The 1/3 doll's face was a pleasant surprise - you said she was lovely but I still wasn't prepared 😍

Me either, I was fully expecting to go 'meh' at an Aliexpress BJD lol. She was very flirty eye'd and cute.

Thank you very much for your review. I got one of the 1/3 Bomelon dolls for Mother’s Day and Really Love Her. I’ve changed her wig , washed and conditioned her wigs , posed her. She stands alone - even in heels. I absolutely agree - her eyes are mesmerizing. Mine is called New Amy. My first BJ D is such a joy.

That is awesome! Happy Mother's Day. Their eyes are truly their best feature. I'd love to see Amy!

@@KiwiKollector Happy Mother’s Day. I’ve just finished her portrait. My dolls are my models. I’d show you Amy , renamed Grace , but I have no clue how to add a photo in comments. Lol. Really enjoy your videos.

** Please note that I do consider she will change colour in the face area given the rubber head (already evident on her). Now most expensive BJDs change colour given exposure to light over time, but as long as that exposure is managed correctly, you can 'yellow' the body so it is consistant (see official Doll Family "Wednesday" next to me). As this Bomelon doll head is a different material to the body, I expect the colour variation to be more significant and harder to get consistant.

We bought a cheap 1/3 for our daughter to see if she would be interested in one. We did the same with 18 inch dolls.

Hello Lisa, nice to see your review. Bought a 1/4 bjd doll from Aliexpress today. She is also not a recast but an own brand. Curious how she would be. She is more anime. Both your new dolls look mouse- tastic cute🐭 Maybe you can replace one ear from the mousehat to make it straight?

Oh what brand was she? I love promoting budget friendly official. I was very impressed with the eyes on this cheaper range BJD. Unlike many of the cheaper Aliexpress 1/3s I've seen before, who have eyes that stare, this brand's doll eyes are warm and flirty. I look forward to what you think of your doll :). I am not much of a rodent fan lol, but I do like the cute mouse theme on these two.

This was an excellent video, very in depth and informative.
Now, as to the whether these dolls are "real" BJDs or not...well, elastic is not, or should not be, a requirement to qualify whether to not the joints of a doll are ball joints. I have both ABS dolls held together with pegs and PU dolls strung with elastic and most of the joints are not only similar, but IDENTICAL in structure and articulation. In particular, the neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle joints are completely functionally identical. It's not the joints that differ, it's the attachment system and the material used. You can skewer your shish kabob on a metal skewer or bamboo, but either way it's still a shish kabob.
Oh, and before you start calling me a know-nothing newbie? If you were born after the year 2000, I have been in the BJD hobby LONGER THAN YOU HAVE EXISTED. As an adult. 😎

Thank you so much for the wonderful honest review my dear! Also Happy New year! I loved the review & enjoyed the unboxing. Very grateful for helping to share with you & everyone about beautiful budget friendly underrated dolls. ^_^
If you haven’t come up with a name for the larger doll yet I think Minnie would be a cute name for her, same like Minnie Mouse. ^.^
Again thank you so much from the bottom of my heart & always a pleasure to be a subscriber to a very welcoming channel to all doll lovers. ^\\\^

Thank you for the suggestion. I love the larger doll, I think she has surprised a few people with just how lovely her face is, for her low cost. =) Minnie is a great name! In fact is suits a lot. I used to get called Minnie Mouse by my best friend when I was younger because I had such a high pitch voice lol.

This review is really helpful! Thank you so much! And I need some advice tho. I want to buy my first doll for myself. I don't actually want a recast doll, but expensive legit bjd is too much for me since I'm a mom and I want to play the doll with my child. If I buy the legit expensive one I'm afraid it would break or make the doll damage because you know when wehave child something could happen. Do you think the legit bjd doll like yours (hinged doll) need a lot of care? Like what do you think about that doll if we play it with children? Is it safe if the doll sometimes fall or something. I want a beautiful doll that not cost too much that i can play with my child. Please help me decide. Thank you.

Hi there, and happy to help. Hinged dolls come in varying prices too. One of my favourite hinged bjds is Smart Doll which are very expensive so I would not recommend them for children. Bomelon dolls like this one are quite well built. Like any doll, rough play will see them break, but she can definately take a bit more of a beating than some of my more expensive dolls. My biggest suggestion with new doll owners is to keep them out of the sun. They can yellow quite easily.

She is cute, but the taller one's face is just gorgeous. I would consider purchasing another.
