I'm here from your most recent video and feeling super inspired! I'd love some tips on storyboarding shots - is this something you script out before hand in your vlogs, or does it come naturally? I find that I end up resorting to same angles when I shoot my vlogs.
Thanks so much! 😊 I’m more of a run-and-gun type, I rarely storyboard my shots, haha My usual process looks like this: I start with a script, then create an outline from it for different scenes. For each scene, I break it down further into the specific contexts involved, and I film based on that outline. but I always remind myself to capture more than what’s in the outline. For example, if the outline suggests 3-5 shots, I’ll film double that amount just to have extra options. If you keep filming from the same angle, i would say after shooting a scene, take a quick pause and check all the footage before moving on. Watching it in sequence can really show you what’s missing or if you forgot any shot types. Another idea is to plan ahead, make a simple outline before you start filming and think about mixing up your shots while drafting, it it can make a big difference, hope this helps:)
To all the small youtubers who have just began, all the very best.. we are in this together. I have started my journey on 27th November 2024! what is your story?
I love how differently you teach and talk about cinematic filming , you do it in such a way that it’s so easy to understand and learn from. I’ll be practicing this techniques. Thank you so much 🎉
