Update: Yours is the most favorable review I have found on this shoe model. Due to other poor reviews and a I hate it from Run Like Heller, I cancelled my order and got the highly rated GoRun 7+ on clearance for $69.88 instead for my daily trainer. Among the unfavorable reviews were that it did not work well in wet conditions soaking up the water and the grip you spoke of. Others did not feel it gave the responsiveness they had come to expect from Hyperburst midsoles. It was also said this shoe is heavy for the type of shoe it is. Heavier than the Max Road 4 which is a cushion shoe.

Love GRR8's. Same colorway as yours. Had 2 of the GRR7's last year and loved them too. Find the 8's are a littler firmer/more responsive than the 7's. I have wide feet and that extra room in the toe box works very well for me.

Skechers have been my preferred brand off and on for years. I keep trying other brands (Hoka, Nike, NB) and end up going back to Skechers as they are the most comfortable shoe I've worn and have been effective at keeping my PF under control.

My go to easy day trainer is still the go run 7. I also own a go run 5 which is a really nice shoe for those faster days, incredibly lightweight and comfortable. Sketchers shoes has trated me extremely well for its forgiving toebox for my wide feet and are also really affordable! They felt a bit cheap but i never had ant issues in terms of durability and took them over 300-400 miles easily unlike my sauconys...

I Have bought three pairs of the Go Run 7 and one Max Road 4. Loved my first pair of 7’s probably got about 450 miles on them, second pair seems tighter, third pair haven’t worn yet. Max Road 4 is a good soft shoe but is extremely warm on my feet. I have to make sure it is cold outside and I wear light socks. But I do enjoy the shoe.
Planning to purchase both the 7+ and the Razor 3+ in 2020, both have different uppers. I never purchased the Razors because I didn’t like the word “SPEED” splashed across the upper. But it is a shoe that has gotten great reviews.

I just picked up the go run ride 7 NYC marathon edition last month (mine have the NYC skyline logo on the lateral side and the skechers "s" on the medial side, you could also just put the other shoe on the wall) and have about 60 miles in them. They are fantastic! I have run in a bunch of different brands, but most of my recent miles have been in the rincon and clifton 6. The grr7 really surprised me. If they keep doing what they're doing, I will be having a skecher's shoe in the rotation for quite some time. Love them.

QD: I have GRR8, but only 3 runs so far. I prefer the Beacon v1’s. For some reason my left foot starts going numb after 4-5 miles and trying to figure it out (only in GRR8). I’m a midfoot striker and GRR8 feels just a touch slappy to me as well at slower paces (10min/mi), but is better when I get closer to 9 min/mi pace (of course that’s my form more than the shoe).

Now, I am considering getting the Max Road 4 for my marathon in May.

QD : Skechers have problems getting their products to Europe. Therefore I haven't been the get the newer versions with the Hyper Burst but I have the GOrun Ride 7. It was my long run shoe in fall 2018. I put something like 400 kilometers on it just in long runs. In spring 2019 I started to wear it more for easy runs because I felt that it had lost some of its amazing cushioning. Another reason was that I got the Hoka Clifton 6 that became the new long run shoe. Now that Skechers Ride 7 pair has already 998K on it. I did my final review after 500 miles like I normally do but continued to wear the shoe even after that for short recovery runs. I think that it has cushioning left and still looks almost brand new. Upper and forl of the shoe are perfect. The only place where you can see the miles is the rubber in forefoot. It's basically at the same level with the exposed midsole there now. Skechers knows that issue and therefore they have announced that they are going to use the Good Year rubber for most of their outsoles to increase the durability. So I think that the GRR8 could be a shoe for 1000 miles.

QOD - I have two pair of the Razor 3 Hyper and as soon as the speed elite drops I’ll be importing a pair to Germany along with the their new Trail shoe. Years ago I ran in the OG Go Run Ultra. Skechers is really innovative and in my opinion Hyperburst is the BEST midsole material in the game

Just recently got back into jogging. I don't call what I do running. My pace is 10 to 12 minutes per mile. Just ordered the GoRun Ride 8 and of course with the passage of time, the price has dropped considerably. $69.99 through Amazon and since I have Prime, no shipping cost. This shoe will be my secondary, I just took my brand new Forza 4's for s spin today. I buy Skechers brand exclusively from street to dress to my running shoes. I am already forewarned by multiple reviews that this shoe tends to be a bit roomy. I have an AA narrow width foot so maybe I will have issues there! Nevertheless, I wanted a secondary running shoe at a good price point so I am taking my chances. I will check in when I get my shoes due next Thursday 4-22-21 to give my initial report.

Have the GRR8 and love the hyperburst. Currently at 250 miles and everything is going strong with only slight wear on the outsole. The upper is holding up well. I chose this shoe because it has a wider base than the Nike Turbo Pegasus and the midsole has different but similar bounce in a relatively light shoe

Thanks for this review. I'm on my 4th pair of the GOrun Ride 7 (pre-hyper burst) but have not yet tried version 8. The 7 was my favorite training shoe of 2019. For me the midsole started flattening out a little over 300 miles, at which point I would remove the insole and use them as casual walking shoes. But version 7 was slightly cheaper than version 8 (and I bought mine on sale), so that's a good deal for a solid trainer. Once my 4th pair wears out, I'm not sure whether I'll try version 8 or be influenced by you to try the NB Beacon 2 instead.

