I think a lot of the “hairless” rats you see in pics are actually double rex rats that appear hairless. True hairless rats are extremely rare, and not easy to breed or to find for adoption. True hairless (or “Sphinx”) rats are almost exclusively bred for laboratory and research purposes, not for the pet trade. They would actually be sought less as pets because of the medical issues and the lifespan, which is typically 1/2 the length of other pet rats. There are many Double rex rats who appear “hairless” but still have whiskers and lashes (and yes, they do all have whiskers, just as single Rex rats do) however, and they don’t have the same problems and can have long, healthy lives. The main concerns are protecting the skin (adding coconut or olive oil to bread and allowing them to enjoy the snack, then groom themselves usually helps keep the skin healthy), and keeping warm, but as long as they have other rats to snuggle with they do great. They are wonderful pet-quality rats and are in no way any more problematic physically (or ethically) than any other variety of rat. And they are the ones you see in so many pics, for sure.
There are many different genes under the name 'hairless'. Some will have some some fuzz still (and still not be drex). The underdeveloped thymus gland is only found in one type of hairless I believe 🙂 Whether we should be breeding this to begin with can be debated - should we be trying to better varieties that we know have had genetically predisposed problems, or should we only work on bettering varieties that we know are issue-free? There are several other rats that are known to have issues related to the line, for example black eyed white rats or some lines of blue rats I think. These are just less obvious or thought about than the hairless issues. It's a very interesting discussion for sure!
All rats are wonderful, lovable and adorable, but after witnessing how many health issues my two naked rescues had, I'm not sure if there is an "ethical" way to breed every single rat variety. Manx are the worst in my opinion, poor ratties need their tails.
People can be so weird when breeding. ‘You know that part of a rat which is beautiful, soft, feels wonderful to stroke and keeps them warm? Let’s get rid of it!’ ‘You know that part of the dog that swishes and shows it’s mood and is delightful? Let’s cut it off!’
@@aikikaname6508 Well, the dog things makes sense for actively working breeds/dog as a lot of the jobs they did made having a tail more of a liability than anything else. I do agree that other than that specific circumstance that they should keep their tails.
One of my first rats was a hairless rat and thought he was so cute …until he started fighting with the other rats and was covered in scratches and scarring. I will never get a hairless rat again because it was quite traumatic seeing my rat so injured after a regular rat scrabble and not knowing how to keep him safe aside from separating him all together.
Putting ethical breeding questions aside for a moment, I feel obligated to put in a good word for hairless rats. I've had 4 hairless boys and all of them had curly whiskers, similar to a Rex. They were super sweet and affectionate and they just stole my heart as soon as I saw them. I found their skin to be extremely soft and almost velvety, not at all like a ballsack. I can understand why a lot of people aren't taken with hairless rats the way I am, but they still make wonderful pets. Disclaimer: I didn't seek out hairless rats, they just happened to be available.
I had two hairless rescues, they had so many health issues. They didn't come from a great background, so that might have played a part. Both were extremely shy in the beginning and there was something off about their behavior, very slow and clumsy, they almost appeared mentally handicapped. Still turned out to be the sweetest boys once they learned to trust me. My little Vincent would follow me around like a dog, always trying to climb up my leg, and they did feel wonderfully soft. I loved them so much and miss them a lot.
I have 2 hairless males and 2 hairless females. I love their soft skin and love when they cuddle up with me. Watching them clean their whiskers is so cute. They even clean my eyelashes. It can be a bit rough when they get into fights (scratches and wounds, it I file my rats nails down so it doesn't turn out so bad). My first 2 rats were Oreo who looked like an Oreo and Raisin who was hairless but she had whiskers and eyelashes. When I saw her with her dumbo ears I was hooked. I would love a Siamese rat. I have a litter of babies that look like cows...black and white. The mom has a tan spot on her face that looks like a smudge...which is her name. Her sister has a black face and looks like a badger ...her name. I love all rats but I don't think I would want a Manx rat. They need their tails.
curly whiskers isnt rly an argument since they are almost unuseable for the rat, Rex is also a torture breed just like hairless, and curly whiskers is one of the reasons for it.
thanks emi for helping me get my pet rats! my parents werent fond of them at first but after i showed them your rats and how clean they really are, i got them!
@@nicoleisabelvillenabustill5770 I am not completely sure, I just showed my parents videos of them grooming themselves, not the best but i also had my aunt on my side, i hope you can get your own ratites!
