As a bird owner, i totally respect your opinion! Birds need toys, natural perches, treats, food, big cages, vet visits, etc. They are also sensitive! I own 5 birds and its a lot of work, so i understand ❤
Thank you!! I think they can be wonderful for the right owner and I love watching videos of them getting the proper care 🥰 I remember hearing they're very sensitive I think somewhere I read said you shouldn't have any telfon cook wear if you own them! 😮
Also i feel that birds are not for someone who is barely at home. They are for people who spend most time at home and have time and energy for birds. I have just one bird for now and it is definitely a lot of dedication and sacrifice! PS. And yes they are loud and this is soemthing that is not easy to get used to 😂
Victoria has never been more right then about what she said about owning a dog! I am so glad to see when people like Victoria do true research about the animals. They are getting to make sure they are compatible with their lives so that they can give the animal the best life possible. It is so responsible! I love your videos Victoria and your content is so fun to watch!
Thank you!! I think my opinions have changed so much in the last couple of years about dogs, because a lot of my friends are training for service/assistance dogs so I see the research and care they put into them, like I had no clue before about all of the enrichment dogs require!
1:20 “a bit more destructive” gerbils are like hamsters on crack multiplied because theyre social. my past hamsters always left their enclosure nice and neat and my current gerbils have destroyed everything in their enclosure that isn’t ceramic 😭
I'd love gerbils but I have supplies going back five hamsters that are so sentimental and they would destroy it all in twenty minutes. My sister had one once... the destruction is insane.
As an owner to most of these animals, they are all a lot of work. Guinea pigs have such unique personalities and some are loud and some aren’t. My group of 4 in my room is much quieter than my sisters. Guinea pigs to me are little rabbits or extremely small cats. Guinea pigs have helped me so much throughout my life as I’ve owned them for 11 years. I love seeing other people rank pets and getting their opinion. I find it so interesting on what people would want to own or would absolutely never own. But I think most people say things because they have no idea what these animals need. But you explained each animal really well. Fish are pretty neglected and it hurts. They are not easy like you said and I don’t know why people normalize having a fish in a bowl or tank and not knowing anything. It really does kill me. But I don’t have an issue with trying to help them. That’s why my channel and all my social medias are here for. To help and educate others because there are so many animals that require so much more.
I also really like hearing people's opinions on what pet suits their lifestyle! I think when it comes to fish its the cheap price of them and how so many just think they have no feelings :( they think of them as disposable like many people think of hamsters.
Probably why we’re best friends 🤣🤣 we get to enjoy and hear about each other’s different species, their problems and cuteness without actually having to own them!
0:33 You don't have to explain yourself really! You are the person responsible when you get them so it's of course completely your choice if you would want them or for whatever reason wouldn't want to own them
I have 2 Guinea pigs and they are a LOT of work and you have to absolutely love them if you are going to own them. I’m still undecided on whether I will get more in the future but ill definitely love them and enjoy them while I have them❤
I’m the same with hamsters I just got my first one in 20 years 6 months ago and I love her but I defiantly wasn’t fully prepared to not ever really get to hang out with her. I work from 3pm to midnight and even when I get home she’s still sleeping I see and hold her twice a week max😂
Degus are such interesting animals i once got to hold one in a local pet store and all seven sat on my head so cute but I don’t have the space so we’re keeping hamsters
I have a hedgehog, and yes they definitely do collect a lot of poop on their paws, and at the moment he does not enjoy lots of human interaction, you were definitely right about that. Thanks for this video❤
Same I started fish keeping January 2023 and started with a 10 gallon with 2 guppies a year later I had 4 tanks with multiple different fish now 1 1/2 years later I only have one fish tank with an Oscar and that’s all I’ll ever own😂
1 minute ago let’s goooo! I’m excited for this video :D Edit: as someone who owned guinea pigs in the past, the washer was on EVERY DAY to clean the fleece bedding. Although, their squeaks of joy when they heard the fridge open always made my day, and I would love to own guinea pigs again in the future
You're so kind... "gerbils are a bit more destructive". They are SO incredibly destructive. Never again. Mine also declanned, which was stressful to me and the gerbils.
