  • Welcome to my video on the history of Pink Floyd, one of the most influential and iconic bands in rock history.
Pink Floyd was formed in London in 1965, and their first album, 'The Piper at the Gates of Dawn' was released the following year. The founder of the band was guitarist Syd Barrett, but after his departure due to his mental instability, bassist and vocalist Roger Waters took over the role of creative leader.
In the 1970s, Pink Floyd released some of the most famous albums of their career, such as 'Dark Side of the Moon', 'Wish You Were Here' and 'The Wall'. These albums pushed the boundaries of progressive rock, with their use of synthesizers, psychedelic sounds and experimental lyrics.
The band has also gained a reputation for their spectacular live performances, which have included the use of lights, lasers and visual projections. Their 1977 "Animals" tour was a one-of-a-kind experience, with huge inflatable pigs flying above the audience.
However, internal tension in the band led to Waters' departure in 1985, and the group continued without him, releasing albums such as 'A Momentary Lapse of Reason' and 'The Division Bell'. The band officially broke up in 1995, but the members have occasionally reunited for live concerts.
In this video, we'll explore the history of Pink Floyd, from their formation to their musical innovations and spectacular live performances. We will also discover the causes of the internal tension of the band and the consequences of their dissolution. I hope this video helps you better understand Pink Floyd's incredible influence on popular music and culture.
Their membership has gone through several variations over the years, but core members include:
