Mercedes W140 Ignition Barell Cylinder Removal

- Just a short basic video of how to change that Key Ignition Cylinder Barell . I forgot to ad that when you see the Barell from the other side ,you might need to insert a long Paper clip to close the Lock washer if it is still on the Barell inside ,mine didn't have that part .
Here is a Demonstration of that Paperclip i mean & that Lock ring ,Skip to 2:10 Minutes.

I have seen many that just cut the Neck of the Tube ,No Need for .

I got it of DMP direct . No Longer available with Mercedes Benz Logo except for these ,follow the e'bay link.

I bought the silver ignition part from Mercedes. My question is how should I install it back? I don’t want to lock it again and have to saw it off.
The same way you removed it but make sure the ignition is turned to poition 1 .
The moment you connect the cable on the side of the ignition (gear lock ) and key is not turned into Position 1 ,it all locks instantly .
@@MercS600W140-600SEL-LORINSER thank you sir. You saved me and your absolutely correct. I removed the key blade from the remote and inserted it and turned it to position 1 with pliers and had the new part hooked as well in my hands. While in position 1, I installed it temporarily without the Bolt and the connected the power switch and the brake release cable as you mentioned and it installed perfect. Your key advice was to do all this in Position 1, which springs the deadlock back preventing it from locking permanently.