LOL I'm so glad hedgehog owners agree, I was worried maybe I was wrong about the poop boots but it's something very specific I remember someone talking about with them 🤣
heyo, this is random ,but after about 4-5 years of watching your channel I finally got my hamster 5 days ago and already made quite a progress when it comes to taming and bonding with my boy, thanks to you he lives in a 120cm by 60cm diy enclosure and I am super thankful❤
oh my gosh congrats!! 🥳 That must feeling so so excited after waiting that long! And also super exciting to be making progress in bonding with him!! ❤️
Chinchillas aren’t as difficult as you think!! Once you have all of the supplies they are so easy to care for. I have 2 and they are SO entertaining and fun, and they can live 15-20 years!!!
I think the 20 year lifespan is a bit tooooo long for me 🫣 Just seems like a very very long commitment compared to many of the other rodents! The sweet spot of 5-10 is doable for me haha
@@VictoriaRaechel I totally get that haha it’s a big commitment! I’m tragically allergic to cats and dogs so chins are one of the only pets I can have that lives a long life like that. My 2 boys behave a lot like dogs or cats but more lowkey lol, they’re the best ❤️ not for everyone though of course
I used to babysit for a family with chinchillas, the mom told me to watch out for the chinchillas overheating and if they start to I would have to pop them in the freezer to cool them down (with the door open and me standing there to make sure they are safe of course) but I was like omg 😳
im so excited to see ferrets in the s tier! i grew up around pet ferrets up until a couple years ago (my mom always owned ferrets) and ive always loved them! our ferrets were really good around our cats and just so playful and cute. she treated them with such care and i've learned so much facts and research from her when it comes to ferrets! ive seen so many different kinds of ferrets too because of it! anyways yeah, im here to vouch for the idea of ferrets, loved the video as always!
Aw that is so sweet! I remember when I was very young going to a house with ferrets and they had stolen my flip flops and hid them in the couch haha but since then I haven't had any chances to interact with any :(
I really agree with your statement on Guinea pig! My piggie uses SO MUCH bedding but remember you can always use wood chips like me :) It gives them more of a natural environment. But of course they are not everyone’s cup of tea 🤍✨
knowing both degus and chinchillas i'd say they are the same in the way you'd take care of them, neither of them have sweat glands and both are herbivores who love bathing in sand and climbing ♡♡♡
I’m a chinchilla owner and let me tell you these pets are not super difficult to take care of but they are super sensitive! Sounds, Temperatures, and even certain spaces. I left my chinchilla in the living room instead of my room and it stressed her out so badly that she almost passed away from stress but we caught it early.
I really like this video because i feel like everyone expects victoria to own animals they want her to own forgetting she’s a human being with a life meaning she’s not going to/want to own every single pet just because people on the internet tell her to! ❤❤
I love rabbits. I have a brown and white one named Woody. And a grayish one named Zoomer. I love baby bunnies. Woody had babies. That’s when Zoomer was born.
As a gerbil owner I totally respect your opinion!! But if you provide them with the correct amount of enrichment they won’t be as destructive. Also, bonding shouldn’t be such a big deal with gerbils, because you could get three and then if one dies they will still have each other. But I respect your opinion and I really love your videos!❤
Oh I wouldn't mind the destructiveness haha I was just comparing them to hamsters! Though for the bonding, eventually you will get down to just one, and if you ever want to stop owning them you'll have to rehome them which I hate to think about! 🥲
as someone who has a bunny and 3 budgies i think birds are one of the easiest pets in the word but bunnies are also easy but not as easy as birds BUT bunnies are like easy mini dogs they are super fun to have and most buns are loving to their owner which is super cute when they lick you,rub their chin on you, run around you, and lay down next to you! ( also my birds are 99% quiet the entire day except for the first hour of the morning so like 7-8 o clock so If you are worried about the noise just know they scream in the morning but the rest of the day they are probably just as loud cats!
12:12 guinea pigs arent actually very loud! They can associate sound with stuff (like my guinea pigs week to the sound of packets and the fridge door😅) and they only week if they hear a certain sound thats related to treats!😂 i do respect ur opinion, i was just making a point bc i have 2 guinea pigs :)
Hi victoria! i’m sure you don’t remember me but you helped me start my hamster obsession and helped me make the perfect life for my hamster. this has been hard to talk about but i got my hamster in july of last year and he sadly past away last night. thank you SO MUCH for the life you provided him he was happy and always was running around ready to play! thank you so much for everything thing!! rip bear.
I have a ball python, and let me just say you did this video so nicely and your opinion is 100% valid! Reptiles are a lot of work and can be very expensive plus their not for everyone I totally understand people can get creeped out. Great video 😊
I love Guinea pigs, they live for a while and have a lot of personality. I can say as a former owner of a Guinea pig they can be very loud and pee a lot. I would get two or three if I had more space than I do now. A common mistake is solo housing Guinea pigs, they are the opposite of hamsters in terms of how social they are.
