That shiplap accent wall in Mary Carl's room is absolutely stunning! Love that stain and all the colors it brings out of the wood grain! That will be excellent for the steps going upstairs! I think we all are so very excited to see the Barn dominium getting real close for ya'll to move in, what a journey from a year ago till now, just look how much you have accomplished! I believe God really had a hand in working everything out all along the way from you and all of us who have been praying over things with you during your journey on the 40! Just how awesome is God! All things work together for good, to them who love the Lord!
I really like the way Mary Carl's room turned out. The shiplap looks like weathered barnwood. Very rustic! Really turned out a happy accident! 💖
Ursula's summer retreat seems to have her a happier bird. She has plenty of food, water, fresh air. She had to have gotten pretty hangry trying to sit on eggs all the time. It's been good for her. 💖💖💖

Fit Farmer just made a video on FlyFixed fly traps and it really worked well for them.
Put you a bead of silicone around that little opening on the big feed barrel, that may solve the leaking problem.
Your paint colors are wonderful and I love your doors!
Love the shiplap stain color mistake in Mary Carl’s bedroom. The house is looking great and coming along. You will be moved in before you know it! The sky.. WOW!!
The knobs on the feed barrels may be a flip top lid type thing that they were filled through and maybe a pump with tubing fit on there to take out whatever liquid was in it. Could put a silicone calking around the gap to seal it and stop the rain from leaking inside.
Hen Turkey looks to be gaining some weight, hopefully she breaks her brood and it stays broke when she is let loose again.

I’m so touched with how you are letting Mary Carl do what she wants with her room! I was not allowed to do anything to my living space until I moved out and it wasn’t fun not being able to express myself through my room! So happy you guys are letting her express herself!
Same with me...my mom painted my room pink and for years I had pink everything in my room...I HATE HATE HATE PINK!
My house now is all bold true colors or WHITE- pure stark WHITE......NO pastels of any type...all my mom's fault for doing everything in my room pink when I was little and keeping it that way for so many years...SO glad MC gets to do what she wants...she's got great taste in design!

When I was a teen I painted huge flowers on my wall. My mom got bedding and drapes to match my art.

I'm sure the two of you have probably pondered repeatedly how much of a monumental task the construction of the barndomineum has been, even to just this point. Three things I've taken away from this: 1) what a blessing humility is. You thought it through and you very wisely opted to let the professionals handle all this and 2) by sharing with us the various stages of construction you've educated a whole slew of people as to what's involved and hopefully prevented some from making a very costly mistake. and 3.) We never know what the future holds. Could you imagine right now having gone through all the unfortunate illness while carrying the additional burden of building with the hopes of moving in before winter?
God is so good .
I was thinking the same thing during the tour. Glad things turned out for the best.

The color of the stain in Mary Carl's room is absolutely spectacular. It coincidences with the color scheme of the home much better than the natural wood color. It gives the room a very classy and elegant feel. What an awesome mishap.

I absolutely love MaryCarls bedroom, can't wait to see when everything is finished. The Movie room looks really good with that color on the walls. I didn't know that about Peaches, that's why she's in the cooling shed when it's hot. I know normally pigs like the mud to keep them cool because they don't sweat, so maybe she doesn't realize she's of the pig species. Wow, that's interesting.

