A topic I would like to suggest is "beginning of a relationship".. How did you work out things in the beginning when you weren't so familiar with each other and how is that same/different now?
(topic: long term relationships and its struggles) After being together for so long from a young age, how do you stay faithful to each other? Have you ever thought of dating other people and seeing your options?
I hardly ever leave comments, but I really love your relationship videos. I love how authentic and relatable it is, and I'm so thankful you both are open to sharing your experiences! Can you share some of the obstacles you both faced being in a interracial relationship? Did you encounter any objections with your family or friends? How did you overcome those things?
Would love to know more about you guys being an biracial couple! Like if people gave you two looks because you two were dating/ married or things like "He must like Asians/she must like white guys". I feel like currently it's more accepted but I wonder how it was like for you two since you've been together for so long! Especially interested in if you guys have different opinions just because of how you guys are culturally!
That would definitely be interesting! I get those, “Oh, are you two together?” looks all the time because my boyfriend’s Greek and 26... I’m 22 but can pass for 17 without make up on. It honestly gets tiring!
"Everyone you love is going to hurt you at some point." So true! It's worth sticking around because we aren't perfect and we still love each other very much. Thanks for your amazing series!
What a beautiful marriage God has blessed you with. It is so apparent that He is working in your marriage and your family. Thank you for blessing me and sharing your faith with us
OMW!! I was supershocked to see my question was actually picked!! YAY~ :D :D :D but im kinda surprised at how you guys are like everyone else (having arguments and having to solve it) coz to me honestly you guys sounded like a fairytale having been together for 16 years creating a multicultural family, everything looked so perfect. but watching this video makes me realize you guys work just as hard as everyone else to make each other happy and cherish one another. Im also a firm believer in solving it before bed...because i dont want to ruin the next day waking up in horrible mood. Well done for working together as friends, partners, lovers and now as parents. Cant wait to see the next one ♥
Jen, I'm not saying you seem fake on youtube (lol), but it's so nice to see your personality coming out through the way you interact with Ben! When you're with your significant other, you can't help but be yourself and let your guard down. :)
This is such an amazing segment on your youtube channel, because it is so relatable and you both are so real in your answers. It just goes to show that these types of talks and arguments shouldn't be looked down upon. You are learning more about the other person each time and it shows how much you care and are willing to put in that extra effort because you truly love one another. Thank you for putting videos like these to show that you deal with things that everyone else goes through and that IT IS OKAY. *thumbs up*
Thanks for being so transparent about such a hard topic, I feel like As someone still dating, this advice is really helpful and I’ve been sharing it with my bf. happy lunar new year!
you give such rational, easy to understand and implement advice! You can tell these are things that you have actually given thought to (beforehand) and use daily in your relationship and life. wonderful
Wow, when Ben was talking about how he hates being interrupted and needs time to process, and how you sometimes jump in without meaning to... that is exactly me and my husband! Crazy how your answers are basically describing me&hubz! Even our love languages are the same! Lol Learning a lot from you guys! Love these videos!
Its really amazing that you guys are sharing this and being so open about your relationship. Just to share One thing about the unspoken rule me and my husband have when arguing is that we never say 'I want to break up' and this goes all the way back ever since we're dating. This encouraged us to really work things out before hitting that end button with that statement. And to be honest, its basically a fear of mine that when we start to have babies, we will be at the point where there will be more arguments than usual because we are just so close to our limits. Thank you for the advice about this. I'll keep it in mind that it's just a temporary stage 😊 Love you both a lot. I hope to see more about maintaining a balance between husband and wife relationship with work life.
Wow! Love this series 💕 I just got married after quite a long relationship time.. your sharing abt pregnancy and being a parent helps me a lot in getting an insight of what's going to happen as we're deciding to hv baby in near future time... and the idea of being pregnant and being a mom is surprisingly scares me a bit. There's no turning back right from being a mom. You'll hv like a long term commitment in raising them. Looking forward for more these kind of videos 😘💕
This was so helpful guys, thank you for filming it and being so open with us. I really appreciated your points of views and your advice. I especially loved the idea of asking about the other's limit, I think that's very smart and a good way of avoiding a lot of problems and arguments.
I LOVE this series, it's so helpful! You both give such great, sensible and realistic advice. Please keep making more videos like this! (Also, I'd love to hear you discuss how you maintain you individuality in such a long-term relationship - eg. still seeing your own friends, managing alone time [especially being parents!], having your own hobbies... still being your own person while also being together and extremely close with someone. Thanks!)
Love this series you guys do together. It's both inspirational and informational. Gotta say, this is my favorite series on your channel. Keep up the good work!
I love these sessions. I learned a lot in this video and I can definitely use some of these advice when I build my own family in the next few years. Thank you ! 😊
This was incredible. My husband and I will be celebrating our 20th wedding Anniversary/22 together and you youngins are more together than we are. You have thoroughly shamed me.
