      Thank you for viewing and for your kind comments! I’m glad I was able to make this video: the building in which this model RR is located was damaged by flood waters, and the club has been disbanded. 😢. Unlikely the RR will continue to operate.

    Great job, glad you made us look good with editing as we scratched our heads trying to figure out how to get the 543 together and out of there at Claremore.

      Steve Davis it takes a good operator to handle Claremore on its worst days. Last time I ran there was pretty bad.

    I remember seeing this on Google Maps, but it brought me to an under construction building, with one of it's walls missing. I believe I was misdirected and I would like to visit this place. Could you please e-mail me the address? If you do, it will be much obliged, Steve

      Of course, things are a LOT different in Afton today than it was in 1955. At least one grain business is still there!

    Throttle control is horrible. I don't know what kind of layout your running, perhaps better control isn't possible. Otherwise, good job boys. Looks like you folks have a great time. Layout looks nice too. Thanks for sharing.

    Have seen more realistic sessions than this one to be honest: passing some red lights, unrealistic accelerations in Afton, really unrealistic and probably by hand instead of by loco, these railway bills laying in the lay out and interruptions like for the Santa Fe passenger train. Sorry guys your layout looks so good but this performance just doesn't satisfy!

    • @TTownTrainFan
      @TTownTrainFan  4 роки тому

      Some people are more serious operators than others. If you want to see more serious/prototypical operation check out some of my KCS 3rd sub videos, like ua-cam.com/video/P79qJgY3gg4/v-deo.html, or the ATSF Hereford Sub: ua-cam.com/video/7IJCH8pF3xY/v-deo.html
      Also that C&S railroad was built in 1996 and the CTC system doesn't work all that well: signals drop to red, and it isn't DCC so smooth speed control is hard to achieve. I do appreciate your watching and your taking the time to comment!

  • @elvinhowland3741
    @elvinhowland3741 3 роки тому +1

    I think most of these operators run too fast!

    • @TTownTrainFan
      @TTownTrainFan  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, they do. Some of it is just plain running too fast. Another issue is, this is a fairly old model railroad, built in 1996. It isn't DCC, it uses an analog control system called Rail Command. While we do our best to keep the track clean, people tend to run a bit fast to make sure they don't stall. Sadly this railroad is no more. I'm glad I got to capture it on video before it was too late!

    Wow jack rabbit starts. Yards speeds excessive.

    • @TTownTrainFan
      @TTownTrainFan  4 роки тому

      True. The primary problem is ancient Rail Command analog control system. It isn’t DCC. Sadly this RR is no more.

    Wonderful: my criticism would be related to 'everything,' being in pristine new condition, as in there is no aging, no weathering, no rust, no oil, grease, no graffiti on anything - and if anyone is a rail fan, they we/they know that the REAL RRs are covered, smeared in grease/oil/rust, spillage. I love the CONTROL system - and, oh yes, and someone here has laid down the law to these race car converts to train control - to keep speeds realistic. I have seen many million-dollar RRs and the engineers must be Mario Andretti want to bees - very unrealistic. I love this video. Thank you.
