Phyllis Hyman is my favorite singer no wonder Phyllis likes to have fun her voice knocks me out Round 1, 2, 3. Patti LaBelle can sing also I'm not taking anything away from her she is the art of music. I remember Patti saying she was hesitant about doing certain covers like Phyllis Hyman Betcha By Golly Wow. I can't wait for Patti new music to come out.

Phylis was beautiful but the voice wasn’t anything spectacular in any way 💁🏽♂️ the company knew this and she did too. Lovely lady .
Her voice was spectacular. Unfortunately spectacularly in the west meant high, bright poppy. Soprano, and in that era and that culture her voice couldn’t be appreciated for what it was.
