"Guys sometimes think that if you love one thing, that it diminishes your love for the other thing." - Nutnfancy. I bet owning the Hayabusa and the Ninja is like loving two children. You love them both, but in different ways. Thanks for sharing the excellent motorcycle review! I enjoy these videos, even though I do not own a motorcycle.
When I first sat on my ZX14R, it just felt right for me. The fact that it's a 1441cc bike with 195+hp is just a bonus. It doesn't feel like a big bike, until you twist the throttle.
I have the 09 zx14. Bought it with 17k miles 2 years ago. It was stolen then recovered and out of my grasp for 6 months. It now has 76k miles. It's mega. And still on its original clutch, amazingly!!
If nothing else I love the easy access of basic maintenance items on the zx14r. Fluid reservoir caps and such right behind those black slash side panels. NOT having to pull the entire side panel like many sport bikes.
Yeah Baby!!!! Bought one this January that had been stolen and recovered. I'm a few weeks and a couple parts from being totally rebuilt on it. Can't wait to ride it.
Thank you for sharing! I'm 52 years old & love me sport bikes. Being 6' & 240 lbs i need more comfort & a machine i can do week long rides on & not feel cramped. The ZX-14 is a weapon of a bike!!!
Keep the moto stuff up! I started after many years of debate but I think your video (should you motorcycle?) something like that made me feel better about it. You are pretty level headed and safe like me but also enjoy "dangerous" things. Thanks Nutn'!
Since 2008, my Father has had a ZX-14 of some flavor or another, and I've gotten to ride a few. Way more power than teenage me was prepared for. It's actually pointed me towards my beloved ZX-6r. Fantastic machines.
Yes, that is the stock seat, called a saddle seat. The engine is a 1441cc inline 4. I own 4 2012's and 1 2013 (all limited editions.) I love them as much as the day I bought them. Linear power and intuitive steering with very good breaks. I'm also 6'3" and weight just over 300lbs, but the bike fits me great. It is a more refined bike than the Busa, but I like the Busa too.
I've had both, and the Hayabusa was just a bit more comfortable for me, I'm riding the 14R now, and I'd pick it over the busa by just a hair if I had to pick again. It does a few thing just a little bit better, and when you open it up it roars just a tick more. I rode about 300 miles today on my 14R and I don't feel like I've done more than run around town a bit. It's seriously a pretty well rounded Superbike that can tour with a bit of adaptation.
I own both as well , 2012 Gen 2 Busa and 2013 ZX14R 1441 , both road ridden and setup to ride fast with full Ohlins suspension so they corner pretty good as well . Love them both equally , the last of the big cc hyper sports , so I plan on keeping them as modern classics .
All I can say Nutn is FINALLY we get the review of the top dog of all motorcycles!!! You only showed/teased a very brief, and I mean brief photo of your red 14 a LONG TIME AGO...and to the best of my knowledge, haven't mentioned it since - WTH was with that!?!? When I saw the video where you showed the red 14, I was totally looking forward to a fun review vid!!! Anywho, as they say, you can't make this stuff up. After selling my 4th, yes 4th ZX-14R, and LITERALLY just receiving my check YESTERDAY from the dealership where I sold it on consignment...you post your review video!!! Good god, the timing!!! 😜 I am now "very unfortunately" done riding motorcycles permanently as I can simply no longer justify the risk vs. reward equation. So it is with a heavy heart and a bittersweet laugh, I am about to watch your review of my beloved, top choice of all motorcycles...the KAWY ZX-14R!!! Thank you for all of the moto vids that you have done over the past several years - with Tactical D, Last Suspect, Bugget, Mrs. Nutn, Matt, and all of your other friends, they've always been a lot of fun to watch! 👍
Very fair and realistic normal man video. I own a Ducati 1299, but am gonna keep it and buy a ZX14. You are exactly right. I used to own a 2008 ZX14 with a Yoshi pipe and power commander. It was super smooth, plenty of usable power, and very good wind protection. I am 6ft1in 285 lbs. I bought a Ducati and it is insane. Makes the ZX14 stock go to shame in every area. I got in so many high speed chases and hit every corner and it sticks like velcro. The bad about Ducati...I will be dead very soon, so I only keep it as a track bike and there is zero wind protection for the Ducati and super uncomfortable. I want a ZX14 because it is super comfy, fast, will not corner as well, but is great for driving around. I kind of regret buying the Ducati, but i got money so whatever. The Ducati is a wicked bike and nothing compares, I test drove them all before buying. ZX14 is more of what I want as a daily driver. It's an awesome bike and my 4ft10in wife can sit on the back of it.