Ok so apart from the incredible lovely super real video and luuuurve between you two - the format of this video was BOOM. Loved this over the “read out the question and answer it” style. Your videos are visually satisfying and you have such original content. POWER TO THE JENBEN.
could you expand in to anger, fear, shame? it'll be so good to hear some real thoughts on that. ps. LOVEEE THIS! I will be going a blog post as well. thanks jen
The highlight of my sunday morning/afternoon here in Korea! Thank you so much Jen and Ben, i’m loving this series! Plus i hope you film one more my husband and baby does my makeup voiceover :) ♥️♥️
I'd love to hear some of your advice about staying in love, especially in a long term relationship! How do you keep it exciting, how do you feel about taking "breaks"? How would you deal with this? Thanks!
Hi Jen and Ben! Thank you so much for sharing all of your wisdom! I was watching this video and it reminded me of a book that I read called Quiet by Susan Cain. Is Ben an introvert? There was a really great chapter on introverts and extroverts and how they argue and process conversations. I learned a lot about how my personality impacts the way I argue. Not sure if it’s something you guys can relate to but I thought I would share. :) Thank you again for creating such amazing work!
Love your videos, makes me see. What is important to argue about or just let it go. My question would be is important to have the last word or agree to disagree and let it be?
For me i cant do the "don't go to bed angry" thing. I HAVE to take a break and sleep or get space because ill realize that what ever we were arguing about doesn't bother me anymore and either its fixed on its own or i can talk with a level head. Then again i have a temper so i have to HAVE. TO. calm down before or mid argument and distract myself with something else so i can re visit the situation.
Another example of how i think the "not going to bed angry" thing doesn't work for everyone is sometimes you're arguing just because you're tired. My brothers last relationship ended because they got into a HUGE fight that lasted until the sun came up and she wouldn't go to sleep until it was resolved. But the argument was soo stupid. If they would have just relaxed and went to bed and weren't tired all the heated and mean things that they said to each other that they said and regretted wouldn't have been said because some of the things they didn't mean. They were just angry and tired and it was said in the heat of the moment, BUt it was too late it was said.
my boyfriend feels the exact same way, but i've always still been really hung up on not going to bed angry (i'm not actually sure why, i don't have any reasons other than hearing it a lot from "successful" couples). it's bugged me so many times, but i see where you're coming from, and your comment has really helped me to empathize!!
I think the key is not to say one way is right, but agreeing with your partner about expectations and personal limits. If you can both agree to give space, then 100% do what works for you!
This was so great! I’ve been with my boyfriend for 11 months now and we have yet to get into an argument. He says he’s able to just see past trivial matters and not argue but part of me wonders how that’ll be in the future haha I know we are bound to argue some day! Anyways great video and I feel less “scared” (for lack of a better word) about a future augment now.
You two are the sweetest! Great advice! My fiance is more like you Jen and I am more like Ben when it comes to how we approach/navigate through arguments. Good to see how you two work things out and how I can better voice my opinions/feelings rather than shutting down :) Love you and your family! P.S. I can totally relate to the house temperature! I am always cold and he is always hot! So unfair that they are so warm :P Haha!
Late to the watch train! but my question was featured! :D What I would like to know is how you guys handle the other person when they are in a depressed/sad mood, indirectly caused by you, even though you already apologized? I hope that makes sense!
I’d love to hear your perspectives on sacrifice and/or compromises. My fiancé and I are moving from DC to Cali this year so that he can go to grad school. I’m leaving my family, friends, work, etc. behind. It’s bound to be a great new adventure, but I also have some anxiety that he’ll be loving grad school while I’ll be isolated in a new city. Thoughts?! Thanks :)
You never know how things will pan out until you are there, so go in with an attitude of it being a new opportunity for you too! The quicker you plug yourself into a community the easier it will be to make friends so look into a church/hobby group/sport etc so that you can make your own path to a great adventure. I’m excited for your move!!!
You never FIGHT in my mind! Don't ruin the magic for me you guys are perfect lol hahaha
Please discuss how to maintain a healthy sex life, jealousy, and possibly regretting not experiencing other partners in your 20s.
When Ben was sharing that he didn’t like being interrupted, Jen interrupted him and finished his thought, haha.
Almost made me cry - "are you at your limit?" What a loving question, with an attitude of service.

I remember Jen asked for questions on interracial relationships on Twitter, so I think there'll be a whole episode on it. :)
That would definitely be interesting! I get those, “Oh, are you two together?” looks all the time because my boyfriend’s Greek and 26... I’m 22 but can pass for 17 without make up on. It honestly gets tiring!
That dorky high-five though. SO ADORABLE

‘This too shall pass’ I needed this reminder- thank you.
Please show us more of ARIA!!
such amazing advice, love these videos!!
I love these videos, I grew up in a broken home so hearing about healthy relationship topics like these help my 22 year old self out!
Ben: -talks about getting interrupted in a conversation-
Jen: -interrupts-
😂