As someone who lives in a country that is very, very mean to dogs, I can confirm that keeping dogs are a lot of work, even if I’m choosing the most maintenance breed. Also, I have a friend who lives in Florida and she is constantly rescuing all the old rats and spending tons of money in their healthcare and when one dies, she have to adopt another because they they are social creatures. Me myself although I don’t like cats that much I probably choose cats more than anything if I can only have one animal because they are like the best pet you can own. Or probably birds.
I’ve worked with many kinds of animals, including a few guinea pigs. I can definitely say I’ll never own them again! They were very cute and fun to interact with, but cleaning up after them was extremely draining. On the other hand, I own two ferrets, and I both have more fun with them AND have an easier time cleaning up after them. I really love them and definitely would consider getting more in the future. If you end up with some ferrets I know they will have amazing lives with you, I just hope yours are better about using the litterbox than mine are! I’m a reptile guy at heart. To me the appeal of reptiles is very much like the appeal of fish. I enjoy setting up naturalistic environments for them and watching them go about their days. My reptiles are much less delicate than my fish, but they are also less active, so there are pros and cons to either. Unfortunately many reptiles end up in neglectful situations just like fish, because they seem so easy to care for that people are willing to buy them on impulse. Very sad.
When I was 15 my list would have probably looked fairly similar to yours. 10 years later, and reptiles are up top too. A lot of people really don't understand how much care smaller pets can actually need. Also you could get a male mouse and not have to be concerned about bonding. I believe male mice don't get along too well with each other, I know females are always social though.
i am with you on the vast majority of all of these. there are some species i really love, but often times there is just a major deal breaker (like hedgehog poop boots and guinea pigs being a lot of laundry). I do think you'd really enjoy duprasi though. I don't consider them a social species of gerbil, they're more like hamsters just friendlier imho. and they don't really burrow much (just dig), certainlly not as much as mongolian gerbils. they're just very chill and sometimes active during the day, which is nice and you didn't mention these species specifically, but you may enjoy African pygmy dormice (APD) or Spiny Mice. APD are very fun, less like mice and more like tiny squirrels, and they're social, but they live quite a bit longer than mice (about 4-6 years). They're also arboreal, which is so much fun to watch. They're a bit like keeping very active and social reptiles, like emerlad tree skinks or green keel-bellied lizards. Spiny Mice are a bit more like traditional mice, but they do live longer (3-5 years) usually need some supplemental heating. Tenrecs may appeal to you as well if you ever want a pet that looks like a hedgehog, but doesn't have poop boots. they go through a period of torpor, which is weird, but other than that, appeal to me much more than hedgehogs
I have a pair of gerbils currently but I’ve owned many in the past and I completely respect your opinion. While they make amazing pets and (From my experience) are easier to tame then hamsters, the constant worry over bonding is very stressful and I can completely understand why it would put anyone off of owning them; their destructive nature is quite costly so that’s another factor that makes them not so good pets to own. Overall I really respect your decision and how much thought you put into even the pets you don’t want to own
i liked this video a lot!! it was very interesting to see your take on all these animals! very enjoyable! omg I laughed a little when you said gerbils are a bit more destructive than hamsters, I was like "just a bit?" my gerbils destroy everything I give them in like ten minutes lollllll
Gerbils are so cute but I prefer hamsters cause they’re not social it’s just difficult with social animals cause you can never stop owning them (ethically) you need to either keep getting them or rehome them and bonding is such a stressful and just sad
Hello Victoria! I’ve been a big fan of you, not just because you are a great hamster informant but because of how much ethical care you want to give to the animals! It made me think how much more thought I could put into the animals that I have and will have, and I think that is the core value of your channel. I hope you can expand your channel, more than just hamsters, also about your cats, shrimps and plants as well! It would be amazing to have separate video compilations like “Cat ethical care”, “rabbit ethical care” etc. thank you for your dedication and as still can’t believe there are 12 years worth of hamster ethical care here. And also ethical care of yourself too! Love yourself more and let us know your journey of taking care of yourself! It’s easy to get drained as a pet owner cuz it can easily feel you are not doing enough for them. You are amazing!