I love the color of the wood and paint on Mary Carls’ walls. I know she was disappointed but the end result is what matters. It is a very mature looking room for a sweet young lady.
The house is coming together so beautifully! Y'all know how to do 'farmhouse' style down to earth and luxurious! So pretty! 😃👍 That was so considerate of the painters to offer replacing the shiplap wood in MaryCarl's room, but the outcome turned out very nice!! I thought about suggesting sealing the lid vents but I recalled corn can go through a heat cycle. The smaller barrel might have a different venting system. Hopefully there's a system they can devise that would eliminate moisture infiltration.
What type of barrels do HHF vs Lester vs Grandpa Adler/ Chad use ? I seem to recall seeing those orange/rust colored barrels laying around. I know Grandpa has grey barrels for his feed.
I am sitting here having a late breakfast and so enjoying your updates on the Cog 40 animals and your new home! I love your attitude (go with it!) and giving MaryCarl what she prefers on that shiplap wall happy accident! I love your painted shiplap also and in the loft that cool charcoal color, plus the bluish charcoal on the doors. It is simple, yet relaxing looking and modern version of a farmhouse! Looking better and better as it nears completion! And, I am so glad you are feeling better! Don't overdo, now!
MC’s bedroom looks amazing! The boards look like old weathered ship boards, and the chandelier like an old boat anchor. Put a few more nautical features, she will have her own houseboat! 🤗
I can see MC's birds perching on her chandelier most of the time. Just make sure that the surfaces underneath are "accident proof" or at least easy to keep clean. 😉 🦜🦜🦜🐦🐦🐤🕊🕊

Speaking of Scott, do you pick up his feathers when they shed? I'd so want to gather up all the pretty ones and put them in a nice big vase, maybe on the porch? I've always wondered, cuz I've never seen any laying on the ground. House is looking so good, and I agree, the wall in MaryCarl's room looks great!
I recall in one video back at little CogHill Brooke standing with a bunch of Scott's tailfeathers in hand. Way back I seem to recall that they give them to a friend, the goat soap lady(?) who makes use of them. My late mom said keeping peacock feathers was unlucky according to my granny's generation even though THEY would adorn their headwear with them!!
I think Marycarls room is the nicest looking room in the house. She might be sorry she doesn't have a ceiling fan. They're great.

It’s amazing to see the “mistake” on MaryCarl’s wall. Wow! It really looks stunning - the contrast between the darker wall and the white trim and the awesome green shade that she chose. It looks so sophisticated!! Not like a typical room for a young lady. But then MaryCarl is certainly not a typical young lady (in every good way) so it fits her. So glad it worked out!!
That stained wall in MCs room looks like it has been perfectly aged. Her wall color plays beautifully against it. Perfect.

Lots of decisions to make when building or evening moving to a new home. I only had to do that once and I know I was kind of stressed to get it right. I know I did some things I wish I’d done of things differently.

I have rain barrels that look like your gray barrels. The lids have holes to let the water go in and the center part is where our downspout fits.

I just want to share my response to your bedroom, I love your bedroom, lots of light, the color of green you chose is lovely while even though the ship lap wall may have been a mistake in stain. The richness of the wood grain that the mistake made is awesome. Love love your room.

Wow, loving all the stuff that got accomplished in your barndominium. Wow! And I absolutely love MCs wall. That came out awesome. Must say, I am loving the painted shiplap. I was amazed at mildreds leap over the goat! Can you use that big long feeder as a water trough? Regarding that beautiful sky...when I first saw it it looked like a really big bird with its wings spread out, the deeper color in the middle was the body of the bird.? Do you see it?
I was thinking exactly the same thing about the long feeder! Hope that works out, and if it's situated 90 degrees to the hay feeder, the ducks would have a harder time getting in...
Man alive, the house looks fantastic. I love MaryCarl's wall love her paint color too. The upstairs is pretty. Cannot wait to see the stair rail. I am located me you Jason not scared of spiders at all but snakes, terrified. Have actually petted a tarantula. Mildred is the cutest thing. I wonder why goats don't like water! They are such funny little peacocks are funny characters too

Her room wall looks amazing! I wasn't sure when you said the doors would be grey almost black but seeing it now, it looks good. Both places are really coming together, so happy for you guys. I remember watching Bob Ross as a kid. If I had any talent I could see myself making happy accidents in my free time but they would probably be more like unfixable nightmares.
You reminded me of a video of a bunch of goats that were not happy when it started to rain. I can’t remember who’s channel it was but it was pretty hilarious watching their reaction. We never had goats on our farm, so I wasn’t aware of exactly how much goats hated rain until recently.

On the gray feed barrels remove the cap or plug and put some silicone around the cap that should stop the leak