Im getting rats in 1 week! Im so excited! I've researched for so long and im so excited, to distract myself from waiting, I watch all of your videos over an over again! Im very excited and I love your shirt :). Also you were talking about a Russian blue Dumbo, thats one of the varieties im getting! His name is Jason :)
I personally love all rats, especially dwarf rats because they are less prone to health issues like cancer and tumors. I love your tier lost grading since you are so respectful for all rats and also because you don’t sort them purely based from their appearance, but based from health issues they are prone to. Keep up the good work! You are doing so well ❤️
2 of my rats are Silvermane (or also called; Silken). They're SO soft, the fur definitely feels different from other breeds. I hope you'll be able to have a Silvermane/Silken one day
I’ve got a silken too, they are so soft and truly live up to their name! If you’re ever in the South for a show, Zephyr stud has a lovely silken line! That’s where I got my first 3 girls from and they’re brill :)
I also have a Silken (Chestnut, v similar kind of colouring to Topaz)! Her sister is non-Silken and they feel SO different. She doesn't have the "typical Silvermane" darker shading on her face, but she has it on a streak on her back instead.
I love your taste in rat breeds, and the "a rat is a rat," and it is SO true. I don't have rats, but I have two female mice, Chai and Bamboo. I love them so much, and in the future I really want rats. I think you're the best youtuber ever! Thank you for making your videos to educate us all! 😊😊😊😊
It’s always so funny how the rats we don’t fall in love with visually can be the ones who become our heart rats. None of the rats I’ve had were chosen because of their variety, it’s always been about timing and the personality of the rats the rescue has available, and how well they might adapt to my current mischief. I never thought I would have a “naked” rat, they just never appealed to me, but when I was looking to get a companion to two others who had lost a buddy, the rescue I adopt from had been given a number of double rex rats from a guy who bred them as snake food but decided to quit breeding. Since they had so many that needed homes, I adopted a double rex female. She looked hairless (definitely not a “patchwork”), with just a tiny smudge of dark on her nose that made her appear somewhat Siamese, with smooth pale skin everywhere else but without the extra folds of skin most of them seem to have. I never thought I would think a hairless-looking rat was attractive, but she was GORGEOUS! Her ears were especially long, her nose had a slight bend to it that made her appear somehow like I think an Egyptian Rat Goddess might, and she moved in graceful jumps, like a porpoise on land. She was regal looking, a true beauty. I miss my little nakie Gabby every day.
There are so many varieties I love. If I could get any, my dream rat would ve either a black Berkshire dumbo Rex ( with or without blaze) or a Dalmatian. I love black and white rats, but I agree with the hooded being just too common.
i had a trio of silvermane dumbo rexes 🥺🥺 my dad used to call them my “three mouseketeers”. i loved them so much. they were SO soft and sweet, my time with them was treasured greatly. their names were nochu, mochi, and piper. they’re definitely my favorite mix of any varieties and i miss them sm!!!
i used to not care for agouti coloured rats when i just saw them in pictures. but THEN i met some agouti rats irl, and turns out they are soooo cute!!! pictures really don't give them justice
I think I prefer top eared rats to dumbos (although I ❤ both). I just feel they're less common now days. I have a top eared roan and a blue dumbo. Love them so much ❤
I've always got roans as I noticed the females have less of a tendency to develop tumors, in my personal experience, in comparison to other breeds. Over the last five years alone of strictly owning roans, only one developed a tumor.
@@cecerats I wasn't trying to say they do not develop tumours, as I have had roans that have. I was just saying in my experience I noticed they had less of a tendency to develop them was all. All breeds develop tumours, but its less frequent when getting from a breeder vs a commercial pet store.