Thank you so much! ❤️ I'm so glad I've been able to do that for you! I definitely am working on my journey of loving and taking better care of myself 🫶🏼
hey victoria. i woke up this morning to my hamster, guss, dead. i miss him sm. i actually just found out a few minutes ago. and i knew to come to you. thank you for making me feel better. i will get another fur baby soon 🤞
I love guinea pig videos, I get you girl!! Though the thought of the maintenance and they have to be in herds and they're so LOUD I wouldn't be able to tolerate it. I love my piece and quiet, if the noise was rare or sporadic I could probably handle it better
Great video Victoria!! I own hamsters and a rabbit but one day want to get a second bunny! Also I wanted guinea pigs for a while but after seeing how much cleaning and money would have to go into it (laundry too) I decided to put that on hold and think I’m just sticking to the animals I own lol! Ferrets are super cool and I think you would be a great owner! I don’t think I personally would ever own them for a few specific reasons but I could definitely see you owning them and enjoying them a lot! Ik things change but I hope you keep owning hamsters for a long time! I love watching your hamster content and really enjoy seeing all your new hammies! I’ve been watching your channel since Mable, Waddles, and Dipper (rip) and I really have enjoyed getting to know your new hamsters thro your videos! And hope to keep getting to know Penny, Nickel, and Loonie all the same! And future additions ofc! Sending love 💗
As a person with a reptile (bearded dragon) I 100% respect your opinion I have beaded dragon and let it run around my room bc I have a clean room and can spot were she is very easily and TAKW it out side and let it sit on my arm and enjoy the sun. And they aren’t fuzzy and soft like you said. They also include a lot of feeding. I feed her 3 times a day and 20 alive, crickets per feeding session they are a lot of work and mine does not really like to cuddle. But she likes to lay next to me ok my bed and she LOVES to look outside! I respect you opinion ! ❤❤❤❤
Suprised to hear you wouldn't like guinea pigs. I've been considering them as they are playful and friendly and best thing is you can get 2 which play together when you're out unlike hamsters. And you can get/build outdoor play pens for them in warmer seasons and they can cut the grass for you! 😅 Is the amount of wee and noise really that much of a turn off? I wouldn't keep them in my bedroom, in other rooms the noise should be fine if its not somewhere to study/work in.
I would love to get a snake, I find them fun and very interesting but I understand it’s not for everyone, when I tell my friend they either agree or look at me like I’m crazy
Gerbils are SO FUN!!! They are 1000x more destructive than hamsters 😂 You also cannot have any part of the enclosure made of wood or they’ll chew right through. When I owned them, I didn’t know any better & they were in a 10 gal tank w a topper 😢 I don’t own any anymore bc I have back issues & cannot lift a 40 gal + tank. I really miss having them. I won’t own mice anymore bc I had a group of 4 & all of them got tea bad health issues. It was SUPER traumatic for me & my daughter. In my current apartment, bunnies are a no bc they need SO MUCH more room than guinea pigs. We really can’t see you owning guinea pigs 😂 They need a lot more veggies than rabbits, they don’t really litter train & yeah, like you said, A LOT of laundry! 🧺
I love that you are so real with your reasons on why you wouldn't own guinea pigs! But it's super awesome that you admit to watching other guinea pig content creators and note on how high maintenance the species really are. They are also very social animals and so it wouldn't meet your criteria of solitary preferred species. As someone who owns 13 guinea pigs currently yes, it's a lot of laundry to do if choosing fleece lining as the substrate however, some people can get away with only doing the guinea pig laundry once a week. I personally choose to do laundry daily so that the smell of the ammonia does not build up within my home.
