    "Too poor to purchase their liberty " profound. For stealing 3 bottles of drinks the price is $2500..poor to purchase the drinks and too poor to buy freedom.. Something is wrong with this.. If he had beg for the drinks he probably wouldn't have gotten it. Sad world. m

    Murderers with money bail out but a petty thief who's homeless is made a worse criminal by repeated jailing.

    In the government you call civilized, the happiness of the people is constantly sacrificed to the splendor of empire. Hence the origin of your codes of criminal and civil laws; hence your dungeons and prisons. We have no prisons; we have no pompous parade of courts; we have no written laws; and yet judges as highly revered among us as they are among you, and their decisions are as much regarded.
    We have among us no exalted villains above the control of our laws. Daring wickedness here is never allowed to triumph over helpless innocence. The estates of widows and orphans are never devoured by enterprising swindlers.
    We have no robbery under the pretext of law.

    Legalize drugs and half of this goes away. I believe Amsterdam has legalized all drugs and they actually had a significant drop in crime. This is all about the business of crime. Messed up system.

    Among lots of things. Bail is a joke in the US.
    Anyone know ounce you pay that bond, do you receive it back once you abide by the conditions??

      You don't get back the 10% that's the bail bondman's fee.

      not one penny. unless you have a home or land to put up as collateral to the county you charged in. bail bondsman get 5-10 percent of you bond and sign you out, this money is gone, for good.

      Much more complicated i have been to jail for a crime i did not commit. Guilty until proven innocent and they gave me a great court pretender for a lawyer. The system is broken and corrupt if the could make money of air they would

      And yes after all the BS i was found not guilty only cuz i didnt want to take a plea and get out early for something i didnt do. The states job is to get the plea so they dont have to spend money on the case. These people are tyrants

    Except for the people arrested for being homeless, I'm not very sympathetic to the criminals who can't get bail. The guy talking about the misfortunes that result from being out of commission for a couple months, should have thought about that before he made the decision to break the law.

    • @lichen420
      @lichen420 3 роки тому +1

      It is because you fundamentally disagree with the fundamental Human Rights notion and US and state law that a person is innocent until proven guilty. Many people in jail are found not guilty or the charges dismissed. That you think only innocent poor people should be kept in jail I am sure is indicative of your character and lack of empathy as a human being.
