There was a interview recently where Ryan was saying his kids love "The Greatest Showman" and Hugh will come around and sing all the numbers for Ryan's kids (who are oblivious as to how good they've got it!), so yeah, they probably are pretty good mates.
One of the most insanely star rated friendships. You got Ryan Reynolds whos best friend is Hugh Jackman The you have his wife Blake Lively whos best friend is Taylor Swift. So you have Hugh acting out the greatest showman and Taylor singing an naming songs after Ryan and Blakes children. These kids live nearly every childs insane happy fever dream.
I gave the first two Deadpool movies 9/10. My friend & I both gave this one a 6/10. Too much fan service - and I say that as a comic book guy who appreciates nods to books. The story was bogged-down with mediocre characters & a weak storyline. The "villain's" means and motivation were weak & uninteresting. I'm glad I saw it, but I was surprisingly bored and uninterested way too often. 6/10

Wolverine fucking shredding Deadpool verbally was the best scene for me. Someone finally shut Wade up, and that line about not being able to save a relationship with a goddamn stripper was ice cold!
I think what makes Deadpool movies so good is their self awareness. Wolvies verbal beatdown of basically Deadpool's entire character motivation was oddly refreshing.
That was legitimately a good moment. Deadpool had no words. Silly to say, but he really did cut Deadpool deeper with those words than with his claws. Of course there was a fight after, but you could feel Wade having to eat it because it was true.

Deadpool 3 was basically a love letter to the 2000s FOX superhero movies, and I loved it. Man I wish Hugh had worn that iconic wolverine suit from the beginning, but at least we got it now. He had a great run.
@@MarkLaw13 a way better comic-accurate Wolverine. But my goodness, does Jackman get the nuances spot-on. Replacing his acting is damn-near impossible, especially after this film.
@@michaelm5542 I think that's the difference between a comic book fan which Henry is compared to Hugh who just went off not reading the comics. He did before he got the role back in 2000s but Bryan Singer asked him not to. Henry looked the part and moved well. It went to show that Hugh Jackman is not the best wolverine but the longest in the row. Every wolverine that's been on screen has been better than Hugh but he is the only live action. Iron Man is RDJ. Wolverine is not Hugh. Hugh is playing Wolverine
@MarkLaw13 see my point is I don't think there's gonna be a better actor than Hugh at playing Wolverine. I know what you're saying but the quality of acting matters most at the end of the day.
That philosophy worked in the Golden Age of Hollywood, I think the rot started to set in when the auteurs of the 70s were given blank cheques to spend.
Our theater was FILLED. And people were hanging in the lobby just talking afterwards. People clapped and cheered at points in the film. Its been a LONGGGG time since Ive had a cinema experience like that. So it was a blast for me.

For me, it was a line the end that really got me "I'm marvel jesus, or Spock" as deadpool briefly re-enacts the ending of Wrath of Khan. As an old school trekkie, that made me laugh
A callback to the "Friends" episode where Chandler has a disturbing encounter with Joey's childhood tailor? ("Yes, Joey, that's how they measure pants...in *prison*.")
I dunno. I bought tickets for the movie thinking it'd be sold out, but on Friday night less than half of the seats had been purchased. I don't know if it's going to be as profitable as people are expecting. I'm expecting the typical MCU 60-70% drop-off in the second week.
Yeah I enjoyed it, brought back memories of the good old days and a good salute to what came before it. Not groundbreaking but I never expected that from a deadpool movie.
@@IBLIZA23Deadpool 1 and 2 weren't groundbreaking either, but both Movies managed to tell a decent Story. Deadpool and Wolverine is a big step back in Terms of quality but it doesnt surprise me. Ryan had actually no Story for a third Movie and it shows.
Yes, because even if a movie isn't isn't perfect, if you can give the viewers enough fun/proper characterisation/decent world building/etc. (literally anything that rewards a viewer for time he or she invested in watching it) in a movie, they are willing to ignore/forgive a couple of missteps in the movie or series.
I was in a Theater full of kids and i was hearing on every cameo "who's that", "is this a new character", "will we get movie for this one". And boi, it made me feel old... and i'm still 27...
Its a sad reality that this movie is fitting for a "Marvel fan". I was a fan when the movies were much more intelligent and more fully thought out, but thats so many years past already.
Real Marvel fans? Do not make me laugh. But it is a film that not even scam UA-camrs dare to criticize because they know they would make a fool of themselves, just as happened with X Men 97.
Honestly, the fact that they even let Deadpool swear like a sailor and mock current Marvel just shows how much Ryan Reynolds gets the fans frustrations and you know it burned Disney/Marvel’s ass letting him say that Even I know this won’t save the MCU, but at the same time it’s just something everyone; whether your a Marvel fan, a Deadpool fan, an X-Men fan, or just a casual viewer; have been waiting for years to see And if this truly is a love letter to the beginning of the superhero movies of the 2000’s, honestly I’m all for that
That's where people that had gotten up to leave sat back down with smiles. I don't know about others but at my theaters you could almost taste the yearning for better times.
@@ethangilbert4896 It's more like a farewell to 20th Century Fox and also for Fox's X-Men. Can't believe also that Hugh Jackman played Wolverine for the last 20 years. I did the math, first X-Men movie came out at 2000 so that means, he had played Wolverine for 24 years!
My favorite line was one that I could feel Disney's & Kevin Fiege's hatred for: "Welcome to the Marvel Universe! Not gonna lie, you're coming in at a low point!" I genuinely wonder if someone like Feige or some Disney exec(s) tried to force that line out of the movie.
Most bizarre thing about this movie is that it makes you appreciate the pre-MCU superhero era and even kinda redeems it. They mightve not been the best movies but they were still your childhood.