Awesome thorough review.... but.. I have to chime in on what you said about suspension... and this is coming from years of experience and owning several motorcycles... if you do nothing to your suspension settings then at the very least! You should be setting your sag for proper rider weight! Compression and rebound are personal preference but proper suspension sag (spring rate) is probably the single most important setting on any motorcycle. It has the greatest effect on the ride/feel and performance of the motorcycle. Without proper sag your motorcycles suspension is NOT performing the way it should be. There are several videos on how to do this but a general setting is 20mm of bike sag and 30mm of rider sag 15-30mm for rear (with all gear and passengers). Set your spring rate!!!

I had a pearl white ZX14R until last March. It morphed into a 2018 R1200RT cause I already have a S1000rr. The 14 was one of the best bikes I’ve ever ridden. Great review!
The box you put on the rear of the bike really makes the zx14 such a sleeper. To the average highway cop it looks like a regular old touring bike haha.
I agree a lil bit with you that FJR 1300 is a beast o rode one at a test ride for yamaha 2018 omg but the seat inder ne got really hot during the ride we were the last ones that day to ride so he took us on a long ride and the seat after 10 minute got super hot. And check this out sir nobody rode that bike that day but earlier that morning it had been sitting all day. I rode at about 4:30pm the bike didnt move after 9am.
I rode the 2018 matt blue at the Yamaha test ride in Motorcy le Mall. Iam telling you that bike is fast and comfortable a lot of cargo space. The only thing is that we had the last ride we rode for a long time that fjr 1300 gets hot under that seat. It gets about 380 mile to the tank under reasonable conditions other than that it's a beast sport tourer.
For those that do not want the 7:45 riding position and prefer to be in a more upright, touring, position, I highly recommend the Kawasaki Versys 1000LT... Same engine as the Ninja 1000, just tuned for lower torque and power. My 2016 model is in Candy Lime Green and I love it! Whatever bike one gets, get ANTI-LOCK BRAKES! The OH Shite! moments most often leads to over-pulled brakes and wheel lock (then slide).
Great review, Nutn. I still have my ‘98 Honda interceptor vfr 800 and I love it. I ride it to work as often as I can given the weather. It’s actually a 781 cc v4 engine with a single-sided swingarm. Has gear-driven cams. Sounds awesome.
I'm 325 and 71 years old but I plan on getting one after I get my car paid off in three years hopefully. My wife said that I am not as strong as I used to be so I shouldn't get a bike and I told her that all in need is a strong right wrist. I am actually in good shape for my size and age.
I just graduated from police motors school here in Utah. I ride a 2017 Harley Electra Glide for work. I've always liked bikes but this is the most I've riden on streets (experience mostly on dirt bikes). I'm loving the bike content, it's so awesome getting paid to ride 😊
i have this exact one...including the rare red colour which is specific to the first gen II ZX14R. Kawasaki know EXACTLY what they are doing with this bike....it dominates and obliterates anything on the road, even owning an H2 will not give you an edge over this in real world circumstances. this rocket ship bounces pass the 300kph mark with ease in seconds and it will sit there without effort. there is not a rider on this planet that can convince me this machine has flaws....it is perfection. this is my affidavit 👊
I have ridden for a long time. Look into adjusting your suspension correctly. Normally takes 2 people and 30min-1hr. Both front and back spring tensions, rebound, and damper. There are UA-cam videos that teach you how to do it, and it is necessary. Everyone is a different weight and requires their motorcycle/scooter suspension set up individually. Great video!