I had Russian Blue Dumbo rats. I also found a baby brown rat which fell from my nephews attic who's eyes were still closed. I thought I was being clever when he was found and thought it was a she, so I named her Tara', which is 'A Rat' backwards. But when I took it to the vet to check for disease etc he said it was a he...but Tara, the name stayed. I kept him till he died at over two years old. Great to see your channel up and running in your new home Emi. Moose
I got a silvermane rat by ”accident” and I’m so in love with her! I got a dumbo agouti and after about a week living with her and her fur changing I realized she is a silvermane. She is so lively and energetic❤️❤️
I just got a pair of albino rats. There are exactly zero rattery’s in Alaska. The only rats allowed are albinos and the only option I found was buying a pair of very young rats that were destined to be feeders from a chain pet store. I’ve only had them for a week, but they are taking to their cage, play fighting, popcorning, and coming to my hand and licking baby food off of my fingers. One is crawling all over my hand and the other baby is licking it off of the spoon…we’re making progress, slowly but surely. I have a play area marked off and once they’re used to being picked up we will begin work on getting used to that. I really appreciate your videos, I’ve learned so much about rats and their care/proper living space etc. if there was any other option I would not have gotten them from the pet store but, living up here this is the only option I have atm. Thanks again!

Omg i wish you could see my ADORABLE pumpkin siamese. She is SO daft, that literally my other rat (Sage the husky) will sleep on her, and pumpkin is completely oblivious. It is so cute.
The first two rats i ever got were both roans, and it was so cool to see how they went from almost full grey to 100% white. Ive mainly only ever had your rat of the mill common rats like Roans and Black fancys, but they make up for that with their personalities, and thats all i need.
omggg i have 4 dwarf rats and I love them so much😭❤️ They are SUPER energetic compared to standard ratties and at over 1 year old, they all run all over the place and are crazy little babies🥰
My new favorite are Martin’s! I know these probably got looped in with the red eye rats but I do feel like they’re a little more unique. This was an awesome video I love seeing everyone’s different opinions :)
bit off topic for the video but i discovered something super cool. if you put newspaper (or any paper like thing) rip it up, put it at the bottom, they will bring it to one of thier many beds. This most likely will keep their brains active and my rats personally enjoy having it
my rats love to do that too, also with regular paper and tissues! and if you put a towel on top of their cage, they will try to drag in inside of "fight" with it's flapping sides 😂
I think brown wild rats are the ones that look the prettiest. That being said, wild rats belong in the wild, they're not pets. I never found hooded, husky or dumbo rats that pretty, but after having adopted and bonded with rats who looked like that, it's impossible not to love all rats that remind me of them
I love Rex rats I didn't know the term hairless meant without eyelashes or whiskers! My "hairless" rats have about as much fur as a human in general I would never want a poor baby who doesn't have whiskers!
I had to learn the hard way with hairless animals. I love how they look and feel but I've had to accept they probably aren't ethical to breed/keep. My mom has several hairless rats, I think the first one was pretty healthy but didn't live as long as he should have, the others got respiratory problems. My parents had a hairless cat and he got an infection in basically his whole digestive system and died at 4. I had a hairless mouse recently and I found her dead at only 4 months old, I think she got too cold but she also just never thrived and was thin. I love hairless animals but I guess we just shouldn't mess with nature so much.
We have 6 boys, 5 brothers and one being their cousin. Tumnus - Black Dumbo (smallest of them all) Boom - Husky/Badger Dumbo Bean - Siamese Red Eyed Dumbo (Cream/White w/ dark nose) Kipling - Siamese Red Eyed Dumbo (he was originally cream with half of his face being white but as he’s gotten older he is now completely white) Peanut - Black Top Eared Grinch - Siamese Ruby Eyed Double Rex ( he is the youngest and cousin to the other 5, the fur he has is cream at the moment but turning white as he gets older so he looks naked most of the time) The 5 brothers are 13 weeks and Grinch is 9 weeks. They are all so friendly and loving to each other and us. This is my first time owning rats and my experience so far has been nothing but pleasant
Hairless Rats are my absolute favorite, but I also agree with your opinion regarding their health and the ethics of breeding them. I love them still, it’s not their fault they have health issues. 😔 I also really like the Giant Cloud Rat (it’s not a domesticated variety but they’re adorable and I highly recommend looking them up)
1:55 I used a black and white mouse in elementary school the black one was by far my favorite at first but the white was super sweet and the black one refused to interact unless you were feeding him so over time my favorite switched
I think you do the best content for rats... I would like some and I've been researching for days and I usually land on your videos. You mention a lot of things I wouldn't have thought of. I was even wondering about breeds today and then this popped into my feed. I might try to source some Silvermanes if I can... I live in Finland so my options for breeders are probably extremely limited. We seem to have the same taste in rats, except I prefer straight whiskers over the curly whiskers
We actually have a dumbo rat. He was adopted with three others by us almost 2 weeks ago. We called him Merlin. He's so cute. I didn't actually realise he was a dumbo rat until the day after they came home with us. He's grey and white (head is completely grey, body mostly white but with odd grey patches). He's a proper little porker too. You can definitely feel the difference between him and his brothers when you pick them up. Love them all to bits.