A love letter to the early 2000s that acknowledges the importance of 20th Century Fox’s efforts towards the superhero genre. A movie won’t save the MCU, but it sure as hell was an emotional swan song to our beloved X-Men.
So I wonder why, now that Fox and Disney have merged, don't they get the OG Avengers (Cap, Iron Man, Hulk and Thor) together with the OG X-Men? Maybe everyone is too old, although Jackman hasn't lost a step. So probably its just about money. That many top actors would be way too much money.
It's also a reference to the 'Reluctant Hero' trope, one of the basic heroic archetypes - stepping up to the plate not for the fame or glory, but because despite a hero or heroine's flaws as a human, the only person with the skills or means of defeating a villain/best chance of facing off against said villain. Alternatively, it can also mean that the hero or heroine is the only person there, and any help can only be given by him or her by default.
@@sigmacademyits also a reference to High Jackman getting the role. Kevin Feige wanted Hugh after Jim Crow declined, but Fox didn't. Their pick was someone else but he couldn't do it due to a contract. Then after Hugh's audition thinking he blew it up, well... The rest is history

I get that actual critics have to tear apart a movie from a plot or pace standpoint, but realistically, what the hell else could you ask from the movie? The jokes were fresh, it was very self aware and wasn’t afraid of making fun of itself, and the DP/Wolverine team up had genuine chemistry to keep people engaged. It was everything I could have ever hoped for, and then some. While my mind is blown that Disney actually allowed this film to be made, I personally loved every second of it. As a side note, the post credits scene is one of the greatest things that particular actor (not trying to spoil anything) has ever done.
@@sdogg well, considering Disneys track record of late being what it is, I can understand why he’d be a little overly critical of the movie. Sure, it’s not Shakespeare. But, it’s a Deadpool movie, so what else could you possibly expect from it? I personally thought it was a damn near perfect movie.
yeah, I think it's really hard to create a deadpool movie with a plot that makes sense in any shape or form. I'd also say the "plot" could only ever work for a Deadpool movie ... I do think that previous deadpool movies were a bit more straightforward in plot, but then ... name any franchise that manages to be enjoyable after the first sequel ? This is a trilogy worth keeping. I'm not sure if a 4th deadpool can ever match the previous sucesses, but given the amount of passion that drove this project so far I think that if anyone can ... Deadpool could be the one to do it.
The entire movie feels like Ryan Reynolds own Disney Marvel experience. 1. Deadpool given chance to join Earth-616 but have to sacrifice everything he loves. = Ryan's chance to join MCU but he has to sacrifice everything he love about playing Deadpool and conform to the "Marvel formula" aka "THE MESSAGE" 2. Wolverine is the anchor point, Logan's death ends Deadpool's timeline. = Jackman's retirement as Wolverine ending Reynolds dream to have him in Deadpool 3. 3. Deadpool looking for Wolverine to save his timeline. = Ryan campaigning to have Jackman reprise the role of Wolverine to get Deadpool 3 greenlit. 4. Deadpool & Wolverine stuck in the void, that is controlled by the all powerful Cassandra Nova. = Writer's guild strike, constant meddling from all powerful Disney Marvel. Sidenote Cassandra killed a foul mouthed Chris feels like a jab at Disney Marvel trying to censor Deadpool's own colorful language xD. 5. Deadpool took another shot at Cassandra to return to his timeline = Deadpool reshoots to refine the final cut 6. Surprise cameos help Deadpool and said "I'm about to make a name for myself, tell everyone what happened here" knowing they probably won't make it. = Ryan's own attitude towards the movie, if this is the end for his Deadpool, so be it. 7. TVA at the end told Deadpool "Whatever you did, somehow saved this timeline" = Ryan's surprise Disney allowed the R rating for Deadpool. The ending feels like Ryan Reynolds is happy he done Deadpool & Wolverine the way he wanted. They're still not part of the MCU (different timeline) but he is happy if this is the end.
I think what really got me was the ending montage. It’s such an oddly heartfelt movie given all the crude jokes and violence, but I suppose that’s the true side of Deadpool in a way. Hugh and Ryan killed it, and I had fun watching it. I walked in half expecting disappointment, and as the film got going, I knew I was in for something fun, and that’s all I could ask for.
@@Ironcabbit Yep, both Deadpool and Ryan have something in common. They use sarcasm, biting words, and humor to defend against an inwardly sensitive and somewhat defensive heart and ego. The latter part that cares, and the former that doesn't want to and pretends not to.

