I've replaced several shingles over time, very easy process and actually enjoyable knowing you can save some bucks doing it yourself. Fear factor working on roof usually stops most from trying. I worked in the plumbing trade for over 20 years, so most roofs I can handle, but I also know when the pucker factor tells me to hire it out. One question I have is why we don't see as many shingle replacement video's where the shingles need to be splice together. I've done it, but would be nice for some roofers to show best practices. Reason I ask is because my current shingles are 8 years old and each tab of the 3 tab shingle is 13" wide. New 3 tab shingles are now roughly 11 7/8 I think. So each of my repair shingles will require a splice to cover the area. If you were to have say 10 or 15 shingles blow off or tab rip offs, this is a lot of splicing and possible future problems with each repair. Just my guess, but would be nice to know. Great repair vid though, couldn't be explained any easier.
Great video. I've got a neighbor missing a few shingles off his shed. He was hinting around to see if I could fix it for him. I may give it a go. Question - I'm guessing I'd have to buy a whole bundle just to fix 2-3 missing shingles?
I for some reason like repairing three tab shingles over architectural . Guys don’t know today about keeping straight lines it was so important with those eyes or key ways . Snapping lines up the whole roof .

Yeah you would but for 30-40$. I would charge 200-300$ to patch it in and you’ll be off the roof in ten mins

Common mistake is people forget to renail the upper shingle that nails were pulled from.