You know its getting serious when the camera slowly zooms in 😅 Loved this video Victoria! I really hope you get ferrets!! Their so adorable and funny pets 💓
As someone who has owned both hamsters and gerbils, I can definitely say that other than their living area they are not alike at all. Gerbils are very confident and curious so will interact with you more, but they don't like being handled, plus they are too quick moving to handle, I used a coconut house to pick them up, which they gladly jumped into because they want to know what you're doing. They are also awake most of the day (and night), if you are doing something near them they will get up to see what you're doing. They are also very comical and mischievous, and very very intelligent. They are very destructive and will chew anything, it also costs a lot in chew toys because they destroy them in minutes, sometimes seconds. You need to put a couple of new chew toys into their cage everyday, because they are so active they get bored easily so need a lot of stimulation. I used to change their tank around all the time so they had new areas to explore which they would get really overexcited about lol. They smell a lot less than any other rodent pets which was a plus for me as they were in the main living area, as long as you keep their tank clean they don't smell at all. They don't seem to have many health issues in my experience until they reach the end of their lives, and in general they live up to a year longer than hamsters. A downside is that they like to live in twos or more, but my old gerbil lived happily alone for over a year after her sister died, and that is because I interacted with her all day long and we had a very strong bond. It is doable if you are at home to give the remaining gerbil lots of attention. They need a wheel in their cage because they are on it all the time, because of how much energy they have, you may even go through quite a few wheels because of how much bettering they take. For reasons mentioned above gerbils cost a lot more money to keep than hamsters, but in my opinion they are worth it because they are the most loving, comical, friendly, little scamps that you could encounter, and I miss mine very much ❤️. I miss my beautiful hamsters very much too, it is just a very different experience between only the two ❤️
Super looking forward to a day where you may have ferrets! There is definitely a lack of ferret PetTubers who are currently posting consistently. Regardless, always enjoying your content, ferrets or not ☺️
I have owned a ton of animals. Birds, lizards, dogs, cats, chickens, a horse, hamsters, rabbits, etc. FERRETS are BY FAR the funniest creatures I have ever owned. They are so fun to play with, they are more hilarious than I could ever explain, and they CUDDLE TOO!The main downside for me is that, at least in the U.S., there really aren’t easily available premade foods that are good quality. You would ideally need to do a ton of research and make your own, but that isn’t easy or cheap (it’s also very smelly). I know you have experience with making your own food based on nutritional needs though, so if that’s the route you go, I’m sure you’d feed them great food! (Oh- the smell they have is definitely something to get used to though by the way). Love your videos!
Your reasoning is the exact reason I decided against mice and rats. I have always wanted them but once I started researching them i realized it wouldnt be a good fit for me.
I laughed when you talked about guinea pigs! 😂 I have a herd of four, and yes! They pee everywhere!!! I love them, but they are not for everyone. They are more work then any animal I've had besides a horse. I love them so much, and will probably always have them, but I caution people and getting them. They need a lot of things. So I totally get why you wouldn't want them. I also agree with you on fish. They are way more work then you would think.
After hearing your opinions about rats and mice i was surprised to see ferrets make the list considering they also need bonding every 2-3 years (at least north American rescues due to inbreeding in mills) so their pros must outweigh the cons for you they really are such amazing animals and are towards the top of my own list beaten only by hermit crabs
Aww on Instagram i follow quite alot of ferret accounts and i always see you like a video! I guessed you have grown a soft spot for them and i am so happy ! They are amazing🙌
I actually have sugar gliders and agree they are very exotic like you are always learning about them they are really cool little animals and have very unique diets . They take a lot of research but they are super cool and fun !!
I love my guinea pigs but they are definitely a lot of work! I'm happy to have them now and maybe in the future again potentially, but I would want to take breaks I think. I'd love to adopt or foster rabbits at some point. Cats are my favourite though!
I LOVE ferrets!! I could totally see you have one! Just make sure that they aren’t near your buns and can’t get to them as they are obligated carnivorous! But they are so cute and I think you would like them!!💕
I have owned chinchillas they need big cages. And alot of room. And grils are more sassy then boys. When we had chinchillas there names were chi chi and latte! There super cute thought.
I love birds! 😭😭 I had a green cheek conure growing up and I loved her and now I have a cat as an adult and I just couldn't put my cat and future bird through that stress of being predator and prey in the same house. I'd need a separate bird room just so I'd feel comfortable my bird would be safe
You are already so kind to the animals you do have so I don’t have any problems with ones you don’t wish to own…..you are a wonderful young lady….and again I learned something from your vid…. Never knew about Degus….long life I’m probably in one day researching now….😊❤ Thanks for sharing such great loving educational and interesting content❤❤❤😊😊😊
Aw thank you! If you want to see more of degus I love the instagram instagram.com/themouseroom?igsh=cHZkNXpmbG43dGxk They post a lot about them in their stories ❤️
With the mice, I agree. it's stressful making sure they always have a companion or 2! Until your mouse murders every mouse she is housed with, then you don't have to worry 🤣
Awe you missed out on prairie dogs! But I’m assuming you can’t because of your location? I had 2 a long time ago and they were so adorable and cuddly and funny 🥰
I have had gerbils, guinea pigs, rabbits, degu’s, hamsters, chinchilla’s, fish, mice , cats, dog and rats. Also babysit few times on ferrets. Atm still have bunnies, a hamster and 2 cats what i wouldnt want to own anymore is ferrets ,rats and chinchilla.