I have a Siamese and a topaz colored girls and I LOVE THEEEM. We are planning on adding a Burmese Dumbo eared to the mix, so excited! I would love to get a husky and a silvermane too, but for that I will get a bigger cage when ever that happens! XD (Totally addicted to rats now days, i love them so much!! I enjoy your videos so much Emi!!)
I have 4 Husky rats, theyre currently just about 8 weeks old and LEMME TELL YOU it's so cool watching them grow up and completely change their pattern and color Though they are all the same color and I sometimes have struggles to tell who is who due to that xD
I love your channel so much I am getting rats in five weeks right now they are little pink beans I am getting 3 males 2 dumbos and a fancy I am sooo excited and your channel has helped me figure out if I want rats .😄
I have a Harley Siamese, that was born with a little nub instead of a full tail. Not only did she struggle with skin issues for a bit but she wasn’t very graceful climbing! All is well now !!!
You've put 3 out of 4 of my rats into average category :D I personally love love love albinos, but I think that is somewhat sentimental since my first ever rat - Snowhite was an albino.
My parents bred a double rex rat(her name is remi) and she had some of the strangest babies I had ever seen. One of them named stinky is completely white with a mixture of slightly curvy/wavy, course, and regular fur. The second one Marla is completely brown with a white belly with rex fur patterns. And the last one booger is a rex rat that looks just like the one in the picture. They're all really cool and probably just rex/double rexes with diffrent colors. I love them a lot.
I got lucky enough to get 2 dumbo eared Russian blue boys! Freddie & Deacon. They are honestly my whole life. And so soft!! I previously had a black hooded & pure white. Elvis & Elton. My ultimate dream is a Siamese rat. They are so gorge!
I completely agree with everyone of these!! I don’t know much about different types of rats, my three boys are all black top eared ratties so I don’t have much experience with any other. I’m glad you ranked them in the “I like them” category because I feel like black rats are so undervalued:) great video!
I’ve had every type of pet rattie…and I have to say that I loved them all. I do have an opposite opinion regarding the hairless rats. I’ve had many hairless rats, and only had a problem with one. Her name was Salmus. She was born with a little bit of hair covering her body, but as she grew, her hair went away. She was the MOST amazing little critter. She was so intelligent, friendly, loving, and she had a long great life, living to the age of 2 years and 8 months. About 3 months b4 she passed away she got a mammary tumor. I took her to the vet, to get it removed, but the vet was hesitant bc of her age, saying that she may not survive the surgery. So he suggested that I take her home, and just let her live what life she had left, or he could euthanize her for me.I was devastated😢 Salmus during her life would take care of the other baby rats I had by always nursing them…and she wasn’t even pregnant?! But she always produced milk and would feed the baby rats when the other mothers would reject them. (Just to note …I rescued rats for a period of 5 years, until I could find them GOOD homes, and the ones I could not find homes for I kept, since 2012) I have to say that I prefer the hairless critters. I have never experienced any more health issues from my hairless ratties than from the ones who do have hair. But all of my hairless ratties always has whiskers..some had pink eyes, and some had black eyes. But by far I will say that they all were much warmer body temperature than the others, but other than that, I never had any more health issues than my other ratties. Only Salmus , with her tumor in old age… But I would and have taken pet ratties over any other type of pet.I love all animals and believe they all deserve to be fed, loved, interacted with, and treated as gifts from God and they deserve to be treated as such. We all have our preferences, and I fully understand that. It’s just wonderful that so many people are starting to understand that rats are not these vicious creatures alone with the other bad raps they get…so whatever type of rattie people prefer, I’m ALL FOR IT…as long as they love them and give them the BEST home and LIFE that they deserve ❤️🐀🐁❤️RIP Salmus, Pow, and Mr. Wuby (My Hairless Ratties)
The only one I waited to see where you put was the masked rat haha. They were my passion back before I stopped breeding. Can't wait till i can start again and get my lines back ❤️ So glad to see you putted them in the top category 😃

I was going to say, the rats you’re describing aren’t true hairless. They’re double rexes/patchwork/werewolf variety of “hairless”.