Saw it in a packed theatre this afternoon. The entire theater was along for the ride. Hysterically laughing at the funny parts, dead silent during the emotional gems, and loudly applauding at the end. 5:18 man this really is what I took from this movie. It was a swansong for that truly flawed comic book era in the early 2000s that held glimpses of promise and earnestness in them despite thier issues. Now everything is so corporatized and formulaic that these films will be held up as early classics in another 10 years. And when I tell you i was dancing in my chair in the beginning and then teared up by the end I knew this film was something special and from the heart with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. And those credits with the behind the scene footage of those classic early days was truly an emotional gutpunch for me.
Finally someone who gets it! I came into this movie expecting a movie with heart and soul and passion to stand above the void drivel produced by Disney. And Reynold’s delivered. This movie had me swelling with joy and other emotions at the care put into this. Focusing solely on the flaws in the plot takes away from the spirit of this film that should be praised. It was a hopeful send off to the Fox properties.
The end credits was surprisingly earnest and sweet. It did tug at my heartstrings a bit NGL. Meanwhile, the msheu has done nothing but spat and called us fans dogs screw what the mcu became after 2018 (infinity war was the last good MCU movie)
I thought I was the only one who got a bit emotional looking at all those BTS footage of the older superhero movies. Truly felt like a love letter to 20th Century Fox

The fight sequence to Madona's "Like A Prayer" left my jaw hanging open in awe. I hadn't felt like that in a movie in ages. And at the end when the smash through the glass at the back of the bus was a comic book moment we've all been waiting for with Wolverine. Finally, they unleashed the berserker rage from the comics than hadn't been depicted in any of the movies. And Jackman's emotional scenes were Oscar worthy. It's clear why he wanted another shot at the character because there was still moments as an actor that he hadn't done yet. Can't wait to see it again. I have to admit, I choked up a bit seeing Sir Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and everyone else again, even if it's just archive behind the scenes material. Sure, not everything worked, but it was nice seeing Disney acknowledge the films regardless and how they paved the way for the genre. I'm glad Hugh Jackman realized his dream of retiring Wolverine in the MCU. He's the only actor that can boast two swansongs for his character, both very different yet fitting and heartfelt in their own ways.

The plot was straightforward and fine. Even with the world-ending stakes, Deadpool was making fun of it, asking Paradox to "raise the stakes" with his dialog about what the main villain was about to do.
I respect this movie for not sparing the rod of humor from anything and just trying to be fun. I feel Casandra is a bit of a wasted opportunity though, I pray a variant of her gets to have a more serious movie appearance. Also, I'm guessing how Chris Evans was brought in. Ryan calls him, Chris says he is not going to go back to play cap. Ryan says: "whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa, I never said cap".
Just watched this film, and it was bloody amazing. I loved the action, the exchanges, seeing Hugh Jackman as Wolverine again, and the hero moments. Fact of the matter is that people love feeling good and there is no superhero fatigue, just bad movie fatigue.
I had some trouble understanding him, making Deadpool's question "Who is you dialect coach, one of The Minions?" that much funnier. But Gambit wasn't there to talk, but to blow shit (and bad guys) up.
Trust me I imagine Ryan did since reading stuff coming out before it sounded like he wanted to mock the hell out of them. It’s just harder too since he would need their approval it would be much different if this movie came out before Fox was owned by Disney
The best option would probably to have the deadpool full on rampage erasing like 90% of the MCU and to stop him they have to actualy take good actors and so the realy good one heroes to team up and set up everything straight where it belong 15 years in the past where woke shit didnt infested everything

