    Just amazing what so many people can do. I can’t imagine having students and seeing them grow like this! Shows what an awesome teacher you are!! Just a note. The one trinket dish that the glass melted on, it looked like it may have been right next to an element? Was it the furthest one towards the edge of the kiln shelf I wonder?

    Hi. I love the pieces in this kiln opening. The first piece, even before you mentioned it, the colours reminded me of a dolphin. Also, you mentioned your other kiln needing new elements, so you only bisque fire in it. My kiln needs new elements. I wasn't going to use it. Can I bisque fire? It will be at least 6 months before I can get new elements. Your students work is fabulous. tTHHEY

      Yes, you can if it will reach bisque fire temperature. Basically, I'm wraring them out until i can get elements too.

    Well timed video, my first vendor event ever was yesterday! It was terrifying to me at my age but well attended and I sold a boat load!

    17:40 I'm guessing because I'm far from an expert. But the one that melted looked like it was closer to the element and the others were in the center of the shelf. So my guess is the center didn't get hot enough to melt the glass. Enjoying his kiln opening the tree plate is gorgeous in black and white. Also I love the dragon head incense burner.

    Hi, how did you get the Celtic edge on the plate with the tree? It looks beautiful!

    • @hobblecreekpottery
      @hobblecreekpottery  Рік тому +1

      I have a MKM roller with a Celtic braid that I press into for the border. I have a video on how I make the plates.

    • @123siegurt
      @123siegurt Рік тому

      Thank you very much!
      But how do you get it, that the edge remains so straight. Do you put a ring under it and then drive the roller over the edge? Or is the plate not turned at all? I am looking for a possibility with a turned plate.
      Where can I find the video you mentioned?
      Best regards

    Why is glass not food safe?

    • @hobblecreekpottery
      @hobblecreekpottery  2 місяці тому +1

      Because it fractures when it cold and bacteria can get inside the cracks.

      You might get bacteria growing in the cracked glass, but I'd try it. You could wash them in the dishwasher if that happened. I think it would be really pretty adding glass to a soap dish.
