I love Noah…being partnered with Tom is a tall order…he is claiming his place respectfully, playfully, and his kiss on Tom’s cheek while holding their medals tops it off. A genuine friendship between two mates. 🇳🇿🇳🇿🐑🐑NZ
I love hearing from Noah. Tom has been around the diving scene for years, but it demonstrates how easy Tom is to get along with and how good Matt, Noah and Tom are! They are fantastic guys and congratulations. I can't wait to watch the interview of Jack and Anthony’s bronze medal win today
Great interview. Matty and Tom were great Noah and Tom were great. I adore Tom [don't we all?] - he's a young British guy who has worked hard all his life to achieve his dreams; a good looking, intelligent and quirky dad of two; humble; a fighter for LGBTQI+ rights. Noah - we should all be proud of what he's just achieved by winning a Silver in his first ever Olympics. He has a voice too and Tom doesn't try and thwart that - even if reporters do. I hope he goes on to great things in diving also.
What brings him back is he's still in good shape. It's easier to walk away when you're struggling against new blood. But when you're still amongst the top you always wonder if you have more left
I've been following Tom for 16 years (5 Olympic cycles). He has been a steady winner and amazingly grounded guy. So proud of him and Noah getting their Silver medals.
As an American, they only showed about 30 minutes of the men’s 10M platform diving on network TV. Did Daley even entered the men’s 10 meter (solo) platform? Or did he not make it past the first round?
Congratulations guys. So glad you came back Tom no matter what the reason. Doing it for Robbie now means you have to do it for Phoenix at the next Olympics. You aren't allowed to have favourites.
I do think that Robbie's "encouragement" helped you, Tom, to make the decision to return. And WHAT a thrill to see your family in the crowd with Lance cheering you on! How much did Phoenix understand of what was happening? And lest I forget, Thanks for ALL the Memories: Bronze again and again and again, Silver, and Gold! I still look at your first World Championship in Rome, and see how proud your Dad was of your performance!
What an amazing performance by Noah and Tom, bringing out their best when it mattered the most and truly earning that medal. And such big hearts as well. Congrats, from the U.S.!
Noah did a great job in Olympics. I hope he gets as much recognition in the UK as Tom Daley did. Here in America the only mention Tom Daley’s name never his teammate. Tom would not have won 3 of his 5 Olympic medals if it wasn’t for his diving partner, being just as good.
As an American, they only showed about 30 minutes of the men’s 10M platform diving on network TV. Did Daley even entered the men’s 10 meter (solo) platform? Or did he not make it past the first round?
Tom did not participate in the men’s 10m individual diving event this year. He is famous because of his entire 23-year career, not just one Olympic competition this year. He started diving at the age of 7, began competing professionally at 9, and won Junior International titles. At 14, he competed in his first Olympics and placed 7th. At 15, he won a gold medal at the World Championships. He then went on to win medals in the next four Olympic Games. With 23 years of career experience, 5 Olympics, 5 Olympic medals, he is an Olympic champion, World champion, European champion, and Commonwealth Games champion, among many other achievements. I think it’s easy to find out about Tom’s accomplishments through his Wiki page. So don't doubt or underestimate Tom and his career just because of someone else you admire.
@@diverone3433 thanks for your reply I don’t know where in the world, how your reading comprehension, of where did I say, at all, I ever diminished Tom’s “past” diving Olympic accomplishments? I’m just wondering why he did not compete in the 10 meter individual platform? Wikipedia did not explain that to me. - I’ve looked on UA-cam, and I only just brings up thousands of videos of his past accomplishments So I only could deduct, that he didn’t make it past the first round. - Otherwise, as he only specializes in platform diving (and not springboard diving) I was just curious of why he did not compete in the men’s individual 10 meter platform diving at Paris 2024.
@@MikeCee7 Because individual training is harder since you need to have more complicated dives. On top of synchro training that takes up more time. He is the oldest diver on the team GB team, and he has 2 kids below 6 years old to take care of plus knitted clothing line business to manage. He also only decided to come back to competing after taking a two year or so break in October last year. So he only had time to train and get in shape for synchro. However, Tom does compete individual dives during team competitions (it's not not an Olympic category but is in the worlds series competitions and it's a complete separate category from the regular synchro and individual events) where there are 4 divers -two men, two women and involves mixed synchro in both platform and individual (Tom also does the mixed synchro on springboard for the team category), and the one individual platform and springboard dives for 1 man and 1 woman on the team - and whichever team has combined highest score wins the team competition. Tom was also the one to compete in the individual competitions that qualified Team GB to the 2024 Olympics. He finished high enough in the standings to get Team GB spots - the way that works is that there are specific competitions that are designated qualifications for the Olympics, and a diver from a country has to place within a specific ranking in those competitions (either top 3/5/7 etc.) in order for their country to get a spot for the Olympics. It also determines how many spots a country can qualify for. Once a country gets the spot, the country can then send any diver on their team roster to actually compete in the Olympics regardless on which diver "won" the qualification spot for the country. In the case of Paris, Team GB assigned Noah and Kyle Kothari for the 2 individual competition spots since Tom couldn't train for it.
@@kyokojohnfan Wow! Thanks for all the information! You must know a lot about diving, and/or Olympic qualifications in general. It appears, you were the most perfect person to answer my question. And from watching some other track and field UA-cam videos, I think the top 6 men in the 400 meters qualified because we had a 16 year old kid that won the gold medal from competing in the just thr preliminaries, when he almost messed up, and we barely even made it to the next round. Then they replaced him in the semi’s in the finals with the bunch of other runners. Like even the 400 meter hurdler ran in the final. - So this is all new news to me about countries have the qualify for a sport. maybe it’s only certain sports? - I do know thanks to you guys, and “Eddie the Eagle” in 1988, they made new rules. that now had certain classifications even to make it to the ski jump. When does Tom get Knighted? Sir Tom
WELL DONE G B .!!!
Love Tom and Noah! Congratulations!
there's something poetic about it being the first and the last olympic for each of them
it's not Noah's first Olympics
