I’m so glad I got to be there in person to hear your performance Nate. You did an amazing job of it and really made the action in the movie come to life. Looking forward to your next project!
A great performance and well worth the wait! The only hiccups I could see were the result of having to overlay a 21st century technology onto an early 20th century instrument. Your recovery was very professional and the crowd was with you the whole way. I would imagine when that film was first exhibited, the Fotoplayer operator, instead of being plagued with UA-cam commercials, had to deal with frequent film breaks common to that old celluloid film stock. Nice selection of music for the various scenes and a great job of adding the sound effects.
That was AMAZING!!! Can't wait to see more of your work. I've always enjoyed watching Fotoplayers and the amazing people who play them. Looking forward to seeing the details of the sale for the Fotoplayer, I've always wanted to own one of those!
Hi Nate and best wishes from Australia ! I just recently found your channel and also just concluded watching all your videos and especially enjoyed the 'revival' series. It culminated tonight for me watching this amazing performance you gave 'scoring' to the silent short 'One Week'. As a pianist and lover of all things 'pianola' since I was a child, I have to say you were brilliant in your timing, attention to detail and exuberance in putting this together. I for one thought it was superb - ha, I even applauded at the end sitting here on my own! I could go on about all the little details that were highlights for me, but the comment section isn't the place for that, so I'll just say well done and I am loving your channel. Your kind nature and the manner in which you present these videos is thoroughly enjoyable. Pat yourself on the back mate, you deserve it !!
Thank you so much for your kind words! It's been quite a journey to get here, and I'm still discovering new things when I perform for friends in my shop. The adventure continues!
It was a lot of work to get the photo player beautifully finished again. But it's also a lot of work to play him so well! Well done! Many greetings from Germany. Steffen 👋🏼😊
A great production Nate, if there were any hiccups the whole crowd was with you all the way. Congratulations on a lovely restored Fotoplayer and your timing in the performance was spot on!
I think that you can be so very proud of the job that you have done with preserving, restoring and saving this very scarce instrument for the future! It could have very easily been trashed as it was in rough condition and incomplete when you got it. It is obviously a real learning curve to learn how to operate one of these instruments AND then to match the music to the film (which would have changed frequently at the time). It is a beautiful and wonderful instrument of which you can be so very proud!
This is so awesome! American fotoplayer are one of my favorite instruments, not only because they can be really noisy, but they also include some really cool mechanics. That buster also had a rough week I guess!
Great performance Nate! I’ve enjoyed each and every one of your videos and this was the best yet. The fotoplayer sounds terrific and you did a marvelous job with the accompaniment. As always, looking forward to your next video.

That was amazing Nate, thank you so much for sharing this, it was just plain good fun and entertainment. You’ve done a brilliant job on that instrument bringing it back to its glory days. On another note, are you decorating the hearse for driving on Halloween?
I'm really glad you enjoyed it! The Fotoplayer is certainly a time machine in a way! Last year I sold the hearse to open up resources and brainspace. It was like putting a pet down!
Thank you for watching Fotoplayer Fridays!

You make a great point! I hadn't thought of it that way.
Thank you for your encouragement!

Yes, I am terribly proud of how it turned out. I had so many doubts along the way! Thank you for your kind words.

And to think: the Style 15 is the most simple of them all! I can't wait to get my hands into a larger machine.
A larger machine! Ready to take on the challenge?
I watched the very end of the video. What style is the other fotoplayer?
Great performance Nate! I’ve enjoyed each and every one of your videos and this was the best yet. The fotoplayer sounds terrific and you did a marvelous job with the accompaniment. As always, looking forward to your next video.
Wow, I really appreciate your kind words! Restoring the Fotoplayer was one thing, but I discovered a whole new thrill performing with it.

Glad I'm not alone! Thank you.
Great job! Playing a Photoplayer, especially a larger one, is certainly on my bucket list!
I hope you're able to fill your bucket!
I was waiting this for many time! Thanks Otto!
This was delightfull, I hope we coud see in the future more revivals like this, concerts & more.
Thank you for your patience! I too hope for more opportunities to share these wonderful machines.

That was fantastic, congratulations.
But just think of the poor guys that had 2 shows a day 7 days a week. 👍👍
Thank you! Yes, these machines and their operators got a real workout back in the day.
Nate, You did a fantastic job.
Thank you for watching!
Uh oh! Someone needed a premium prescription! 😮 I salute you sir! You managed it with calm aplomb!
You did a great job Nate!
Thank you! I truly had the time of my life.
Do you think you could keep that up for cinema showings twice daily Nate?!! 😄🧐
If my paycheck depended on it, I'm sure! I can hardly imagine playing a lengthier film or even on a larger machine with more effects to manage.
Solid performance, Nate!
It was all a blur! In a good day.

Oh! And Nate, what is the song in the middle of the movie? “The End to a Perfect Day”? Was there originally a sing-along in the middle of the film?
What’s the name of the piano roll you used for the train scene? I’d love to find a copy
It's a Picturroll called Storm in the Desert.
@@nateoutsidethevacuum Thank you so much! I think I've heard that used in train scenes before in some other movies.
Very AMAZING!
Thank you! I'm so glad I had the opportunity.
What are you replacing the style 15 with?
Something with a few more bells and whistles. Stay tuned!
Shame Fotoplayers didn't have a "Advert be-gone" button...
i put this on the premere but i recently aquiered a 1910s shoninger player pinao and i was wondering if you had andy tips fo a beginer
