Beautiful layout bud! I learned a lot about operations and the Heavener Sub from here. I'm a touring musician and we perform in Sallisaw a from time to time. I railfan the mainline through there and never knew there was a station nor a huge yard even though there's a huge "gravel parking lot" haha I'm sure it used to mich busier than today as well. keep up the great work and I would love to operate it one day. also great work with your videos you are thorough and the videos aren't boring at all. Please make more!

Southerntreatment Thank you for the kind words!
Sadly the yard at Sallisaw is no longer there. The diamond and interchange with the UP (formerly MP) are still there, but the "yard" is now but a single track.
The 3rd sub ran between Watts and Heavener and Sallisaw was the mid-point yard. Now it's been folded into a much longer "Heavener Sub" which runs between Heavener OK and Pittsburg KS. Watts is now the mid-point yard.

I could hear those shoves and pulls. Twice I heard a knuckle and drawbar give its last. Thought for a moment it was a thunderstorm. I'll have to get down that way to railfan the real deal. Nice layout.

No doubt! I like to operate prototypically and slowly but different folks have different styles and I always keep in mind that we are here for fun primarily. Valid comment though. :-)

Thank you for watching and your comment. Yes, sadly Sallisaw Yard is no more. There is one track, used to interchange cars between the KCS and UP. In the early 1990's the yard was still there and I took some pictures of it. They even tried intermodal operations (trailers on flat cars) there and had a dedicated unloading lift.
Alas as the RR modernized, what was the "3rd Sub" (which is what I model) was folded into what is now the "Heavener Sub" (runs all the way from Pittsburg KS to Heavener OK) Some of what was done in Sallisaw is now done at Watts, OK - the former end of the sub and the new mid-point (roughly).
