Thank you for wonderful video! It is really interesting and motivating! Cannot wait when all of us start travel again! Thank you for helping to promote tourism! It helps our economy . wow. so cool
I used to live there decades ago. It was nice and the schools were great back then. I know it's changed a lot since then though. I miss my childhood friends and wish I knew their last names and how to find them again, but I was too young and have no one left to ask..
01:42 - That tan three story building used to be a school. ... I used to go there when I was a kid. Probably 1976/77. ... Nice look around. Thanks for posting.
Before louigis it was a bakery shop called roman pastry I know a little bit about alot of the old stores that was in Rome to back in the day down town Rome looked totaly different they had a trolly that operated through down town it went from Rome to Utica and then back to Rome the tracks are still down town all's they did was pave over the tracks there was so much in Rome back in the day I wish it was still like that
I grew up in Rome. Lived in Los Angeles now for 33 years. Rome is still quite but very historical. The Fort is still standing and is where Pres. George Washington was stationed for a while. If you're looking for haunted and historical places, then that's the place to go.
I was stationed at Griffiss 1978-1982. Rome was a bustling military city. It was a great little city. The closing of the air base was a death sentence for Rome. In order to thrive it would need another military post there or a university to set up shop there to breathe life back in to it!
I might be moving there with my husband and children because my husband may have found a good job there. I grew up in Rome, Italy, I now live in Washington State and when my husband said Rome, NY, I couldn’t help but laugh for a solid minute 😂 it looks beautiful
You will absolutely love the finger lake region near by it may remind you of Italy 🇮🇹 good luck on your possible move to the east coast and all the best!
Should have continued on to West Dominick that was reopened 25 years ago. It's starting to revive from its Urban Renewal effects with shops and restaurants beginning to open up. That's where there's something interesting to see.
It's sad. In the 80's and 90's the Utica/Rome area was a wonderful place to live. When Griffiss left they took a lot of business with them, took a lot of jobs with them and left the area in total disarray.
Ithaca is a college town with a ton of outdoor attractions and restaurants it’s not easy to beat plus it’s on the shores of a beautiful lake. Rome is improving over the last couple of years but has a way to go.

@@erickandtheourbacks1072 very kind of you Erick. I appreciate that! 😊👍
I like your walk through video
Anyone remember fric and frack? Wings, burgers, fries all the good stuff. Many yrs. Ago it was $7 for a pound of wings.
Wow. Big Daddy Subs is still open. I haven't been there in over 25 years. I like them, Roma's, and the polish sausage house.

I like how they fixed up the canal trail

Or Slice in Utica, NY. Famous for the Purple Cow Wings!
You picked a wrong street to go down after the pizza. Lol
You should use a gimbal when shooting video .
It’s built into the GoPro
You must have been in the tourist area.
Aye I live here!
Is Rome N.Y. overcast most of the time?
Mostly sunny and 75 unless it’s winter 🥶 then you better stay indoors
@@erickandtheourbacks1072 seems like nice place to live. Is it better than Ithaca?
Cheaper but probably not better
