When I was a little girl growing up in Kent I used to collect stamps. Once my dad took me to a stamp shop near the quay side in Whitstable. Peter Cushing was there buying at the same time and he and my dad had a long conversation.
My late sister and her family used to live just up the hill from Whitstable Town... (across the Thanet Way) I haven't been there for decades...so it's nice to see it again. Thank-you.
I visited peters Home a couple of years ago it was up for sale he had a garden behind it, and another separate garden opposite that one he definitely loved his flowers, and I think he had a rose named after his wife .Peter was a legend and sadly missed .
My wife is from Whitstable and used to deliver papers to Peter Cushing she said he was a true gentleman. I last saw his house only a month ago on a visit to the area.
Sadly Whitstable is not the nice place it used to be even 10 years ago (let alone 20). Fish markets gone/gentrified. Sadly no character any more. The SOS app also regularly puts a Red Cross against swimming there, so god knows what the oysters are eating.
In the 70's you'd often see Peter riding his bike around the town. He used to visit his late wifes grave to place flowers every day.

Suddenly feel like I need to visit Whitstable! He was one-of-a-kind wasn't he! What an amazing museum and town, fantastic tribute video, perfect

Good video by the way.
Thank the Lord there isn’t a Craig David Wetherspoons in Southampton! Benny Hill on the other hand!
Charlie Chaplin owned an extensive Benny Hill video collection