Skechers HQ is in Manhattan Beach, CA and anyone who has lived there knows the Goodyear blimp flying overhead is an ever-present part of summer and big weekend events. I’m sure the blimp was within eyesight when the Skechers team was wondering about it’s own adidas-like collaboration.

I've run in the SSR Resistance Runner, OG Razor, OG Ultra Max trail, and Strada. Out of these 3 the Razor was the best or should I say the most evolved.
The SSR was actually the first training shoe Meb trained in when he made the controversial move to Skechers. Like most Skechers back in that era SSR was just a copy and in this case a copy of the MBT. Could go on but bottom line they were bringing out underdeveloped shoes for too long (which is probably why Meb had a pair of custom Speed's made for NYC) which is why I went back to Brooks, Nike.

I enjoyed my first Skechers, the GoRun Max Road 4 Hyper, but found the rubber wore down really quickly. With that said, the ride was so comfortable because of the Hyperburst foam that I'd buy another pair(primarily because of the Hyperburst foam). I'd be interested to see if the Goodyear rubber lasts longer. Looking forward to the 50 mile review, Seth!

I bought these, ran 4 miles in them and they felt nice, maybe a touch firmer than I’d like. Then I decided to wear them for a 10 mile run. I think that was a mistake going from 10mm to the GRR8’s 6mm drop. Ended up picking up an injury so I’m a bit hesitant to wear the Skechers again. I’ll maybe give them another go next week on a 4-5 mile run.

QOTD. Loved the Razor 3. Interested in the Speed Elite. Interested in a couple of the other shoes on deck for 2020. Looks like they are listening and revising the uppers on the Ride 8, Run etc... but they are up against the Clifton 6/7 in my mind for a longer run/ easy day shoe.

I have the Skechers GoRun Max Road 3. It's extremely cushioned. I wore it for a 15 mile run, and it fought me the whole way when I tried to run faster than 8:30 per mile. Much too soft. My calves hurt after 5 miles from trying to push off in that mushy cushion. It may work well for, say, 9 or 10 minute per mile recovery runs, especially for heavier runners. Maybe it'll firm up better after 100 miles or so.

GRR7's lasted me about 350 miles on roads - I found that to be a little sad. Different foam though, but it died under the inside of the front of my foot. Still rocking some Go-Run Ultra Trail 5s or whatever they are called. Surprisingly great trail shoe, up over 350 on those and for the $65 I paid, they've been a huge success. I'd buy more Skechers but I wouldnt expect 500 out of them.

Not really a Skechers fan since I consider this brand more like a casual sneaker brand than a sports brand. Also, their website is awful for shopping for running shoes. BUT I did try MaxRoad 4, it is a great shoe for a long easy run :)

I've run in the Skechers Performance line of shoes since they started! Been several years now and I can still remember the GoRun Ride 1 (and GoRun1). The GRR8 is my current daily trainer (and ran a trail marathon in them last November). Great shoes at good prices. Hyperburst in Ride 8 is a nice light midsole cushioning--not as soft as GRR7, but more firm and responsive. Wish they kept their pricing lower like before--seems with the new line of shoes (and Hyperbusrt) they have increased prices about $10-15. I have not liked Skechers trail line-up as much as their road shoes.

Being a runner with wide feet, I love a roomy toebox.
I cant use most Salomons or Hokas without having to cut 1/3 of my foot of, regarding forefoot width.
At the same time I have a narrow heel (!), a very high instep, but a normal arch...
50 years of search for "the perfect shoe".
    No luck so far.

Also try Topo. I've had good luck with them. The midsole's can be challenging (I don't think they've got them just right yet...but they are a newer brand) but the toe box for me has been great. Same as you - high instep, wider width, my arch is medium to high. These GRR8 are coming in a wide but have been delayed by six weeks or so and is now slated for 3/4/2020

The slipping may be due to the sizing, my usual size is 10.5 but i went half a size down for the grr8 to get a better fit granted i have a narrow feet. The hyperburst in the grr8 felt a tad firmer compare to the previous grr7. So far i have put 100km to the shoe and the outsole looks like new...easily can go 500km in my opinion. Great bonding with the family Seth 👍👍

I love love LOVE my Skechers Go Run Hyper 3--on my 2nd pair now, and would run anything from a 10K to a marathon in this shoe. SJD noted in his review of those shoes that they scrunch in the toe box. While that is true, it doesn't cause blisters or rubbing or otherwise bother me--feels more like a second skin (memory crease in toebox) than anything else. Unfortunately, the GRR8 didn't work for me. THe midsole felt great, but the toe box was WAY too roomy. I felt like I was wearing boats--nothing like the sleek, racer-style fit of the Hyper 3. I'm really excited about the Go Run 7+ that's supposed to come out this spring--looks like a more beefed up, daily trainer version of the Hyper 3.