Saw it in a packed theater and pretty much 90% of the audience was along for the ride. At some bits the crowd was going wild. The whole movie was a tribute to the Fox era, but ALSO to the comic books. Seeing AoA Wolverine, Old-Man, DP corps etc. was wild. I get the feeling that the "random" bits that confused people were those few tidbits that were thrown in for us comic nerds.
And that is exactly 100% Deadpool. Multiverse is getting bit overdone and dumb but Deadpool knows this and isn't afraid to say it out loud but since he is stuck with it might as well have glorious and gory fun with it. 😁
This defeinitely wasnt an oscar worthy movie but it definitely was a movie that comic book fans will enjoy and has many references that are really cool to see
I felt no lag in the story. I would’ve sat there for another 3 hours if they had story to tell. And the villain was actually a threat. She was what Dr. Strange 2 couldn’t achieve. *Actually* creepy and threatening.
I actually felt like the villain was kinda meh. Menacing and creepy, sure, but not really memorable imo. Maybe because she was just kinda thrown in the middle of the story unlike Mobius
2 thoughts after watching this cinematic gem: 1) Damn, Emma Corrin really could pass for James McAvoy's sister with that bald cap! 2) Never thought we needed a scene where Wolverine acts like Deadpool and vice versa. Good luck duplicating the final box office numbers this film will earn.❤
I hate that this one seems so tied to the greater MCU. I enjoyed that the first 2 took place on the outskirts. I really don't give a shit about the MCU and seeing how intertwined it is in this one, I'll just sit it out til it comes to the small screen.
I just saw it at the cinema today, the entire audience had a blast and everyone stayed until the end of the credits, it was a throughly enjoyable and fun movie.
Got to admit, I was pretty tempted to watch it on the theater. But I was travelling and the opportunity passed. I am so glad I didn’t pay for that ticket, as much as I love Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, this movie did not live to its fullest potential.
If they tone down Gambit's accent to make him a little more easily understandable, a movie about the guilds and Belladonna would be nice to see on screen even as a one off.
@@Rookie_MattYeah pretty much, even the dialogue and accent aside, Chanum Tatum looked dumb af in that suit. I'd love Dwayne Johnson as Gambit personally
I have a feeling that Ryan Reynolds only agreed to do this movie with Disney watching over his shoulder if they gave him the freedom to make it the way he wanted.
Apparently Ryan agreed to do it, but when he found out the producers wanted to sanitise Deadpool so he could fit in with the rest of the MCU, he ehld the whole project hostage by threatening to leave. No clue if this is true, but I can see him doing that tbh
@@KC-kl6qc I don't believe that's true, Feige confirmed the project was always gonna be R-rated and not toned down. The only thing was there were originally many different ideas for this film. Some include a movie featuring many MCU deleted scenes from a different angle with Deadpool, Thor 2 frame-for-frame remake until the end of the first act, a fake movie that after a few minutes was revealed to be Deadpool and Wolverine, and a low-budget road trip featuring Wolverine and Dopinder. But, I also believe this movie was a small test by Marvel to see how R-rated Marvel films would do in theatres considering Blade and Daredevil are coming out soon.
@@yopunkpunk Don't trust anything that snake Feige says. Fucker tried to convince Jackman to not return for this after Reynolds asked him, but thankfully, Jackman basically gave Feige the middle finger and chose to do it for his friend.
This movie doubles down on several things that the MCU has been heavily criticized for: reliance on humor, narratively replaceable cameos, random references, gratuitous fanservice, swapping deceased characters w/ variants, pointless fights, gay content, etc... Yet even many MCU haters were entertained b/c it's all about the execution, not the approach.

You are the reason Hollywood is dying. The only thing left are remakes and humor catering to 10y old children.
@@dominiqueodom3099 yeah, these scenes during the credits almost made me tear up from the grin I had on my face :)

My friends and I LOVED IT. Perfect movie for a fun time and fan service. Knowing Ryan Reynolds stood up to DEI, canned SHE Hulk, and refused to bow to the "message" people and hurt his career over it, MAKES IT A MUST SEE AND SUPPORTED MOVIE
I think that was the sweetest "go away now" I've ever heard. He loves this movie!
I can't imagine what the first scripts were like. Reynolds must've be over the moon when Hugh called and said he wanted in.
The scene where he flips the fuck out at Deadpool in the car was so good, peak Jackman.

I left halfway into the movie. Hearing the same boring dirty jokes 100 times on repeat is not "humor".
The end credits was a beautiful and unexpected tribute to the Fox era Marvel films.
I haven't been to a movie like this in years. The theater was packed and the entire audience was was laughing and cheering. It was a movie that just felt good.
I feel sorry for those that think this means the MCU is back. The amount of self-gaslighting is amazing

2/3 - Decent

The plot was straightforward and fine. Even with the world-ending stakes, Deadpool was making fun of it, asking Paradox to "raise the stakes" with his dialog about what the main villain was about to do.