Thank you! As of 2024 I wouldn't recommend it as there are many other mixes now that are better such as bunny nature expert food, crazy critter toys Brie's blend and dwarf blend food, robins gourmet food on etsy and even NiteAngel's newest food (even though the protein is on the lower side, so it likely would be better for older syrian hamsters).
I agree with you, guinea pigs are definitely not your style, they poop a lot, and are quite noisy. Btw, I will wait until you have 4 cats and a ferret in your channel 😂
My hamster turned two this year in May, we're already about halfway to her next birthday. She'll turn 3!! She's super healthy, and I feel like she might make it to 4. Anything can happen, however.
We have 3 ferrets and have had them for about 4 years. If you have any questions, I’d be more than happy to answer as many as you have! Rehoming them has honestly crossed our minds lately. They’re so sweet, but poop so much and are very smelly. We also have 20 chickens and 20 or so other pets, so we don’t have a lot of time for them and they aren’t getting as much attention as we’d like, and as much as they should be 😔
Hey victoria, I wanted to ask if you would consider filming a video where you recreate pinterest inspired hamater inclosures, obviously only if they are propperly built but I think that would be pretty cool
I also looked into guinea pigs before owning hamsters and your reasons for not wanting guinea pigs are exactly the same as mine. It was cool to get to know you a bit better through this tier list and in the end it's always personal choice wanting to own or not own a species. You don't need to justify
Hi Victoria, I've had dogs and guinea pigs and my dog would bark alot and it was very loud and annoying. The guinea pigs would only squeak once ot twice a day around their feed time just to remind me which I found was cute
I totally agree with you! I love all animals but I could take care of them all. I love watching them in videos. That's not hard.😂The hamster is the easiest for me.❤🐾🐾
Of course!! 🥰 I would hate to bring home a pet I have no clue about and unintentionally do something wrong with their care or become stressed because they don't fit my lifestyle because I decided to not look into them enough!

14:38 I agree! When i decided to get a fish I was doing some research and couldnt believe how much more there was to them than just a fishbowl
I’m excited for this video :D
Edit: as someone who owned guinea pigs in the past, the washer was on EVERY DAY to clean the fleece bedding. Although, their squeaks of joy when they heard the fridge open always made my day, and I would love to own guinea pigs again in the future
Yay 🥳🥳🥳
Yes my washer is never off 😭😭
@@autumngrace. omg autumn?? I luv your vids :)
You're so kind... "gerbils are a bit more destructive". They are SO incredibly destructive. Never again. Mine also declanned, which was stressful to me and the gerbils.
As someone who owns a hedgehog I can confirm the ‘poop boots’ are a TASK i totally agree with what you said 😂
LOL I'm so glad hedgehog owners agree, I was worried maybe I was wrong about the poop boots but it's something very specific I remember someone talking about with them 🤣
My hamster recently passed and i dont plan on getting another one, but i still really enjoy watching your videos ❤
I'm sorry for your loss ❤️
💗@@VictoriaRaechel
heyo, this is random ,but after about 4-5 years of watching your channel I finally got my hamster 5 days ago and already made quite a progress when it comes to taming and bonding with my boy, thanks to you he lives in a 120cm by 60cm diy enclosure and I am super thankful❤
oh my gosh congrats!! 🥳 That must feeling so so excited after waiting that long! And also super exciting to be making progress in bonding with him!! ❤️
@@VictoriaRaechel yess,it iss,i just love my boy smm,thank you❤️
You should do a video rating your old hamster care/ cages!!
Chinchillas aren’t as difficult as you think!! Once you have all of the supplies they are so easy to care for. I have 2 and they are SO entertaining and fun, and they can live 15-20 years!!!
They also don’t stink, even a dirty cage doesn’t smell compared to a ferret’s
My piggie uses SO MUCH bedding but remember you can always use wood chips like me :)
It gives them more of a natural environment.
But of course they are not everyone’s cup of tea 🤍✨
The rat and mice one is so relatable I want them so badly but can’t keep bonding every couple years 🥲
it stresses me out thinking about it 😭
knowing both degus and chinchillas i'd say they are the same in the way you'd take care of them, neither of them have sweat glands and both are herbivores who love bathing in sand and climbing ♡♡♡
Chinchillas are also social* and don't do well by themselves.
