new photo real paint added. They've had this tech for years and could've/should've used it on the Str Wars 40th Anniversary carded 6" figs, but no. Same old figures in new packaging, mostly, re-released yet again.
Off topic, but am I the only one who wants 6 inch Indiana Jones figures...

I'd love some Indiana 6" figures but only a few of the main characters. As great as the movies are...a lot of the characters aren't that toyetic for action figures.

Spray the robe with hairspray. It will help hold the fibers together and stop it from fraying to nothing. If you get it a little damp it will also wrinkle naturally when it dries.

I've just gone round and dabbed the edges with clear nail varnish since I have some kicking around for tightening joints. That's worked out pretty well
I can't wait for this set! The luke looks amazing, same for yoda. All the accessories are expected since it is a deluxe figure, but still, they're all great. The Mark Hamill likeness is great,but the inconsistency between this luke and bespin luke is weird. I love your reviews
Yeah, I have a feeling we'll get a new Bespin Luke at some point. Or maybe even a Figuarts, if they would get their rears in gear.
That new Luke head would make for a pretty kick ass David Bowie custom.

I bought this deluxe yesterday at my local comics figure store I hadn’t even seen the extra hands and head for Yoda dope ! Great video

the single knee yoda is an improvement on previous yoda which doesn't have a bendable knee
Great review, Robo! It's settled, double knees are fine. I can live with the single elbows with great range of motion.

Today at Walmart I had the opportunity to sort through 5 Luke & Yoda 2 packs and some of the hair lines are really odd like the one you got, but there were a bunch that were great. The difference is glaring. The one I got a week ago at Target a week ago is perfect though, so you may have luck with a re-packaging exchange if you find a good one in the wild. Thanks for the good review!
You can fix the hair by heating it with hairdryer, then removing it carefully and slowly. then when the head sculpt is hard again put a generous (but not excessive) amount of superglue while reheating the hair again. it will be easier to put the soft hair in the better position against the hard head sculpt. Did it in my misplaced rebel trooper hair.
I got this set at target for $13! Love it! Such a good two pack and best Luke so far.

Hasbro seem to be getting so close to greatness with these. The alternate Hamill face with the eyes closed would've set it over the top and made it completely worth the price for me

Picked mine up at Walmart the Monday for $40. Great set! I definitely think it's probably a $30-$35 figure, but I'm very happy with mine!
I've been eyeing this set for a while, here in the UK I've seen it go from anywhere between £35 and £44 since initial release, but it finally went up on sale this week on Amazon for £28. These days some places are selling single Black Series figures for £22, so I had to order it for that deal.
Still one of my favorite reviews.

Great Review. In My Opinion This Set is a Work of Art. You can take Yoda's Robe off btw. I took mine off last night to clean it up and trim off a lot of the Fraying, and to Switch the way the Robe was closed. Hasbro had it closing from Right to Left, where it Closes Left to Right in the films To get the Robe Off You have to pop His Legs off at the Hip (They Come Off Very Easily) then you can slip the Belt Off and remove the Robe. Unfortunately when I got the Robe Off I realized My Yoda has 2 Left Hands. Another Trick I found while the Robe was Off is that He Can Sit almost Indian Style kinda like He sat in His Jedi Council Chair... which leads Me to believe that We'll be getting a Prequel Yoda sometime Soon. I thought of You when I found He could kick His own little brown butt with those Single Jointed/Swivel Knees. Those Knees also help Him sit down further in the Backpack by posing Him Sitting On His Knees in the Backpack. Another Trick I found regarding Luke is getting Him to Hold the Straps on the Backpack. The Trick is removing His Hands and Placing them on the Straps before putting the Backpack on Him. Once the Backpack is securely mounted on His Back then You pop the Hands into the Arms, and Put Yoda in the Backpack. I actually think I need Another one of these sets, just to have another Yoda to display out of the Backpack with the Eyes Closed. Then I can display Luke doing the Handstand. I was able to get him in that pose pretty easily, but He Toppled Over in a Couple of Minutes. Just like He did in the film when He losses His Concentration. I picked Mine Up at Target, which dropped their initial $44.99 price to $39.99 to match Walmart's price, but I also got an Extra 5% Off for using My Red Card, plus another $0.75 off in Target Circle Rewards bringing it to $37.52 + Tax. Which I'm More than Happy with.