I know you from your other channel. I have a ZX4R and a C-14, love them both. Rode the ZX-14R for 1350 miles in two and a half days. Running in front of a storm. Bike was fantastic both on the flat and the mountains. Handled a 40 mph plus crosswind for 150 miles. Never had a worry. If you're careful with it, one could be a newish rider and grow into it. But careful is the word. Great video on a bike I love.
Ha Ha Ha ! I am Japanese and riding K1200 , and struggling with series of electric Issues on every 3 weeks. I regret choosing German Machine. (as My friend has GTR 1400 already)
Very cool review. I sold my ZX14 (2007) a few years ago. Mine had Area-P slip ons and it was absolute music to the ears! I changed out the screen to a Zero Gravity. To say it was fast was the understatement of the year.
Nutn you have literally changed my life, I now have started to do some basic prepping, I now edc, mountain bike more and even camp. I have also started developing systems for everyone of these pursuits, but even before I found tnp I was a biker problem is now I am moving away from sports bikes like my gsxr 750 and wanting more to move into either a hyper bike or sports adventure like a BMW s1000xr, so can I say thank you for my new found outlook on life. I am having a hell of alot more fun than 5 years ago (just wish the UK was more cool like America but I'm doing my best with what I got 👍👍👍) oh and my van and bikes rock tnp stickers even in sunny Manchester
The sr1k is cool but Matt’s has proven very pricey. Nf knows more details but it’s very much the old ‘why fix this part when you can replace the whole system’ kind of repair. Maybe the xr is better but the gear is pretty close. The ktm and ducati adv bikes are radical, but not without gremlins. -Doodle
@@nutnfancy Yeah this is the problem I am having with euro bikes, I have had Ducati's in the past (748,749s and a 999r) and no matter how good they look they are always broken, I was hoping the BMW would be different but I'm hesitant to spend £15000 to find out. On the other hand I can get a upgradef low mileage zzr1400 for £8000 and the look fantastic in Kawasaki green 👍👍
Been here for about a decade and think I like your moto vids the best! Waiting to see what Kawasaki replaces the KLR 650 with after the final 2018 model.
The ZX-14r is in a class of its own. No other bike can match it for performance and comfort. There are bikes that can match its performance, but don't have the 14's comfort. There are bikes that are as comfortable, but don't have the 14's performance.
CBR1000rr rider here. Power definitely has helped me out of soooo many sticky situations. It’s only dangerous if you get about 7-8K RPMs....then it feels like it’s gonna rip your arms off. I never want more power, but I definitely would like more comfort. I’m 26 and 5’ 7” so I put up with the aggressive ergos and enjoy the great power and handling. But my next bike will probably be more comfortable. I would love to demo a ZX-14 someday!
ive owned my 14 for over 4 years now and I still love it.. however.. I did need more haha ive modded it severely and its absolutely scary!! and still corners like a champ. not stretched or anything like that, I love corners at over 250km/hr lol
This was *great* Nut'n! Beautiful machine. You're probably the only person I would allow to ride my current (and probably last) bike, a BMW R1200RT. To you it would seem light, slow, and with a sound reminiscent of a 1950's aircraft, but it is a SYLA + comfort bike ; )
Hey what a great review on the zzr1400. I was after one of these last year but couldn't find one in my area for sale. I ended up buying a busa 2014 with 1000 mile on the clock. At the end of your review you compared the kawa to the busa and said not really much between them . I've looked at maybe selling the busa and getting the Zzr1400 but, you've now convinced me to keep my bike. I do like the busa quite a lot, its just with this covid stuff going on I've only done 200 miles in the last year. I just really need to go out and ride. Thanks for your comparison on the bikes, happy riding bud.
I was familiar with your 1000 in a day, and wondered if and when you would review a Kawi. Thanks for an excellent review. As you said both would be excellent bikes. And even if they can make the scenery disappear in the rear views is no reason that has to happen all the time.
I’ve owned. 2020 14r for only about a month, am in my 50s and had a m license for 30ish years. I can tell you this thing will be the last bike I purchase. There simple isn’t a better bike, of course I have seen the 2021s yet🙂
Own a CBR1000RR and a drz400sm and it makes life tough choosing which to chose when opening the garage. Wife finally wanted to get her own and got a 2018 ninja 400 and is coming along slowly getting it. She understands now what I love about it.