I think @youreinvalid8493 meant to write social not solitary 🙈
@@VictoriaRaechel I did! Sorry and thank you!!
@@VictoriaRaechel ya I totally get it. It can be really stressful at times, so no worries ❤.
I’m a rabbit person. Guinea pigs are cute. Cats and dogs are great. I had a Shih-Tzu I named it Buster but we had to rehome it during hurricane Irma.
As a chinchilla owner, they poop like 250 times in a day, and if you dont clean, it will be so hard to clean, and they do a lot of mess😅
oh no 🤣 do their poops look more like guinea pigs or rabbits?
@@VictoriaRaechelis more like Guinea pigs poop just smaller😅
You’re a comfort youtuber
🥺🥺 ah thank you!
Thank you for mentioning that dogs require lots of enrichment and time spent with the owners (playtime, training, sniff walks in the nature etc) ❤
You should make a list of the pets that are more commonly more neglected, so you can bring awareness. I love your videos 🥰
You have such a good heart. Always thinking and giving them the best. Hoping there are a lot out there like you.
Thank you 🥹
as someone who has a bunny and 3 budgies i think birds are one of the easiest pets in the word but bunnies are also easy but not as easy as birds BUT bunnies are like easy mini dogs they are super fun to have and most buns are loving to their owner which is super cute when they lick you,rub their chin on you, run around you, and lay down next to you!
Hi victoria! i’m sure you don’t remember me but you helped me start my hamster obsession and helped me make the perfect life for my hamster. this has been hard to talk about but i got my hamster in july of last year and he sadly past away last night. thank you SO MUCH for the life you provided him he was happy and always was running around ready to play! thank you so much for everything thing!! rip bear.
Rip bear 😢😢😢😢😢😢 my hamsters name is Bear ❤❤❤

@@VictoriaRaechelthank you ❤️
I have a ball python, and let me just say you did this video so nicely and your opinion is 100% valid! Reptiles are a lot of work and can be very expensive plus their not for everyone I totally understand people can get creeped out. Great video 😊
Thank you!!! I don't even find them creepy, I love watching them do their own thing!!
I love Guinea pigs, they live for a while and have a lot of personality. I can say as a former owner of a Guinea pig they can be very loud and pee a lot. I would get two or three if I had more space than I do now. A common mistake is solo housing Guinea pigs, they are the opposite of hamsters in terms of how social they are.
i read somewhere that if you love dogs, you love people. if you love cats, you love animals.
I used to own a ferret. They are very playful and smart. The cons are that you have to bathe them because they have a smelly odor
Male mice are actually also very social! They just need to be neutered to safely be co-habbed! 😄
You don't know how long i've been waiting for this video!! I love it so much. Thanks for the great content usual. God bless❤❤
I hope you enjoyed it!! ❤️
i am with you on the vast majority of all of these. there are some species i really love, but often times there is just a major deal breaker (like hedgehog poop boots and guinea pigs being a lot of laundry). I do think you'd really enjoy duprasi though. I don't consider them a social species of gerbil, they're more like hamsters just friendlier imho. and they don't really burrow much (just dig), certainlly not as much as mongolian gerbils. they're just very chill and sometimes active during the day, which is nice
and you didn't mention these species specifically, but you may enjoy African pygmy dormice (APD) or Spiny Mice.
I love your channel, your content, greetings from Chile ❤❤❤
It’s always a good day when I get off school and you posted ❤
Yay!! 🎉
Overall I really respect your decision and how much thought you put into even the pets you don’t want to own
I can totally see Victoria becoming a not so crazy cat lady when she’s old 😂
I'll also be crazy so it'll work 🤣
Thanks for your thoughts Victoria, I’ve always wondered what animals you like and don’t like
i liked this video a lot!! it was very interesting to see your take on all these animals! very enjoyable! omg I laughed a little when you said gerbils are a bit more destructive than hamsters, I was like "just a bit?" my gerbils destroy everything I give them in like ten minutes lollllll
This is my brother:HAMSTER is the best
I'm so sorry for your loss 🥺
I love guinea pig videos, I get you girl!! Though the thought of the maintenance and they have to be in herds and they're so LOUD I wouldn't be able to tolerate it. I love my piece and quiet, if the noise was rare or sporadic I could probably handle it better
Wonderful video! This is so fun! Classic tier ranking of pets. Lol! You're being so fun now and I love it. Thank you!
Thank you! 😄
I agree with you. Mainly the fish because I own some myself and they are a lot of work. I still love them tho!!