@@snowyowl611 my simease rat has red eyes but she is so sweet and cute
curly whiskers isnt rly an argument since they are almost unuseable for the rat, Rex is also a torture breed just like hairless, and curly whiskers is one of the reasons for it.
Rats are such underrated animals. I'd love to own then some day! It's amazing what emiolgy does for rats !
Also I'm early🥰💖🌺
A rat is a rat, its not a cat, a rat you can pat, and that is that, unless the rat , is the star and all that, of emi's videos!
thanks emi for helping me get my pet rats! my parents werent fond of them at first but after i showed them your rats and how clean they really are, i got them!
Hi! I would like to convince mine aswell, but they also dislike the "cleanliness" point. Is there an specific video on how clean they are? :'c
@@nicoleisabelvillenabustill5770 I am not completely sure, I just showed my parents videos of them grooming themselves, not the best but i also had my aunt on my side, i hope you can get your own ratites!
ratties*
@@nicoleisabelvillenabustill5770 Hey! Did you ever end up getting some?
Im getting rats in 1 week! Im so excited! I've researched for so long and im so excited, to distract myself from waiting, I watch all of your videos over an over again! Im very excited and I love your shirt :).
Also you were talking about a Russian blue Dumbo, thats one of the varieties im getting! His name is Jason :)
Congrats!!! First rats are always exciting :)
Same! I’m getting rats to :) Except I’m not getting a Russian blue dumbo
Theres nothing like getting new rats
I personally love all rats, especially dwarf rats because they are less prone to health issues like cancer and tumors. I love your tier lost grading since you are so respectful for all rats and also because you don’t sort them purely based from their appearance, but based from health issues they are prone to. Keep up the good work! You are doing so well ❤️
2 of my rats are Silvermane (or also called; Silken). They're SO soft, the fur definitely feels different from other breeds. I hope you'll be able to have a Silvermane/Silken one day
I'm so jealous! I'd love to even just meet one in person!
She doesn't have the "typical Silvermane" darker shading on her face, but she has it on a streak on her back instead.
jealous!!!! they are so beautiful 🥺🥺🥺
I breed silvers. My heart just had a litter of 12😉
"That ballsack feeling" 🤣 I've never held a hairless rat, but that is EXACTLY what I'd expect it to feel like 😆
I love your taste in rat breeds, and the "a rat is a rat," and it is SO true.
I love black and white rats, but I agree with the hooded being just too common.
my girls are berkshires. theyre so gorgeous
Don’t mind mejust liking the video immediately so I can watch after I get out of work. 😊🐁🐀
A rat is a rat - Emiology 2021
i had a trio of silvermane dumbo rexes 🥺🥺 my dad used to call them my “three mouseketeers”. i loved them so much. they were SO soft and sweet, my time with them was treasured greatly. their names were nochu, mochi, and piper. they’re definitely my favorite mix of any varieties and i miss them sm!!!
i used to not care for agouti coloured rats when i just saw them in pictures. but THEN i met some agouti rats irl, and turns out they are soooo cute!!! pictures really don't give them justice
Idk what it is but I wouldn’t ever get a dwarf rat because i LOVE holding onto my chunky boys 😂
Fun video! One of my mischiefs includes 3 hooded rats. My little pack of oreos 😅 it was interesting seeing all the different patterns!
Your preferences are almost identical to mine. Only difference is I adore hoodeds. I don't know why, just love. Siamese rex Dumbo is my ideal, though.
Me too, all 4 of my guys are hooded of one kind or another.
Never seen burmese rats before, such a lovely colour 🤎
I think I prefer top eared rats to dumbos (although I ❤ both).
I just feel they're less common now days.
I have a top eared roan and a blue dumbo. Love them so much ❤
Same preference but with bunnies
I've always got roans as I noticed the females have less of a tendency to develop tumors, in my personal experience, in comparison to other breeds. Over the last five years alone of strictly owning roans, only one developed a tumor.
i've had two roans (one male one female) and both developed a tumor... it might just be the roans in your area?
Moose
Dumbo rats are my favourite, them ears 😍 they make my heart melt 💕
I got a silvermane rat by ”accident” and I’m so in love with her! I got a dumbo agouti and after about a week living with her and her fur changing I realized she is a silvermane. She is so lively and energetic❤️❤️
Hey I love your videos!! huge thanks for getting me into rats, soon ill get some of my own!