Nice video Nutn! My first bike was a 2008 Zx14! Love it! Two other bikes since getting vid of it! Just bought the Big 2019 Kawasaki Concours! Never will I let this bike go! Back together again!
Having owned a KTM and a few BMWs, and many, many Japanese bikes, I completely agree with your comments on reliability and maintenance. I did own a Triumph Tiger 800 that seemed to be just as easy to maintain and just as reliable as Japanese bikes.
Best bike I've owned and I drive it 82 miles/day commuting on CA interstates, wouldn't want any other production bike available today besides the ZX14 to do that commute
Finally some more motorcycle content! Hope to see some ride n eats and dirt biking videos as the summer goes on I currently own a harley street bob And just got a yz125 a couple months ago as a re entry into dirt biking
I went to the dealer to buy a new busa but it wasn’t very comfortable. I tossed a leg over a zx14r that was a few bikes down. I rode my 2019 zx14r away a few days later. Still love it. Only performance upgrades are a K&N air filter, DELKEVIC 18” ovals and a MOORE MAFIA tuned ECU.
Bought my blue/black 08" Hayabusa new and to this day, 0 regrets. Chose the Busa over the 14 simply because of aesthetics and ergonomics... lol! The exact reason why most ZX-14 riders don't choose the Hayabusa. ;-)
I've owned one since 2013. In my stable of 4 other bikes, it is still the best overall AND fastest bike I have ever owned. If insurance was more reasonable up here in Ontario, Canada, I'd buy a couple of more so I had them for the next 30 years.
At 2:55 ... “One of the main reasons you get a ZX14 is because you just like looking cool...” (camera pans the bike revealing a storage case that looks like a portable Doppler radar 😂) **I’m LOL, but I’ll be getting similar storage on mine! I’m an old guy too, and in this case, it’s function over looks. Made me smile 😊 LoveTNP and all the awesome videos, you do a great job👍👍
If I were cross shopping these two the deciding factor for me would be; I think the zx-14r looks really good, and the hayabusa looks like dog poop. Totally subjective. The intent of these bikes is definitely more interceptor than fighter. What I mean by that is in combat jets fighters are designed for dog fighting. That is, close in, tight turning fights, which mandate maneuverability. Interceptors are all about big engines, and covering long distances really fast. They're typically designed around the engines, have smaller wings, don't turn as well, but man can they move. That's what I think of when I look at these bikes, and I think fighter jet when I see 600 or 1000 superbikes.
You should look at the Kawasaki zzr 1200. A bit more relax ergo than the zx14 which is nice for long distance ride (over 600 miles per day) very cheap now, will still do 185.
Awesome review, man! On Zx6R right now, and it's already too much power and too much almost everything for my skills. Love the stopping power though, you can never have too much of it. But I will change it to a battleship like this, most probably ST 1100 or FJR. Zx14R maybe some day, why not.
I own a gen1 gen2 and gen 3 busa and had a 21 zx14 which I rode from sw florida to the most northern part of nj and back in 3 days total. Came back sold the 14. And bought a 22 zx14. I prefer the 14 for my longer distance rides, but I am a busa guy at heart...
I own a 1988 ZX-10 Ninja that I bought new, it's painted in almost the same paint scheme. My Ninja has the same red as the main color, black on top of the gas tank, top of the front faring, and lower main fairing. It was the top-dog back in the day. And as you say, if you're out in the middle of no where, you can open her up. I've only added a Yoshimura 4 into 1 pipe for mods, and a carb jet kit. It makes incredible amounts of power, and it's only a 1000cc design. The fairing has a lot to do with it, I guess. It's very slippery in the wind. Good Luck with yours!