Love that you know & respect your boundaries ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you 🫶🏼 Setting boundaries is an act of self love ❤️
this is a great video!!! Thanks Victoria!
Thanks for watching Christina!
Thank you!! It's very nice to be able to enjoy watching others care for them from afar!
Guinea pig owner here-the amount of laundry my mum and I do for them is insane!
You know its getting serious when the camera slowly zooms in 😅
Loved this video Victoria! I really hope you get ferrets!! Their so adorable and funny pets 💓
🤣 Thank you!
I miss my beautiful hamsters very much too, it is just a very different experience between only the two ❤️
I think the quick to moving and difficulty to handle is what has held me back from being interested in them!
Super looking forward to a day where you may have ferrets! There is definitely a lack of ferret PetTubers who are currently posting consistently. Regardless, always enjoying your content, ferrets or not ☺️
Aw thank you haha! I'm looking forward to that day too!
Love your videos

OMG yay you posted!!! Thanks so much for the video!🥰
Thanks for watching!
I agree with you! Hamsters 🐹 & cats are always at the top!
8:18 yes ferrets are the best!
I have 2 from work (I work at an animal sanctuary) they are so funny and have such good personality.
Aw! 💞
Hey there Victoria I have subscribed to you and my sister has a dwarf hamster called poppy and we both love your videos ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for subscribing 🥰!!
I am going based on our ferret association of 5-7 years, many have even had ferrets who lived to 8 🥰
Aww on Instagram i follow quite alot of ferret accounts and i always see you like a video! I guessed you have grown a soft spot for them and i am so happy ! They are amazing🙌
I have a gsd and absolutely adore him, but he’s SOOOOO much work. owning a dog is a huge responsibility. I don’t know if I’d get one again😭
Fostering is a great way to see if they'll make a good match for you! and if you really love them you can just adopt them 🥰
I LOVE ferrets!! I could totally see you have one! Just make sure that they aren’t near your buns and can’t get to them as they are obligated carnivorous! But they are so cute and I think you would like them!!💕
i own a reptile a urtle his name is moon he is about 2 or 3 years now and i love how you take good care of your pets and know so much
I have owned chinchillas they need big cages. And alot of room. And grils are more sassy then boys. When we had chinchillas there names were chi chi and latte! There super cute thought.

@@VictoriaRaechel my exact thoughts 😂
I love birds! 😭😭 I had a green cheek conure growing up and I loved her and now I have a cat as an adult and I just couldn't put my cat and future bird through that stress of being predator and prey in the same house. I'd need a separate bird room just so I'd feel comfortable my bird would be safe
You are already so kind to the animals you do have so I don’t have any problems with ones you don’t wish to own…..you are a wonderful young lady….and again I learned something from your vid….

With the mice, I agree. it's stressful making sure they always have a companion or 2! Until your mouse murders every mouse she is housed with, then you don't have to worry 🤣
Oh no 🙈
@@VictoriaRaechel Ya........I quit trying 😆
Awe you missed out on prairie dogs! But I’m assuming you can’t because of your location? I had 2 a long time ago and they were so adorable and cuddly and funny 🥰
Noo they're illegal!
I have had gerbils, guinea pigs, rabbits, degu’s, hamsters, chinchilla’s, fish, mice , cats, dog and rats. Also babysit few times on ferrets.
Atm still have bunnies, a hamster and 2 cats
what i wouldnt want to own anymore is ferrets ,rats and chinchilla.
Love your videos ❤ also I’ve been wondering is sunburst seed mix good food for my hamster? Thanks ☺️
Hahaha hopefully one day 🤞🏻
My hamster turned two this year in May, we're already about halfway to her next birthday. She'll turn 3!! She's super healthy, and I feel like she might make it to 4. Anything can happen, however.
Aw that's so wonderful!
It would be on the harder side as all my enclosures are set up already.
I also looked into guinea pigs before owning hamsters and your reasons for not wanting guinea pigs are exactly the same as mine.
It was cool to get to know you a bit better through this tier list and in the end it's always personal choice wanting to own or not own a species. You don't need to justify
Thank you!!
That's not hard.😂The hamster is the easiest for me.❤🐾🐾
I love that you research animals before deciding to have them as a pet. I do same. That's what responsible pet owners do. 😊
Of course!! 🥰 I would hate to bring home a pet I have no clue about and unintentionally do something wrong with their care or become stressed because they don't fit my lifestyle because I decided to not look into them enough!