"ballsack feeling"...OMG, that was hilarious.
Thanks again!
me: aww this will be fun - it's cool to see how people's opinions differ
my heart rate, once badger gets top tier: OH THANK GOD THE STRESS THEY WOULD BE DISRESPECTED
i have two ruby eyed, a siamese and a black rat (he has a little white patch on his tummy) and they are the loves of my life. cant live without them. thankyou for teaching me how to give them the best life i can
I’m getting my rats tomorrow after 6 months of preparation and I’m so excited and so grateful for your advice.
Aww girls or boys?
@@meganhm Two 8 week old girls. One black self standard dumbo and one siamese standard dumbo. The black one is black eyed and called inky and the siamese is red eyed and called bubbles.
@@Daisy-nv7cr I’ve always wanted a Siamese. Bubbles is such a cute name for her ^_^
Please do a mouse version!!!
Yesss
I laughed really hard at the hairless rats being compared to balls 🤣🤣 spot on!
Omg i wish you could see my ADORABLE pumpkin siamese. She is SO daft, that literally my other rat (Sage the husky) will sleep on her, and pumpkin is completely oblivious. It is so cute.
my rats are much happier after watching your vids
you have helped me so much
thankyou so much
I love ur content
I love u
I'm getting two silvermane girls this fall and I'm so excited! They're such a gorgeous variety.
Oh the ball sack feeling comment made me laugh out loud. Never thought of hairless rats as ball sacks.
The first two rats i ever got were both roans, and it was so cool to see how they went from almost full grey to 100% white. Ive mainly only ever had your rat of the mill common rats like Roans and Black fancys, but they make up for that with their personalities, and thats all i need.
I got SO HAPPY when she put the black eyed Siamese rat at the top because I have a 4 week old Siamese and she is the sweetest furball.
I just got a feeder rat that looks just like humbug and he is dumbo. He is a pet don’t worry
they all deserve LOVE LOVE LOVE rank
omggg i have 4 dwarf rats and I love them so much😭❤️ They are SUPER energetic compared to standard ratties and at over 1 year old, they all run all over the place and are crazy little babies🥰
The poor agoutis 🤣
My new favorite are Martin’s! I know these probably got looped in with the red eye rats but I do feel like they’re a little more unique. This was an awesome video I love seeing everyone’s different opinions :)
The mouse cage behind you looks so good!
bit off topic for the video but i discovered something super cool. if you put newspaper (or any paper like thing) rip it up, put it at the bottom, they will bring it to one of thier many beds. This most likely will keep their brains active and my rats personally enjoy having it
my rats love to do that too, also with regular paper and tissues! and if you put a towel on top of their cage, they will try to drag in inside of "fight" with it's flapping sides 😂
really loved this video! definitely agree with a lot of your rankings and points
Hey emiology I LOVE your channel and i have watched the ranking rat video a thousand times your rats are so cute you are so nice I love your channel😍
One of my first rats was a topaz! They are so pretty! Just realised that I think all of the varieties of my first rats are super pretty ^^
I think brown wild rats are the ones that look the prettiest. That being said, wild rats belong in the wild, they're not pets.
I never found hooded, husky or dumbo rats that pretty, but after having adopted and bonded with rats who looked like that, it's impossible not to love all rats that remind me of them
I love Rex rats
I didn't know the term hairless meant without eyelashes or whiskers!
My "hairless" rats have about as much fur as a human in general
I would never want a poor baby who doesn't have whiskers!
"A rat is a rat." Love it
I love roans. Unfortunately, my local breeder's roan line seems to be unreasonably smart so my roommate has called a moratorium.
“I love Siamese rats so much it there was a category above I love they’d be there”
Me: *looks at my Siamese rat Moxie lovingly*
I’m getting two rats next week, one of em is black with white lights the others a black and white rex and I already love them more than life itself
Could you PLEASE PLEASE PLEAAASE make a pt2? I have a Russian blue Berkshire and a Russian blue English Irish. I’d love to see more of this series
Please do this with mice/cats!
We have 6 boys, 5 brothers and one being their cousin.