Those 80's zixxers seem to enjoy a bit of a halo effect from top gun, don't they? Seems like their costs are always rising on the collector's market, especially with a good color combo. Sounds like a good bike my man! -Doode
Dude, always liked your reviews, you do a great job! I would say if I lived out west, at 5:08 you nailed it, I wouldn't be riding a Harley as my primary, I would be on one of these especially with the altitude. I have a CBR 600RR for the track and a Harley for cruising but out west where it is so "big and vast" I will have to say this would be my primary cruiser. I still might get one for the east coast but I think it might be a waste out here on our roads with our idiotic speed limits, lol. Be safe!

@@BuxWV149 Nah, I already have an RV. I'm good.

Yeah but that Suzuki's looks are like the ugly ginger step child.

I think that bike is a in-line 4 cylinder... 🤔 definitely not a V-twin 23:20
It is a in-line 4 cylinder
yeah i heard that too idk what he is talking about.
Perhaps he's referring to the available low end torque which is probably excellent.
Maybe he was thinking of his KTM?
Just making sure I wasn’t the only one to hear that lol

I just graduated from police motors school here in Utah. I ride a 2017 Harley Electra Glide for work. I've always liked bikes but this is the most I've riden on streets (experience mostly on dirt bikes). I'm loving the bike content, it's so awesome getting paid to ride 😊
Congrats, stay safe.
Congrats...thank you for serving, be safe out there
i have this exact one...including the rare red colour which is specific to the first gen II ZX14R.
I just picked up a 2019 because of this video!!😃 Love it!! Thanks for a great review, from Colorado.
I'm trading my Z900 for one soon, what's it like so far?
Iv'e had my bike almost 3 years and I still love it and how I feel riding it. I also like just looking at it and maintaining it's good looks.
I did the Iron Butt on the ZX-14R, it was surprisingly very comfortable.
I just bought a kawasaki Z900RS! Cafe! LOVE IT.
Great view Nutn! Had a GTR1400 (Conours 14) for the last 5 years, couldn't ask for a better bike. Too spoiled by the 3 boxes and shaft drive ;)
Awesome bike. Great choice. Would love to know the power difference between zx14 and the concours.
@@ralphdodson9865 the Connie wears a detuned zx14 motor. That said it's plenty of power with tall gears that'll pull all day long.
Ha Ha Ha ! I am Japanese and riding K1200 , and struggling with series of electric Issues on every 3 weeks.
I regret choosing German Machine. (as My friend has GTR 1400 already)
Most deplomatic review on the best 2 bikes in the world roll that power on Sir.
Nutn, I’ve been subbed since 08 and motorcycle vids will always be my favourite vids of yours
Very cool review. I sold my ZX14 (2007) a few years ago. Mine had Area-P slip ons and it was absolute music to the ears! I changed out the screen to a Zero Gravity. To say it was fast was the understatement of the year.
DUDE!!!! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR MC VIDS!!!! THANKS!!
Awesome review. Nice change up in subject matter but related. I have been riding for decades and love the lifestyle. Thanks Nutn.
I owned the Zzr 14 and busa at same time too, prefer the Kawasaki too the busa, great review dude.
I haven't watched your channel in a while and it's grown a ton!! Congratulations!!
Try the kawasaki concours 14!
ive owned my 14 for over 4 years now and I still love it..
Mines a 2013 too. Unbelievably fantastic bike. 198 BHP at the wheel after a remap.
Excellent review! I would love to ride one. Can’t wait for your FJR review👍👍
Great review. I like that you took your time and didn’t try to cram everything into 10 minutes.
If I had the money?!!! Guess I'll just keep hanging on to my 95 ZX11. At 62 it's fast enough for me, almost. 52,000 miles and still no problems.
Nice video Nutn! My first bike was a 2008 Zx14! Love it! Two other bikes since getting vid of it! Just bought the Big 2019 Kawasaki Concours! Never will I let this bike go! Back together again!
Love the Ninja I have a ZX-10R and are about to get the ZX 14R.Great video.
I may not need more Kawasaki, but I certainly do need more cowbell.
Can Never have Too Much Cowbell 👍
Love the zx-14 and Concourse. Thanks for the vid, nutn!
