The Grace I have seen be so amazingly brilliant on countless occasions would wow people, the interviewers, the audience, the World..... if.... IF she wasn't making sure she didn't when talking about herself in these situations! It seems quite apparent to me that she would rather exude an unassuming, humble and gracious demeanor - which comes just as naturally to her as the brilliantly insightful, "old soul" persona that just knocks us for a loop. Not making a judgement here, just an observation. Luv the whole Grace! Thanks Sam!!

Will we ever see interviewers, who did their homework? Some research about the person the‘re interviewing. AGT is 3 years old. Grace made 2 albums, wrote countless songs, opened for mega stars, headlined 2 tours, one during this very interview and they didn’t have a clue what to ask. It’s ridiculous. Grace manages this as always with poise and brilliantly, she’s a genuine kind and grounded person, but this must be annoying to her too. Pure ignorance. Her management should make sure, the hosts of these shows are better prepared. Like Zach Sang for example.

She is no longer the 12-year-old girl, but her character has always been strong and safe, and her sensitive soul and sweet heart have moved us since that beginning in AGT.

Short but interesting. And contrary to what some people express in other "forums", I liked it because it's not her comfort zone, they take her a little out of place, and she throws out some unexpected response.

They weren't taking out of her comfort zone in a constructive way, however. They were simply being obtuse and AGT obsessed...which happened 3 years ago. Grace has done so much more since then and her frustration over never being acknowledged for those accomplishments, and what's coming up, is what's making her, and me, uncomfortable.
Grace handled it well and she looked fabulous doing so. She's not at fault for any awkwardness in this interview. Her publicist really needs to ask these interviewers to, if they must, only touch on the AGT bit and focus, rightly, on the future.

@@vandalshq Oh no no. I wasn't talking about AGT at all. And of course she handled it well. That's part of why I liked the interview

I didn't think Grace was ever out of her comfort zone in this interview. She has been asked all those questions before and given substantially the same answers. Also, I thought the interview was reasonably balanced. They had a limited time to interview her, and going through her long list of accomplishments would have been pretty time-consuming. Sure, they pointed out that she had won AGT--and that was to establish her identity for the great bulk of viewers who have absolutely no freaking idea of who she is (fanderwaals live in a bubble). Then they were quick to point out that the present Grace had come a long way since then, and they featured a recent music video. The focus of the interview was today's and tomorrow's Grace. I don't have any complaints about it.

Something has to change, that's for sure! This type of interview is a totally wasted opportunity for everybody involved, including the fans and I see it as actually doing more harm than good. There's no gain for Grace in even doing them if they're not going to probe and explore this dynamo and the astonishing legacy she is quietly building. They seem to have no recognition of who Grace REALLY is and do nothing to find out. Sad!

@@rosswinslow4595 Yeah well. I don't know what you expect from a dull and mannered morning magazine. At least this seems the same type as those here after morning news and politics. They treated like skimming a bit of everything....... but no mention the tour (or past tours) even though she was in the middle of it. Anyway..... she was funny not remembering from like last year and earlier, etc....... but I think Grace didn't know or couldn't take advantage of talking about the next single (although at that time perhaps she didn't even know which song it was gonna be, but she was gonna release one), and she didn't know or couldn't extend a little better with Stargirl. But we know now she has no projects in movies and keeps confirming her path in music.

Grace is becoming a very beautiful young woman, moved on from being a pretty girl. I have just read "Stargirl" and apart from it being a very well written book and clearly aimed at people a lot younger than me (say 60 years younger), it engrossed me from the very first chapter. The only trouble I had was I was unable to picture the story without seeing Grace, it's almost as though it was written just for her. Cant wait for the film.

I'd say middle schoolers. I was a HUGE fan of that book back in middle school, and being a HUGE fan of Grace it's like a wild dream come true!! 😆🤩🤯

Lol not "yikes". You can live your life however you like and Grace is living hers. She went to Kenya in 2018 with her dad to help the Starkey Foundation supply hearing aids for those in need. A year later, they decided to get matching elephant tattoos as a reminder of that experience.