Tumnus - Black Dumbo (smallest of them all)
Boom - Husky/Badger Dumbo
Bean - Siamese Red Eyed Dumbo (Cream/White w/ dark nose)
Kipling - Siamese Red Eyed Dumbo (he was originally cream with half of his face being white but as he’s gotten older he is now completely white)
Peanut - Black Top Eared
Grinch - Siamese Ruby Eyed Double Rex ( he is the youngest and cousin to the other 5, the fur he has is cream at the moment but turning white as he gets older so he looks naked most of the time)
The 5 brothers are 13 weeks and Grinch is 9 weeks.
I also really like the Giant Cloud Rat (it’s not a domesticated variety but they’re adorable and I highly recommend looking them up)
I cant stop laughing at how she said that hairless rats give her a ballsack feeling ☠️☠️ IM DEAD
I love my hairless rats. They loose their hair and grow it back, they are super sweet and i love them
Those wouldn't be true hairless then, they'd be double rex or patchwork. I totally agree that no matter the variety rats have wonderful personalities!
They sound like double rexes!
A space pod chair (improved bean bag) with waterproof outside might be a fun chair there.
I absolutely adore pink and red eyed rats my dream rat type is a blue ratty with pink/red eye 😍
Love your videos
I have a Siamese and a topaz colored girls and I LOVE THEEEM. We are planning on adding a Burmese Dumbo eared to the mix, so excited! I would love to get a husky and a silvermane too, but for that I will get a bigger cage when ever that happens! XD (Totally addicted to rats now days, i love them so much!! I enjoy your videos so much Emi!!)
I have never had or seen agouti rats and actually really like that they look like wild rats, so I'm finally getting them this year!
I have 4 Husky rats, theyre currently just about 8 weeks old and LEMME TELL YOU
it's so cool watching them grow up and completely change their pattern and color
Though they are all the same color and I sometimes have struggles to tell who is who due to that xD
All is well now !!!
i got my dumbo girls about 2 weeks ago! one is a black hooded rat (bee) and the other (biscuit) is a full golden color with red eyes!
You've put 3 out of 4 of my rats into average category :D I personally love love love albinos, but I think that is somewhat sentimental since my first ever rat - Snowhite was an albino.
I got the cutest rat from my breeder last month...he's a curly haired dumbo dwarf who's gray and white...adorable.
Loved this! ANd your shirt is so cute where did you get it?
A good way to get the skrunklyness of hairless without the lack of whiskers is double rex rats! They are kinda bald sometimes and very cute
I love them a lot.
got a 3 fancy rats i love them
When I got my rat, he was white with a tan hood. The tan completely molted away and now he has a brown nose marking. I think he's a Himalayan
I love the dumbos!
I got lucky enough to get 2 dumbo eared Russian blue boys! Freddie & Deacon. They are honestly my whole life. And so soft!! I previously had a black hooded & pure white. Elvis & Elton. My ultimate dream is a Siamese rat. They are so gorge!
my first rat ever was a hooded rat!! it was love at first sight 🥰
I completely agree with everyone of these!! I don’t know much about different types of rats, my three boys are all black top eared ratties so I don’t have much experience with any other. I’m glad you ranked them in the “I like them” category because I feel like black rats are so undervalued:) great video!
i have a husky rat and he went completely white except for a spot around his eye. he looks so cool
I do love blue coloured rats, love a Berkshire pattern, and also adore Dumbos. I would love a silvermane. So beautiful.
I'm so sad hairless rats have health issues, I think they are the cutest things ToT
So he suggested that I take her home, and just let her live what life she had left, or he could euthanize her for me.I was devastated😢
Salmus during her life would take care of the other baby rats I had by always nursing them…and she wasn’t even pregnant?! But she always produced milk and would feed the baby rats when the other mothers would reject them. (Just to note …I rescued rats for a period of 5 years, until I could find them GOOD homes, and the ones I could not find homes for I kept, since 2012)
I have to say that I prefer the hairless critters. Only Salmus , with her tumor in old age…
But I would and have taken pet ratties over any other type of pet.I love all animals and believe they all deserve to be fed, loved, interacted with, and treated as gifts from God and they deserve to be treated as such.
Wuby
(My Hairless Ratties)
The only one I waited to see where you put was the masked rat haha. They were my passion back before I stopped breeding. Can't wait till i can start again and get my lines back ❤️ So glad to see you putted them in the top category 😃
i bet you would love my little Matt, he’s has the siamese coloring plus hes a dumbo
You're just so nice. So shiny. A kind soul. I love that you try so hard.