Having owned a KTM and a few BMWs, and many, many Japanese bikes, I completely agree with your comments on reliability and maintenance. I did own a Triumph Tiger 800 that seemed to be just as easy to maintain and just as reliable as Japanese bikes.
About time we get more motorcycle vids!!!
Everybody Dies, not everyone Lives! You Sir are Living! 😎😎😎😎
Best bike I've owned and I drive it 82 miles/day commuting on CA interstates, wouldn't want any other production bike available today besides the ZX14 to do that commute
Guns are cool but motorcycles are GREAT!
NF with the moto review! I love the channel! I'm going to patreon now. I've been lurking too long! Keep it up! Just picked up my MT-09 today!
Finally some more motorcycle content! Hope to see some ride n eats and dirt biking videos as the summer goes on I currently own a harley street bob And just got a yz125 a couple months ago as a re entry into dirt biking
Good review, I have the 2018 ZZR 1400 and totally agree that it’s an awesome bike.
I own a 2015 zx14r 30th anniversary..and your review is spot on..good job
I went to the dealer to buy a new busa but it wasn’t very comfortable. I tossed a leg over a zx14r that was a few bikes down. I rode my 2019 zx14r away a few days later. Still love it. Only performance upgrades are a K&N air filter, DELKEVIC 18” ovals and a MOORE MAFIA tuned ECU.
That was an excellent review. You gave some very good details I was meeting. Thank you very much.🇺🇸😎
Mines the 2013 Pearl White, it's still an awesome machine. Thanks for the review!
Haha love the review brother! Makes me want to go get another bike right now. Ride safe.
I have a ZX14 & how effortless it develops speed & how rider friendly it is has no comparison.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm you obviously haven't tried a KTM
Golden Centrifuge I haven’t but what model KTM are you referring to?
1776ERS any of the road bikes. Super duke specifically
@@tactical-bucket have you tried a zx14r comfort, value ,power no comparison
Bought my blue/black 08" Hayabusa new and to this day, 0 regrets. Chose the Busa over the 14 simply because of aesthetics and ergonomics... lol! The exact reason why most ZX-14 riders don't choose the Hayabusa. ;-)
Lol. So true. Rejected the 'Busa exactly because of that.
'09 ZX14 rider.
I've owned one since 2013. In my stable of 4 other bikes, it is still the best overall AND fastest bike I have ever owned. If insurance was more reasonable up here in Ontario, Canada, I'd buy a couple of more so I had them for the next 30 years.
What do you pay a year/month for your zx14r? Just curious!
I got mine on Friday , incredible machine , in everyway . ❤️
At 2:55 ... “One of the main reasons you get a ZX14 is because you just like looking cool...” (camera pans the bike revealing a storage case that looks like a portable Doppler radar 😂)
**I’m LOL, but I’ll be getting similar storage on mine!
Totally agreement on that. Busa is ugly as hell. Not that I'm biased in any way...hands down the zx14r is better bike than any busa period
Another Nutnfancy motorcycle review???!!! WTH!!! Yuuuussss!!!!
Love this interview. Everything I wanted to explore, you touched upon. Thanks !
I have a 2017 zx14r and I can say I love my bike.
At 6:12 I have to agree. Thought about getting a touring bike but having speed to get out of situations is a must. Sport bike is favored by me.
You should look at the Kawasaki zzr 1200. A bit more relax ergo than the zx14 which is nice for long distance ride (over 600 miles per day) very cheap now, will still do 185.
Nutn, Brilliant review as I would imagine you are the best gun review were on the planet God bless you sir and keep it going
I enjoy going between my 250 Yamaha dirtbike in my Z x14 God bless you
I love the motorcycle reviews nutn. Keep em coming.
I think your channel is awesome. I currently own a 2019 FJR and love the torque.
Yes! I’ve been waiting for this one!
Thanks for your patience!
I just clicked 2x speed for the first time. It makes you sound super excited about the bike. And you love the bike :)
Great video...Been a subscriber since the beginning... Got new KLR650 2014.5 in 2014 back when you started putting up videos of adventure bikes..
-Doode
I love the Kawasaki ninja zx14r, it's beautiful.
Can't wait for the fjr review!
Be safe!