Also Hasbro seems to like to using this character when they are trying out different arm articulation schemes. They tried something different with the 3.75" version a couple of years ago. Maybe it's because he has bare arms?
i am looking forward to the single pack luke as i really love the archive yoda, probably one of my favorite Black series figures.

Big fan of the Dagobah Luke figure. My problem with the Bespin Luke from earlier in the wave is that doing the digital paint job over the pre-existing headsculpt gave Luke a sort of deer-in-headlights look. I know they wanted to scale him appropriately with the Vader figure, but that also led to Bespin Luke having the frame of a high school freshman

I'm really looking forward to getting these two. I really don't mind the price to much, I spent around $80 on my figuarts Yoda, so I am happier getting this as a two pack with all the accessories then having to buy a properly scaled Yoda on its own for full price.

I really like the scale and articulation on this yoda. Is the lightsaber from the archive yoda able to fit into this newer ones hand or is it just way too small to hold it?
I just brought this on Tuesday I like the new yoda however the yoda I have with the eyes open(head) he’s liking too his right lol but still love it. I think when it come too mark it’s the hair that mess it up the Hoth Luke in my opinion is the closeting one that looks like Mark H. No hair lol

My Luke has his hair riding way higher - looks ridiculous- I saw a lot of variation of the Yavin Luke’s too with the height of the foreheads. Can it be re-glued do you think? Love the closed eye Yoda head

Man, those figures look fantastic but I don't know why Hasbro didn't use the torso & ab articulation based on the Jaina Solo figure. That figure has a lot of range.
It's always been 1 step forward & 2 steps back with this line & I know they can do so much better - look at the GI Joes figures for God's sake!
They probably didn't do the same because of the plainness of Luke's torso. With Jaina and Joes they are wearing baggier shirts or uniforms, easier to hide that extra articulation.

I'm blown away at how consistently this guy is into action figures. I go in and out of it. This guy REALLY loves toys. It's wild.
Got very lucky today. Nabbed one for a pretty decent price CAD $30 (Around $24) and I am really surprised at how different it looks. Two of the gripes you mentioned (hairline and the skin tone) seems fixed. So the arms don't feel that cheap and plasticy. I wonder if it's just bad QC or if there was a soft relaunch.

@The Fwoosh if you had to choose between this set and the Chewie/C3PO which would you go for? I feel like Luke/Yoda is the more iconic duo, and the more 'special set' re: accessories and new sculpts.
Atleast the Yoda has knees, older versions didn't have any leg articulation outside of angle joints

It's funny, Everyone Raves Over Figuarts because of their "Superior Articulation", but Hasbro does the same with the Black Series and suddenly it's garbage.
@@teddybearjedi8865 the engineering between the Has knees and figuarts joints are wildly different. If Hasbro did something with that range and clean look, it wouldn't be an issue. But instead it's a barely 90 bend with a giant hinge running down the middle and a flap trying to hide the sins. Get outta here with your false equivalence
@@graefx🤣😂🤣 I'll take the Black Series Any Day over a Figuarts. Their "Giant Hinge" and Flap look better than the Balls that Figuarts leaves Exposed at their Knees and Elbows.

I have to be honest I haven't been impressed by black series figures for a bit, but this set look awesome. I hope it's readily available without having to go to the secondary market.
I feel like more articulation would have made sense for this Luke since he's in Jedi training. And why not just reuse the Bespin legs? Still seems pretty good though.

So this or Beachhead? hmmm. It does look good. Hasbro is definitely going to push deluxe figures from $30 to the $40+ price range. I’m kind of done getting the redo/upgrade for at least a year for Luke, Han, Leia...I want the SDCC heroes of Endor figures. Well three of them. But I’m going to revel in my ESB purchases and celebrate RoTJ in a year or two. Yoda oh yeah done with him after this set.
